It depend on which state and which local government and village who r going. I got married last year December. I wanted a low key marriage but at d end i spent abt 1.6million naira.
What u r going to buy in d marriage list will take abt 600 to 700000naira.then u now talk abt the traditional and white wedding.

Nothing for dream girl but like 1.5 million for reality girl.

2. The understanding of your dream girl
3. Your own mentality etc

I think this should depends on the individual's financial wherewithal but I'm guessing on average should be 500k. The amount shouldn't really matter though as what's important is having a wedding and signing the necessary papers and verbal vows.

However, while one shouldn't spend extravagantly on their wedding, it shouldn't also look like an indigent and a classless event. It's their big day and should be once in a lifetime right? So, should be remarkable.

Considering the recent naira free fall and it weak value at the moment, I'm suspecting that at least a million naira should be budgeted for an impressive wedding.

the amount might be relative. a 500k wedding in some part of naija is nt equal to another part of the country. in some places only venue will wipe off the chunk of the budgets

You have all shared good views. As for me the woman and or her family is my concern. My pastor sometimes ago was telling me how I can fit in my wedding into a Sunday service.
If the woman and her family will be ready to cooperate, I will subscribe to that no reception wedding or do a strictly by invitation wedding.
However, what I think matters is the dowry and other things the bride's family will take away.

*Bini gal: they will just pack in once u impregnate them.
*Fulani gal: as long as u can escort a cow from from Zaria to Lagos, u re good to go.
*Igbo gal: divided into two group namely Imo nd Others
*Others: Budget 500k-800k naira
*imo galz: u will change their Zinc roof to Corrugated roof, then the village will fine you for marrying their daughter, so all in all budget 3.5 million..
