The agent of Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has revealed he’s in talks over a move to Arsenal.

Nwakali, who recently admitted he’d love to play for the Gunners, is being chased by Chelsea and Udinese ahead of the January window.

But the player’s agent has revealed there’s also talks with Arsenal over a move to the Emirates Stadium.

‘We have been in touch with Arsenal,’ explained Klay Ekeocha.

‘There has been no feedback [or bid] as yet though.’

Nwakali was recently the star of the Under-17 World Cup in Chile, where he captained Nigeria to victory and won the Most Valuable Player Award.

Ur expectations are unrealistic, u don't even know who we are playing and u are ready to say they would be failures if they don't win. Football does not work like that, even Germany were not unanimously predicted champions and the Netherlands were not failures for coming 3rd.

I said, I do not look at who are playing but my trust in the managers. What makes yours realistic and what makes mine unrealistic? If Manchester City does not win the Champions league, I will see that as a failure. With our management and players, I expect more from the Cityzens. Anything less than that is a failure and you say it is unrealistic.

I trust our Coaching crew ability. I expect them to select a deadly force. I am not saying they must win it but if they make Silver or fall in the Semi finals, I will not celebrate it. My expectation for them is simple. The title in the WYC. We are due for it and we have the talents both on the field and on the coaching bench.

When Coach Yemi Tella arrived for the U17 World Cup, a journalist asked him what his expectations of his team was. His answer was we are here for the title.

I guess you would have called him unrealistic because he did not know who his opponents were and the Germans and Spaniards came with some quality talents like Bojan, Merida, Sukuta Pasu and Toni Kroos. England had Welbeck, Victor Moses and Lansbury.

However, Our Coach had only one target and he set his boys to play with that mentality.

I know it is not an easy task but I trust the coaches.

I watched the 2005 set. And now I've taken a good review of the 1989 set with other video clips. I also saw the Bronze-winning 1985 set on Videos and weekend football shows as a kid.

I must honestly state here that indeed the 1989 set was/is The best ever....... For now. Closely followed by the 2005 set.

So I concur.

*smiles*

P.S: Hopefully, this rating will change soon within the next two editions (2017 and 2019) of the Fifa U-20 world cups for Nigeria. *smiles*

That Saudi '89 set was the best ever. Go watch more of their videos on youtube.

Yeah, exciting options we have here. But I'll prefer a Kelechi Nwakali in Central midfield ahead of an Ifeanyi Matthew.
That for me is a no-brainer. *smiles*

Ifeanyi Matthew excels more in the Attacking midfield and central midfield roles. He's not so assured in defensive midfield or as a "keen marker". But his duo-midfield qualities make him an outstanding talent.

Kelechi Nwakali is the one young player who brings to mind Yaya Toure @ the peak of his powers. K.Nwakali is a 3-in-1 midfield dynamo as he excels in the Defensive, central and attacking midfield roles (the D/C/A MF roles). This kid gives the keen impression he'll one day be "Nigeria's Super Eagles Undisputed Midfield leader".

Now, check these out:

**My Skills dossier on I.Matthew & K.Nwakali**

1). Ball distribution/Ability to spread play: Both excel here.

2). Creativity/Play Invention: Both excel here.

3). Eagle eye Vision: Both excel here.

4) Work-rate: Both have "good work-rate". Their "horsepower qualities" are admirable. But K.Nwakali covers more ground than Matthew so, Nwakali edges matthew here.

5). Ability to dictate play: Both are good here but K.Nwakali excels more. His "Midfield Bossing abilities" belie his young age. #fact

6). Experience: Matthew edges K.Nwakali here. No questions asked. *smiles*

7). Defensive/marking qualities (when off the ball): K.Nwakali trumps Matthew here. No questions asked here too. *smiles*

cool. Long-range shooting: Both excel here. But Matthew just slightly edges K.Nwakali here....... For now.

9). Set-piece specialist potentials (esp. Freekicks): dead-ball specialists, set-piece specialists, freekick masters and Penalty lords. All fall into the same category for me. *smiles* "the Set-piece Masters".

Both have huge potentials in this regard but I'll place K.Nwakali ahead of Matthew here.

10). Pass masters (the passes-before-the-final-pass): Both I.Matthew and K.Nwakali excel here.

Total Brief:
-K.Nwakali 4-2 I.Matthew.

-Both stay same on "4".

So there you have it........ *smiles*

Meanwhile, the possibility of their playing together is not ruled out.

In a 4-2-3-1 formation (dynamic 4-5-1), both may feature.

**smiles**

Wikipedia has a wrong age for d boy then.

Infact the thought of Musa Yahaya nt beinh eligible almost spoilt my day. Thank God we know he is eligible now.I was confused bc we know he was supposed to sign d Spurs contract when he turns 18. Hey! so Imagine Yahaya, Chukwueze, Mathew playing beyind Awoniyi and Osimhen in dat team. And K. Nwakali bossing things from d middle of d field. Hahaha, we are waiting. But Matthew plays in like position with K Nwakali.

So suddenly u have this new found trust for Manu Garba? lol it just seems funny to me. Yes u can have aspirations for the team but don't brand them failures if they don't meet up to ur expectation. Yes i want them to win but i also know it is not life or death for all i care they can crash out and i will still surport them as long as i see them trying and putting in effort. Those other kids outside Nigeria are not sleeping they are also trying to get better so we can't expect to win everytime.

If Usain Bolt targets to break the World Record and he fails, he is not a failure.

I just want the coaches and the boys to have the trophy as a target. If they do not win, they have other challenges in life to prove how good they are. The New Zealand WYC set did not reach my expectation, it does not stop me from seeing them as champions.

They are not failures if they do not win the tourney but I will be disappointed because they are good enough.

Well, I see these set as the set to bring in the trophy. My prayer is for them to believe in their coaches and themselves.

One of the reasons why I felt deeply disappointed in Coach Manu Garba is because I believe in his tactical ability as a coach. I rate him highly and I like his philosophy of the game.

Something bad went on at New Zealand but Coach Manu Garba has a second chance to fix the errors. He is a smart man and he must have learnt from his mistakes. I hope he also watch out for the NFF vampires.

What I admire most about Kelechi Nwakali is not his football skills but his confidence and leadership quality. I took note of him after the Eaglets lost to Gabon and Nwakali was sure we would beat the Gabonese.

We are going to show Gabon that Nigeria is Under-17 defending Champions and not 'Ebola Nigeria' as they called us in Libreville... Kelechi Nwakali.

The match ended 5-0 in favor of the Eaglets.

Sporting Clube de Portugal, Lisbon have set the ball rolling in their bid to seal a move for Golden Eaglets stars Kelechi Nwakali and Victor Osimhen, this is according to allnigeriasoccer.com.

Both players won individual awards at the recently concluded FIFA Under 17 World Cup, with skipper Nwakali picking up the prestigious Golden Ball accolade and Osimhen winning the Golden Boot after scoring in every single game contested by the Golden Eaglets at the tourney.

Clubs in England, including Arsenal and Chelsea, have been keeping tabs on the pair after their impressive showing in Chile but no formal bid has been received as yet.

And the English Premier League teams could pay a price for dragging their feet, with Sporting Clube de Portugal weighing up a move for the Nigerian starlets and have told the players’ intermediaries to name their price and conditions.

Italian Serie A side Udinese have shown the most serious interest in signing Nwakali and there is a strong likelihood that The Little Zebras may win the race for his signature due to new regulations regarding work permits in England.

Ike Ugbo Strikes Twice As Chelsea Thrash Leicester City

England youth international Ike Ugbo struck twice as Chelsea romped to a 5 - 0 win over Leicester City in the Barclays Under-18 Premier League on Saturday afternoon at Cobham.

The 17 - year - old broke the deadlock when he tapped in Maddox’s cross beyond Bramley for his tenth goal of the season.
Ike Ugbo doubled Chelsea’s lead with another close range effort after he was fed by Dasilva.

The Londoners were three goals up before the half - time interval, and in the second half Mount and Watefield were on target to record a routine win.

Next Saturday, Chelsea who top the table will host West Ham United.

A minor heart surgery to correct a defect noticed in the heart of Nigeria 18 year old right full back,Nura Abdullahi who plays on loan for AS Roma from Serie B side Spezia will be carried out this weekend.

The 18 year old who is reportedly on the radar of Barcelona was diagnosed with the issue after a routine medical check up and he is now set to go under the surgeon's knife for the surgery meant to protect his career.

It is reportedly a simple task and he won't be out for too long along according to reports gathered by News24 but this will be a minor setback to his fine form for AS Roma Primavera side where he has become a regular and has made the bench for the main team four times so far this season in the Serie A.

Nicknamed "Two Sim' by his friends in Kaduna due to his tireless ability when running the right flank from his full back role, He is tipped to be an integral part of Nigeria's next Under-20 team which will commence training in January in Abuja.

Last season he earned his loan move to Roma alongside his childhood friend Sadiq Umar after scoring 8 times and providing 12 assists for the B team of Serie B side Spezia.

Team Secretary Egbaiyelo Tayo Forcing Golden Eaglets Stars Bamgboye, Michael & Orji Okonkwo To Sign Representation Contracts

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the Team Secretary of the Golden Eaglets, Egbaiyelo Tayo, is trying to force a number of players in the Nigeria Under 17s squad to sign representation contracts with his nominated agent under duress.

This website can confirm that the affected players are Kingsley Michael ( Football College Abuja ), Funsho Bamgboye (Aspire Academy ) and Orji Okonkwo ( Football College Abuja).

Orji Okonkwo was supposed to travel to Italy last night to begin training with Spezia ahead of completing his switch to the Serie B side in the January transfer window, having been issued a visa by the Italian embassy in Lagos.

But his trip to Liguria was cancelled at the last minute, with Egbaiyelo Tayo informing the teenager, Football College Abuja and his representatives that he has a better deal for the player at Chelsea .

The Nigeria Football Federation official is engaged in conflict of interest and wants to destroy the career of Orji Okonkwo.

Football College Abuja higher - ups have asked Egbaiyelo Tayoto provide evidence of his communication with Chelsea and he has not been able to produce it.

Nigerian agents have insisted that their greatest competitors are not their foreign counterparts but a number of NFF officials who are involved in the illegal trading of players especially after major tournaments.

Fifa just confirmed my suspicions. They only acknowledge 1 mistake when in fact they made 2 mistakes.

1). Samuel Chukwueze's 3gls and 3 assists were ranked 3rd on the top scorers' list on the fifa website with K.Nwakali in fourth. (Based on achievement of statistics under lesser no. Of minutes). At least our "Arjen Robben-like player" has a prize to show for his industry at the previous level. Hopefully, he keeps getting better for this level ahead of 2017.

2). Akpan David Udoh's 82.8% overall saves ratio % beat Mali's Samuel Diarra's 81%. So why did he get the Golden Gloves? Fifa should please be careful next time.

You know, it was the FIFA-knows-better thinking that stopped me from speaking about it. Good to know that even FIFA admits when it's wrong.

[b]Fifa Admits Bronze Boot Error, Chukwueze Not Nwakali Winner

The world football governing body has express regret in naming Nwakali as bronze boot winner instead of ChukwuezeThe Federation of International Football Association (Fifa) has admitted they made a mistake giving Kelechi Nwakali the 2015 U17 World Cup bronze boot instead of Samuel Chukwueze.
Chukwueze (535 minutes) and Nwakali (630 minutes) were tied on three goals and three assists but the later was awarded as third highest goal scorer prize despite having more playing time than his teammate.

“We made a mistake at the closing ceremony of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015 with the distribution of the adidas Bronze Boot,” Fifa wrote to the NFF.

“Instead of player no. 8 of Nigeria, Samuel Chukwueze, the player Kelechi Nwakali (player no. 10 of Nigeria) received the adidas Bronze Boot. However, if two or more players are still equal (after goals and assists), the player who has played fewer number of minutes will be ranked first.

“With this in mind, adidas will send you another Bronze Boot in December 2015, which we would kindly ask you to hand over to Samuel Chukwueze. Please be informed that Kelechi Nwakali may keep his trophy.”

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen won the golden boot award with 10 goals while Germany’s Johannes Eggestein walked away with the silver boot having scored four goals.

I agree with u, sure the Malian goalie was top notch but so was Udoh. In all our goals conceded Udoh was never at fault while their keeper basically handed us our second goal with a poor throw. I am very happy Samuel got recognized for a great tournament.

Amuneke: We Respect FIFA Decision On Nwakali, Chukwueze Bronze Boot Mix-Up

By Bamidele Boluwaji:
Golden Eaglets coach Emmanuel Amuneke has told Comple tesportsnigeria.com that he respects the world football governing body FIFA's decision after they announced that Kelechi Nwakali has been stripped of the bronze boot award given to him at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.

The world football governing body on Tuesday notified the Nigeria Football Federation that the award was meant for Samuel Chukwueze but was erroneously given to Nwakali at the closing ceremony of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.

Reacting to the latest development, Amuneke who led the Golden Eaglets to win the trophy said FIFA decision cannot be contested after they admitted it was a mistake.

"We have to respect FIFA's decision but I must let you know that our priority in Chile was to win the trophy and I want to thank God that against all odds, we were able to achieve that and anything after that is not really seen as a big deal," the former Barcelona of Spain winger told Comple tesportsnigeria.com.

"Since they have admitted that it was a mistake, we have to leave it like that while the two players concentrate on their career.

"I am sure they still have a lot to achieve in life and I can only pray that the Almighty God see them through."

Meanwhile, adidas is expected to send another Bronze Boot which will be handed over to Samuel Chukwueze by the Nigeria Football Federation at a later date.

The FIFA letter acknowledging the error reads: “We made a mistake at the closing ceremony of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015 with the distribution of the adidas Bronze Boot.

NFF stops Golden Eaglets’ foreign move
By: EVEREST ONYEWUCHI

…Pinnick says they’re national assets

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will not approve the request for International Transfer Certificate (ITC) for any member of the victorious Golden Eaglets.

This is authoritative, coming from the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, who yesterday in Lagos, described the players as “a national asset”.

Pinnick said that contrary to some recent stories that a foreign agent had signed some members of the team on its stable, no such transfer had been approved.

“Quote me, the players are going no where; they are our national asset.

We are the custodians of football in Nigeria, we will regulate and determine where they go and how they develop to ensure that they and their parents ultimately benefit from their career,” Pinnick vowed.
