please urgent help. I want to study bachelor's in nursing. do United Kingdom university accept IELTS? it's general IELTS not British IELTS. justwise please contribute. thanks
You will need IELTS academic for your study, not IELTS general.
Google types of IELTS to understand their functions and who apply for which.

Use it if it has not expired. That's my personal opinion. IELTS is IELTS
Or
The best bet is to tell your school rather than putting yourself in a tight corner.

Hello everyone.Like I promised to give back to this thread. Virtually everything has been dealt with on the thread. I'll add something, also from a lady's perspective.
Instead of buying sim cards from the airport at a high rate, you can get sim cards for free.Google the telecom online and see if you can get it delivered to your UK address for free after you arrive, provided you've got a place to stay already.
You can bring some food stuffs too especially leaves.I haven't seen ugwu or regular nija veggies since I arrived.
To save cost transporting yourself from the airport,Google ahead the diff modes of transport available, you can also book in advance (it's cheaper) if you have booked your ticket.you can just add an hour to the arrival time for immigration logistics.
Ladies can check charity shops for wears.they are cheaper than some stores especially for sweaters and all except you have money to buy from regular stores.
In all,Google virtually everything in advance for your trip,it will give you good perspective of what to expect.
Ladies, bring enough thick underwear/tank tops.it helps with the cold when you have more layer inside.

For the veggies, you can get fresh or frozen ugwu in Nigerian stores, and. Frozen bitter Leaf also. Fresh and frozen spinach (efo) from Asda/Lidl/etc.

Don't know which area you are, in London you can get virtually every Nigerian ingredients. Here in Liverpool even Asian halal stores stock up on frozen bitter Leaf gari, and Nigerian spice.

Ask around for African shop's, you should also try the halal stores also.

What were you applying for when the result wasn't accepted? All IELTS exams (IDP Australia ot British Council) are tested the same way i.e. same exam. However, for immigration to the UK (not non-immigration like going for studies) the same IELTS exam is conducted in a special administrative condition and it is called "IELTS for UKVI". In my opinion, IDP's IELTS can be used to study in the UK except maybe for certain special student visas/certain schools. I may be wrong though but that's why I have asked what you applied for with the IELTS result.

If UK is your first choice destination, then follow guiddoti's advice first by asking your prospective school about that IELTS result being tenable before changing your mind about your study destination.

I applied for a masters degree. The school might accept it but if it listed on your CAS for visa application, UKVI WILL NOT accept it!!

Hi. I live and work in scotland.
For flights, use skyscanner.net to check for all flight options.
For sim cards, there are several lowcost networks like Lebara and Lycamobile, especially for calling Nigeria cheap. As a student, you shouldd have wifi around your school a lot so won't need to buy network data so much, but if you do, I recommend EE, Virgin Mobile, and 3.

I don't know about edinburgh, but There's no lack of nigerian stuff in Glasgow. There are at least 3 dedicated nigerian food stores, and 3 different nigerian restaurants in Glasgow. Also, many nigerian foods can be bought at any large middle-eastern food store, and I'm sure there are several at Edinburgh.

For affordable clothing, Primark is the best option.

Cheers

Hi dear, thanks a lot for the response, well I'm not a student , I'm going to Scotland for work, the company is actually in Perth, but the company said when I get to Edinburgh, they will send someone to pick me up. I would be flying medview airline to London. I want to spend 2 days in London before leaving for Edinburgh, is flight to Edinburgh cheaper than train and coach? Pls for the sim card, I think I will prefer the ones that off better deals in terms of data, though the company is giving me free accommodation, I don't know if free WiFi in inclusive

Flight is more expensive than train is more expensive than coach.
1.5 hrs max flight vs 6hrs max train vs at least 11hrs by coach.
Use Google maps to check estimates of travel times from London to edinburgh.
The earlier you book your tickets, the cheaper it will be.

For sim data, it depends on how long you're staying. You can get a phone contract. I personally avoid phone contracts because they are typically 24 mths. But some give rolling contracts (every month) with option of cancelling at any time, Eg Virgin Mobile.

There are websites like uswitch and gocompare that you can use to compare sim plans.

I just want to add to the best affordable clothing, if you can buy few clothing from primark which you can use for some days, though, I am not a fan of primark. I would advise you target "black friday". You will get cheap discount for good clothing at HnC, burton, TM© etc

Sure! Its around Nov but I have no idea of the date.
Glasgow is the business hub of Scotland, 3rd largest city in the UK. Edinburgh is just the capital of Scotland.
Cheers
I have Google; its 24 nov.
