I said it earlier on another thread that her comments when bbc interviewed her shows she wanted to be part of the running of the affairs of the Nation and was advocating that her husband surround himself with northern loyalists but Buhari is having none of that so she decided to hit back with that interview.

Buhari has spoken well. A man of few words who will not give an inch for anybody not even his wife when it comes to the running of Nigeria.

Yes as far as the Nigerian government is concerned there is NO OFFICE OF THE FIRST LADY SO SHE BELONGS TO HIS KITCHEN, LIVING ROOM AND THE OTHER ROOM.

Case closed!

#ISTANDWITHBUHARI.

What l dont get is when people try to elevate Aisha beyond what she is: WIFE... of Mr Buhari!

May be people can tell us whether they had an agreement that she would be "Deputy" President, when he married her?
Maybe they can tell us when Buhari agreed that she can speak on behalf of his Govt or Party?
Maybe they can remind us that it was Aisha's vote that made Buhari the President of the vote of majority of Nigerians?
Maybe they can remind us whether we knew Aisha, before Buhari became President?
Finally, maybe some one should remind her that Buhari is President of Nigeria, and not an immigrant in Germany, who can be "arrested and jailed" on the orders of his wife Aisha!

If Aisha wants to be "bigger than her shoes" someone would remind her that Buhari will marry a second wife and divorce her, without blinking an eye!
Then she can carry the Ballot paper and try to be elected as President, on her own merit!
You see why we say you cant trust WOMEN with "Small Power"?

They start behaving like they own the world!

What is killing us in this country is leadership. We need good leaders. All this old politicians who have been in power for years should step down, let the younger generation who are competent take over. From now till 2019, it's up to Nigerians to know whether they want him in power or not, by speaking through the Polling booths.

@pretty16,i wish it is as easy as u said.Over time in this country, there has been a serious disconnect between the old and youth.Your submission would've been very possible if the youth wouldn't depend on the oldies to sponsor them to win elections.Nigerian politics and democracy is deeply rooted on God-fatherism and sharing formulae. This is why it always looks like nigeria runs a mono party system.

get some sense, as a president, you don't make such a statement on the international stage. A man with sense would simply say something like " it's unfortunate" or "no comment"[/quote at any rate,we never believe in PMB,why are we now sounding as if PMB surprised us with his comments. We better brace up for more statements like this from Mr president. Let us go and form our own country, and leave PMB & nigeria alone with their problems. PMB will never change his ways;u & I need to refocuse and channel our energy towards something more rewarding.

A democratic president saying his wife belongs in his kitchen and bedroom? His mentality is enough to ruin the country, basic reason I'm sorry for Nigeria. It goes beyond feminism. Duh?!

I agree with you that Aisha should have kept her mouth shut and is the root cause of the problem but his response is just as bad hers. A good wife does not huniliate her husband in public, she is not 1st lady and we did not vote for her, she is an overambitious housewife who does not know her place.. but you need to get some sense, as a president, you don't make such a statement on the international stage. A man with sense would simply say something like " it's unfortunate" or "no comment" or if must talk "my wife is entitled to her opinion but he people did not vote for her"

You don't in 2016 open your mouth in front of the world's press, next to a woman who is probably the most powerful woman in the world and your host and say that a woman belongs in the kitchen.

If he did what you are saying, l will call him a Hypocrite!
Buhari did not say Merkel (most powerful woman as you say), belongs in the Kitchen
Buhari said MY WIFE.... MY WIFE....MY WIFE belongs in the kitchen
"MY WIFE" makes all the difference!

Are you saying Aisha has suddenly become Merkel and should be treated like Merkel?

Please, read your comment again.
If l use my "Bently" to carry refuse, does it mean others must use theirs as well or that it is theirs l used?

In Prof Wole Soyinka's voice : Aisha is a mere bedroom appendage of Buhari! shocked shocked grin grin

If she craves to be treated like Merkel, then she better be winning the German Chancellorship election soon (not even Nigerian Presidential election)

President Buhari has reacted to the interview his wife Hajia Aisha Buhari granted the British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC) where she said she may not support his re-election bid in 2019 if he so decides to run. Buhari reacted to this interview to reporters in Germany where he stood side-by-side with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Speaking on his wife's interview, President Buhari said, "I don't know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room."

Buhari, who laughed off his initial statement, further told the reporters that he hopes his wife will remember that he ran for president three times before succeeding on the fourth attempt. In his words, "So I claim superior knowledge over her and the rest of the opposition, because in the end I have succeeded. It's not easy to satisfy the whole Nigerian opposition parties or to participate in the government."

http://dawntodusknews.com/wife-belongs-kitchen-living-room-room-president-buhari/

This means that buhari does not support the Gender Equality Nigeria is a treaty to by descriminating her wife's sex as only good in the kitchen. Female activists, pick it from here.

This could be a planned strategy to switch Mrs Buhari come 2019. Politics is very mysterious that you dont believe all based on diplomacy.

She against wise counsel overstepped her boundaries and brought her bedroom talk before the press...

Buhari is an upright man and she being the wife should encourage him and not recklessly run her mouth even without having any office in government so with what authority is she speaking?

Some persons want to use her as a mole in the house while others want to use her to lobby for their interest but Buhari is not having any of that.

The wife of an ordinary bank manager would not even do this how much more the wife of a president.

Those who can read between the lines know whats going on but those who are just looking at his statement will miss the bigger picture entirely.

Aisha like every other woman in Nigeria deserve an apology from the president.
This is not 18th century just in case the President has forgotten.

A democratic President who recognises that the same democratic constitution that brought him into office does not recognise the office of the first lady has spoken absolutely well..

On whose authority is she speaking? Is she a minister or what? She is simply WIFE OF THE PRESIDENT. What she just did is treasonable but Buhari is even laughing it off.

You do not bring deep bedroom talk before world press. What is she A WIFE OR A SPY?
