Oga, are these photos not Orlu? They were taken a few weeks ago.

Due to old grudges, Okorocha inflicted the heaviest punishment on Orlu urban Lga by destroying development infrastructures after building about 4km of dual carriage ways in Orlu, but scrapped and abandoned more roads in Orlu four years running.
Flood, mud and dust have been ravaging Orlu and its inhabitants since then. You know this truth. You have come to Orlu to take photos before.

If Okorocha had closed eyes and asphalted those roads his contractors scrapped in Orlu; then faced development in his city, Owerri, none of us from Orlu can have time reproaching Okorocha any where. What for? After all government goes, another comes.

But for now, Okorocha seems to be SMILING from the four years Curses and abuses of hundreds of thousands of people in Orlu whose lives he had inflicted untold hardship upon, and rendered their town desolate.

ARE WE CURSED OR ARE WE THE CUASE: It rained cat and dog today and my beloved town Orlu was turned into rumbbles and shambles. The drainages that was supposed to have served as passage for flood had already been destroyed by Rochas+Uche Mbanaso+Garry Construction co and this caused serious blockage. It was really a bitter experience and an eye saw as all the town was over flooded filled with stone... See more

Orlu people are Imolites and are unarguably up to 60% of drug dealers in Onitsha and every other towns and villages Ndigbo sell drugs in Nigeria. Same can be said of Nnewi/Ozubulu people being 60% of spare parts dealers in Owerri and every other spare parts markets across Nigeria. It is equally not different from Abiriba/Ohafia/Bende being over 60% of stockfish importers. Igboland is blessed with talents by zones and so do they live everywhere across Nigeria. Ndi Anambra are even more outside their home than other Igbos followed clisely by Ndi Imo. These are things we need not argue about.
I doff my hat for you on this. Let your focus be on the things that unites us, rather than what divides us. Jisike!

Expired Guinness Products Impounded In Anambra By Consumer Protection Council by SunFlow(m): 1:18am

The south-east zonal coordinator of Consumer Protection Council led and headed by Mrs Ngozika Obidike has impounded 69 and half crates of expired Guinness Alcoholic drinks from a warehouse located at Awka-Ofemmili, Awka North LGA of Anambra State, allegedly belonging to a major distributor to Guinness Nigeria Plc.

Mrs Ngozika Obidike who made this known to newsmen in Awka, said the seizure was made following complaints by residents of the area, about possible food poisoning after consuming, Guinness Africa Special Alcoholic drinks allegedly purchased from the distributor.

According to her, “the complainant, Mr Ikechukwu Nnajidenma and his friends experienced severe purging and vomiting which made them to look at the bottles and found out that the drinks had expired. Immediately, we visited the warehouse with policemen, and discovered that 69 and half cartons of the Guinness drink have all expired. We (CPC) quickly took custody of them.”

Mrs Obidike who stated that the CPC has commenced investigations to ascertain the actual source of the expired products being sold to unsuspecting members of the public, also advised people to be mindful of the expiry dates on processed foods and drinks before consuming them.

The south-east coordinator of Consumer Protection Council further disclosed that the ceased items alongside other expired and unwholesome consumable products in the custody of the council would be destroyed publicly in line with the mandate of the council. “our job is to eliminate hazardous products from the market and address consumer’s Complaints amicably through investigation, mediation and conciliation. We shall destroy this drinks as well, because that is our mandate”. Correspondent reports that the expiry date on the label of the ceased Guinness products was 14th May 2016, while there were still being sold to the public as at 30th May, when the CPC raided the warehouse and impounded the products.

Evene though those photos have been in circulation for a while I see nothing wrong with the roads shown. If indeed they are the worst roads in Orlu then Orlu has very good roads as I've always attested. Try Onitsha, Awka or Obosi you will appreciate Orlu.

DEMOLITION: Court restrains Imo govt from relocating Ekeukwu Owerri market

OWERRI—An Imo State High Court presided over by Justice Sabinus I. Opara, yesterday, restrained the state government from destroying, relocating or tampering with the Ekeukwu Owerri Market, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit, HOW/380/2016. Gov Rochas OkorochaGov Rochas Okorocha Other respondents included the Governor of Imo State, the Attorney General of Imo State, and the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning. Justice Opara, who was not particularly happy that the defendants were not represented in court, also said that there was proof that they were properly served with the court processes. “There is proof that all the respondent’s were duly served as far back as August 31, 2016. There is however, nothing in the court’s file to show that the respondents have filed their response”, Justice Opara said. Although he said that he was minded by the provisions of the High Court Rules, Opara however said the Court was at liberty to adjust the time, in view of obvious threats to tamper with the subject matter. While ordering that the status quo should be maintained, the Judge also directed that the State Attorney General should not only be served with the order of court, but must also appear in person on September 8, 2016, the next adjourned date. Addressing the court earlier, counsel to Owerri indigenes, Ken C. O. Njemanze, SAN, said “the plaintiffs are seeking an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants, their servants, officers and/or agents from, in whatever manner, demolishing, destroying, removing, relocating or interfering with the day to day running or operation of the Ekeukwu Owerri Market, the subject matter of the suit”. Continuing, Njemanze told the court that “there are imminent threats by the defendants to demolish, remove, relocate the said market and interfere with enjoyment by the claimants of the said market.”

The same people showing us photos of how bad Douglas Road is are the same people struggling to stop Government from reconstructing the road all because of jealousy of history. However the court injuction cannot hold as Governor has not been served as he is out of the country and might be out till September 30th the demolition day.

i hope this will not be the last time we will be hearing about this project....wake up Okorocha

The Imo State government has signed a two billion dollars’ partnership with an international group, African Development Funding Group, to build and develop the proposed Imo Industrial Park.
The park will be built in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed at the Ndubuisi Kanu Executive Chambers at the Government House in Owerri the capital of Imo State in southeast Nigeria.
The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, told reporters that the proposed Imo Industrial Park in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area would generate over one million jobs for youths not only in the state but in the country.
He said that the project would turn Imo State into an investment haven which would boost the economy of the country and also increase her gross domestic product.
Meanwhile, the Vice President of the African Development Funding Group, Duncan Otieno, said they were willing to partner with Imo State to actualise the project with main focus on road infrastructure, agriculture, construction, and logistics in the industrial park.
One of the delegates from the African Development Funding Group is the Nigerian Consul General to South Africa Mrs Uche Ajulu-Okeke. (Channels TV)
