GodMercy2015:

Mamas kindly answer my questions , i would like to buy the supplements to prepare my body for natural or ivf conception for three months.

We shall all testify soon in Jesus Name.

Morning @Godmercy2015, what exactly have you done? what was the results of the investigative test you did? That would determine which supplements to take.

I also did what you are trying to do now, to prepare my body physicaly for a 2nd IVF when I conceived naturally by GOD's grace last year. I had researched and read a lot of things here, on the ttc thread, weight loss thread and the alternative to ttc threads on the need to prepare myself before starting the IVF cycle . Truth is only a few centres in Nigeria would tell you to embark on this body preparation process, most would deceive you to start as soon as possible, as a trial and error case. If you are amongst the few .001% to get a BFP on your 1st or 2nd trial, you are very fortunate. Most people get theirs after several trials.

Meanwhile I learnt one key information that it takes the body 3 months to produce a good egg/sperm, so ideally one should prepare themselves 3 - 6 months before embarking on any cycle. But we all are so impatient to get the result immediately. Yet in the long run, its when we meet this time target that most of us get our solution(ironic ?) after spending so much time and money. It is well. We can only improve from our past mistakes and move forward towards our goals. Don't mind me, I am just reminiscing on my 12 year journey to hold my baby girl in my arms. wink

Becos I was diagnosed of ovarian failure due to low AMH, hormonal imbalance, I took ACV (apple cider vinegar with braggs), Fertlitea daily from AF to O, took grape juice in the mornings for the week of O, did castor oil massage from after AF to O (only did it 2ice), took Vit E, royal jelly 3-in-1 combo (royal jelly, bee pollen, bee propolis), DHEA and folic acid. changed my diet, stop eating sugary things like sweets, chocolate, cake, biscuits.. anything processed and sweet. Reduced my rice intake, switched to beans, ugwu, titus fish, chicken(boiled), quaker oats in the morning with boiled broccoli/apple, did lots of fruit juice (watermelon, carrot, apple, cucumber, cabbage), tigernut milk, changed my cooking oil to less cholestrol (wesson) and if i had to use oil, just very very little. Stopped drinking cold water, switched to warm or room temperature water. Gave my hubby tomatoes juice (blended 2 big ripe tomatoes) every day with his meal in the evening along with the varied fruit juice I did every two days. Men I spent money on fruits, no bi small..lol. I also did the water therapy thing ( drinking lots of water in the morning, during the day and at night) and exercise (walking for a minimum of 40 mins twice a week / using the staircase at work). I believed all these things contributed to my success story. Most importantly I spent time praying and working on my faith.

Wish you the best and that you also come out with your testimony.

Hello Ladies,

Good day. I'm a silent reader but I want to post this testimony to encourage someone.

My sister got married 8 years ago. Conception became a battle. After years of different issues which included pcos, tube blockage et al and fertility options both conventional and herbal, she did IVF and had twins.

The twins are less than a year and without knowing, she realized she had taken in again. No drugs, no monitoring, no egg tracking, no clomid. Not even folic acid. She felt since it was difficult to conceive, that she was therefore on a natural planning method so she didn't even know when she ovulated and all.

All the glory is to God but I also realized that one of the factors that may have contributed to it is the fact that she had 100 percent piece of mind. She was busy caring for her kids and being overwhelmed at God's goodness. My question is this, could anxiety hinder our blessing? I'm sure it at times short circuits the power of God because without faith we cannot please God . There are so many people with worse unknown medical conditions and they still take in without knowing. That's because they don't even know they have low sperm count, pcos etc.

With knowledge breeds fear at times and then anxiety. We should take every report of the doctors to God and believe His report.

God bless.

PS: Thanks Blendy. You don't know me but I actually told my sister to contact you when she wanted to start with Dr Emeka for the IVF. You helped her immensely by talking to him on her behalf. God bless you exceedingly.

@beauty4ashes @olubankemi, It wasn't easy but it was worth it.
I had to just bear and do everything possible to enhance my chances for success. I was tired of just relying totally on doctors and drugs and treatment. I knew I had to do something more. Then with prayers, guidance, support from all my friends here and few close ones, this was achievable.Me that liked sweet mouth, ehn, it pained me at first when I had to stop all my chop chop..lol..but now when I see her, I know it was worth it.

@ All, please lets keep holding on to GOD in this journey. I have a family friend who had their child after 20 years of marriage through IVF at DIFF in abuja. Infact I had planned to go there myself but for the distance, so I had settled on using Dr. Emeka at Olive Clinic, Lekki before GOD answered me. I believe it was my time and for everyone this is your time. The old ones who have stood in here, advising others, please don't give up. Your miracle is right at the door, please keep on doing what you are doing. For all the newbies, may your stay be short and then you progress to the preggy thread.
@Blendy and co, old timers I salute oh. Whenever I come here and see you guys encouraging others, my heart is gladden. Thank you thank you thank you.

#mamacajah, I totally agree with you. Most doctors will not tell you to prepare your body as well as your spouse 3 months at least to IVF. The onus is on us to research cos when you think of the money being spent on art's, you will do the extra to prepare your body and also seek God's face. I remember the cycle I got bfp was when I placed myself on fertilaid ovaboost, cm, royal jelly folic acid. Hubby was on fertilaid for men and I registered in a gym. May God's word be true in our lives, ijn.

Hello fruitful mamas. I just want to encourage for as many as are willing to go to the next holy ghost service at R.C.C.G. I remember last year September service(the key of David was the theme). It was announced that we should not watch on t.v but come to the camp cus at a point all media equipments were turned off. The good news is that God answered me in that service after waiting for almost 6 yrs. May God visit us as we attend too in Jesus name.

Yes I did. 12yrs oh.. no b i beans. I didn't detoxify with trevo or edamark and co.. I believe the water therapy, ACV and fertiltea were my detoxification. No I didn't use sugar at all, sometimes I used honey for the oats and form y milk, I used tigernut milk. Fertiltea is a product from Fairhaven that helps to balance hormones. They also do Fertilaid, ovaboost, etc. I learnt it all from nairaland (ttc thread) before the tsunami. As for the blissful 9 mths, AMEN for my next journey, which I am eager to start soon.. lol..

Please, where can one do ivf in abuja? How good are the places? Do u know any hospital that do sex selection?

There a lot of hospitals in Abuja.. DIFF, Nisa Premier, Fertilaid ( I think ) in Gwarimpa..go through the thread or other abuja mums/dads will soon answer. For PGD (sex selection) I only know of ART, Maryland Lagos that does it.

Just got to know that if ones vit d level is low, it might affect the amh level. Did mine in june, it was 0.9ish so , I have been on dhea 50mg. But I have uped it to 75mg this morning. Read combining it coq10 is also fantastic.
I am planning on checking my vit d level next cycle. Google for more information.

@mummyesther, my first amh level in 2013 may was 0.89 on a normal range of 1 - 1.5. by January 2014 it was 0.70. that's when I started taking my dhea. I read online of a 42yrs old woman who took it to improve her chances with ivf and it worked. so I decided to give it a try. I started with 75mg daily - 25mg 3ice daily. then later reduced to 50mg after ovulation. plus Google for more information.

To answer your question, it was self prescription. in fact I was careful at that time not to talk too much about my self supplementation so that I wouldn't be discouraged. even my family didn't know what I was doing. I just told them I was trying to lose weight ...

God bless you all for your responses.
@Mummycajah: Thats exactly what I'm thinking of, after all if the eggs wont do their work and doctors are not prescribing, then one better takes ones future into ones hands. The longer one waits, the worse it gets.
Thanks a bunch.

Not all abt the Dr's, u just have to be your own advocate
My FS told me something I completely disagree with. Not that he means any harm but I think he has limited info on dat mata,so I googled people who have had similar issues and what they did.Keep asking questions,if your FS no get answer ask Dr google.I have read stories of peole who were told they will need a surrogate but out of curiosity they researched Dr's who could fix their womb and they eventually got preggo and naturally sef.Like a friend said there are people who know their job well.Seek them
