Sharp woman!! I didn’t know you can use the former NI number given to you. I won’t be going back as a student, do I apply for a new NI or use my old NI no? Don’t worry everything will work out. With that salary, the family will move with you in no time. Congrats on your scholarship. Make us proud o.

NI is only issued once.

Someone please help me out with this. My spouse says he doesn’t pay bills. He just sends the money to his housemate’s account and the bills leave his housemate’s account. But we can’t ask the housemate for his statement of account, that’s very intrusive. Is it mandatory for him to show the bills payments? I don’t know what to do.

Utility bills are not required for a spouse visa application. You only need utility bills for the second (FLR) and third (ILR) stage as proof of cohabitation

Hi @lexusgs430, @justwise @teejay231 and other amazing people here!

Please ooo I have been an ardent follower of this thread and been able to gather a whole lot of information. I read right from page 0 till the very end! So I and my husband are planning to make an application. I am the applicant and my husband the sponsor residing in the UK. I am here. Just to make sure we dot the i's and cross our t's, I would be super grateful to have answers to the below;

1) On my marriage certificate, my occupation was erroneously put as 'public servant'. there is a part that asks about employment history and if I've ever worked for the government. I intend to tick "NO" as I never have, but the discrepancy between my actual occupation and what is on the marriage certificate worries me. Do you think I should explain this in the 'additional notes' section and also back it up with a letter from my employer stating job role, date of joining, etc as part of our supporting documents...or I should simply ignore this?

2) We meet the stipulated requirements and my husband earns more than the 18600 stated, however he has an overdraft in his bank statement (2 months out of the 6 we intend to present have overdrafts). Do you think this would be an issue? Do people get refused on account of overdraft in the sponsor's bank statement?

3) Hubs presently lives in a 3 bedroom flat with 2 other tenants, is property inspection report a must?

3) We met in 2014. Got married this year. But we have no history of our communication between 2014-2015 as we have both had course to change phones and all. But from 2016 till date, we have a truckload of chat history, emails, pictures and all.. would that do despite having met since 2014?

4) Does it matter who does the screenshooting of call history, emails and all? Does my sponsor have to be the one who does it from his end or either party can?

5) Is it okay to print out my bank statement here and highlight times he's sent me money as proof of relationship?

Thanks.

Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by bukkyb1: 4:59pm On Nov 23, 2017
Hi everyone...been following this thread for a while, eventhou it was after I'd applied for my spouse visa in 2015.

Pls read through:

Got married in Dec 2015
Applied in Dec 2015
Refused March 2016...on the basis of not trusting the whole relationship thing was genuine.
Appealed in April 2016
We had our Baby in Sept 2016 in uk, wife and child came and spend Christmas and the new year with me, so loads of pictures were taken and I had a wonderful with them for like a month.
Lawyer advised we get DNA done which we did.
Court date didn't come until June 2017 but was adjourned to October 2017 due to no Judge availability.
Olowogbogboro did it in October 2017, my wife and child went to court with our Lawyer, God used the judge as he was did all the talking for us and went against the HO representative. Our Appeal was accepted.
Decision letter came in Nov. 2017...and so Onise iyanu perfected it, we won on the following grounds: Article 8 of echo and immigration rule appendix FM. HO has bn asked to refund our 140quid. They've been given 28days if they have anything against the decision which I strongly believe won't happen in Jesus name. Our God is awesome.

I want to encourage y'll that everything is gonna end in praise for us all in Jesus name. God will answer your prayers as you stay faithful with Him and your spouse. It's so hard living apart, I miss my wife so so much. It's been very hard but God kept us all. The Lord will perfect it all. LET SOMEBODY SHOUT HALLELUYAH!!!

What does he have at that address? Letter from HMRC? Bank statements? Council Tax bill? Landline bill?

Sorry we don’t know what HMRC is but he has his bank statements. He gets a letter from the council showing what tax he owes every month and no he doesn’t have own a landline (that’s quite posh to own in this day and age grin).

Is his council tax enough?

I was thinking his housemate can write to them telling them that my hubby tranksfers his own share of the bills money to his account then the money leaves his account.

I asked him to find out if he can print a statement of one of the bills’ account to show that his room mate actually pays them but if bills aren’t too much of a necessity, we can skip all this wahala cry

Some of documents you have included are not relevant.

About us - you only need copies of your old passport, English test, application form, children's birth certificates,

Relationship documents- you need to include evidence of communication such as text messages or WhatsApp or Facebook

Maintenance documents- home office doesn't care about bank balance as long as you earn the required minimum and your bank statement and pay slips match the stated income. Documents must also not be older than 28 days.

Accommodation documents- if your husband lives in a rented apartment he needs to get a property inspection report which will state that there is enough space for you and your kids. A letter from the landlord is also okay. Utility bills are irrelevant
, only required for FLR and ILR stages.

Utility bills are irrelevant? What of monthly council tax letters that state what is owed, is this also relevant? I am so happy about this! I will really expect your answer.

Thank you so much for your response.
What about my own maintenance? Do they still expect in to be in the account together with my husband and baby maintenance? I am already in UK since 2 weeks ago and I am trying to bring them in.

You will need to have ur maintenance plus ur hubby nd child's maintenance together in your account for them to be granted. Remember, the required fee has to be for 9 mo this each for the three of you. Wish u D very best.

1) wish I could answer this for you, had a similar problem, put a wrong occupation for hubby grin

2) I don’t think they care about overdrafts, they just want to know that he earns the minimum amount of 18600. His earning more than this can make up for his overdraft.

3) Property inspection or a letter from the landlord. Someone more learned than I am will answer this better.

4) it shouldn’t be much of a worry. Just put what you have then explain, in a letter to them, the missing convos due to phone loss (didn’t you guys chat online? Like FB). As for me, I munched 3 to 4 per month of my convo with my Oga and showed them our daily whatsapp calls for the past year since I returned to Nigeria then sent all our marriage, family and kissy kissy photos to them. They go flinch tire grin

5) No it absolutely doesn’t matter who screenshots and sends the chats and all. I did mine because I have all the resources to do my and I’m more IT savvy than he is (I put mine 6 shots per page and printed front and back, they aren’t reading the chats per say, they just care to know that you chat a lot!).

6) yes you can do this if you want. And explain your highlights in an applicant or sponsor letter.

The experts will give you better answers.

Hi. Sorry about your ban. These agents eh! But, not to sound harsh, a ban is a ban. However, there’s nothing beyond God, now that a child is involved, maybe they can grant you the visa. If you have the funds to try your luck, you can. If you don’t, I will advice you to wait a few more years (it’s not easy though).

There is a kind member here that got his visa granted even went he was a bit short of his maintenance funds, the case officer was kind for the child’s sake. So there’s nothing beyond God.

The experts will shed more light on this, to be best of my knowledge, ban means ban, maybe someone else will have better news. Take it easy. sad

A spousal visa application overrides a ban...... Simply be truthful in your application and submit all the necessary documentations.....

Your spousal visa would be granted....

She can attempt to get a letter from her housing officer, consenting to your stay (they don't always issue it). She can still try though...........

She should submit her council rental agreement + council tax bill + rental statement.........

Thanks a great deal. The challenge is that the 18,600 threshold is beyond us. My wife is just recovering from her maternity and is enjoying some state benefit because she's just about to get into business.and mine also isn't up to that except if we can combine income

That wage threshold is a big hurdle, that your wife would have to scale .........

If she just got into business, is she tax and VAT registered with the HMRC ?

Does she have a business account?

The list of documents required for self assessment, is completely different......

Would your savings bridge the difference?

Thank you very much for our time. My wife has inflows that can meet the threshold reflexting on her bank recordsbut the funds ain't her's.
Even at that what ever difference her personal earnings falls short, my savings can cover. How about the issue of state benefit she is enjoying because I heard they really frown @ such
