We thank God for d successful deliveries we had in october. We started with prayer and the lord took control till d end. we return all glory to our maker,our deliverer and saviour. accept our thanks in jesus name.

Last week, my wife saw some blood discharge on her undies while she was 15weeks pregnant and i had to rush her to a nearby clinic. While we were there, the doctor did a scan n told us that the baby is dead. Meanwhile, we did a scan a week before this incident. We were asked to repeat d scan somewhere else to confirm the result. What i saw that night was terrifying. My wife bled and i had to rush her to the hospital. On getting there, the doctor confirmed it and opted for an evacuation. As a man, i've been trying to control my emotions cos i really feel d loss.
My question is, does the quality of a mans sperm contribute to a miscarriage?

Sorry about your loss. Pls be strong for madam. Alot of things can go wrong to cause miscarriage. Yes quality of the sperm can so also quality of the woman's egg. It could b little of an appropriate hormone like progesterone, it could be that the child isn't forming well,could be as result of stress even incompetent cervix. In fact a host of other factors. Were the doctors able to detect the cause of the miscarriage? It's well bro, the Lord will give double for your loss.

Lost my LO at 17+5, it was a hell of a journey, but God saw me thru.
Am coming back to testify very soon. So pls no sorrys for me, just prepare a grand congratulatory entrance for me, wen I com back wit my Xmas testimony!

@michealokoi. So sad to hear. Miscarriage is very common in pregnancy and you should not try to blame yourself for what you did or didn't do.

Sometimes it could be as a result of the building blocks or the condition of the womb or neck of the womb, or existing medical conditions.

However, If you both are healthy and no underlying medical condition...like infection, diabetes etc. Then she should be able to conceive again and carry it to delivery.

Only after 3 consecutive episodes of miscarriage should any lady be worried. And in that situation a good and close follow up of pregnancy will be needed.

******** MY BIRTH STORY ********


My EDD as shown by almost all my scans slated
27-09-2015. I was counting down seriously. Mum
believes a woman should look good to the favour
room so I took my time to make my nails (short),
make my hair (simple) and even waxed down
below (you understand), all in readiness for
27-09-2015.

27-09-2015 came, no sign of labour all day....My
anxiety rose but DH calmed me down (We gat
+2wks to wait). I went for my antenatal the
Thursday after my EDD and my Dr pissed me off
with his "Ha! U never drop am??"
exclamation.....Well we talked that was when he told
me my baby was too big (scan showed 4.4kg) to
pass thru my pelvis blah blah and he suggested I
go for an elective CS, priced at #220,000 (where
me & that kan money for come??) and he
advised I get it done immediately for my baby's
safety....I left him angrily.

I didn't see that coming at all, I felt bad because
all my birth plan seems to have gone south.

Went to the central hospital the next day for a
second opinion, after many questions & answers
+ checks the Dr reaffirm what my other Dr had
said and immediately booked me to be checked
in for the section. I just left them and went home
to cry my unprepared eyes out. This happened
09-10-2015 and I was 41+ already.

I docked the Dr's advise, believing God for the Vaginal delivery (Thinking religiously and endangering my LO). A lot happened, my legs that never swelled during pregnancy started swelling constantly even when raised on a pilliow at night accompanied by sleepless nights laced with strong thoughts of what ifs....My fear heightened but I made up my mind to go thru with the CS (Took me 11days to make up my mind) and fervently praying its not to late coz I was already at 42+.

I packed my bags with DH on the 20-10-2015 and set out to the hospital....Went thru all these processes and tests with lots of scolding from the Drs and nurses but I was past caring, all I want to my child safe. I was booked for the section immediately (It was a miracle given the fact that its a government hospital).

By 12midnight I was wheeled into the theatre, fixed on drips and given spinal anesthesia coz I wanted to watch the whole process.....12:30am my baby boy was delivered weighing 3.7kg and showed to me (I just smiled and praised God .... The moment was magical), 1am I was out of the theatre all cleaned up.

LO was checked for anything attached to post termed babies....He was certified okay.

Dr advised not to try the silly risk I took again....I solemnly swore "Never Again".

Am dealing with pains but the joy of my baby boy take all the pains away.

Oh I forgot to mention the whole operation was Free Of Charge courtesy of the previous government of Delta State.

Go to the hospital Asap for close monitoring!! Delay is not an option..

Pre eclamsia is not as bad as eclamsia. Be happy it was discovered on time and that why it's a pre.

Helloooooo, don't ever panic as it will raise further your BP. Be calm, pray to your God and embrace Him for safe delivery.

Is this your first? Read it's common in first pregnancy. But don't ever worry. Early delivery is usually advised for such cases. Follow your Dr advise. Prepare and again never panic. Don't go binding and casting, all you need do is Just praise, it makes you feel light. Confess positively.

Quick question is 3.7kg big? That's what my daughter weighed at birth (40weeks).

Seem like all these measurement with late scan causes unnecessary alarm

Is your picture size more than 250kb? Most good phone camera pictures are heavy but that's the max size allowed for Nairaland

. Now am gonna come out of my active silent mode. YES,i have witnessed it,I survived severe preeclampsia last year (September 2014) but my baby didn't make it through as I was barely 23 weeks and five days. Preeclampsia is not to be taken lightly at all as it progresses very fast. I nearly lost my life as I also had HELLP.Thankfully, the doctors acted very fast.So please follow your doctor's decision.It would end in praise.The Lord has even restored unto me that which I thought I had lost as my bundle of Joy arrived in the month of September 2015.

My dear pls follow the Dr's advice. Pre-eclampsia is not something to toil with. Don't panic but be thankful that's it's coming close to term. My friend's case was at 29weeks and she was forming Jackie Chan, na God save her life finally. Pls this is not to scare you but for you to make up your mind and follow their advice. Best wishes
