Lollz...

If Emdee 590 is a hard core DIYist, he's gonna go ahead and get those tools...

Well, @Emdee590, let me know the model of your system, so I know if I can remove its BIOS lock, then I tell you how much it's going to cost you.

*Cheers *
From little I know, removing a bios lock on some systems is as little as removing the cmos battery. Am I correct?

Hello everyone. I use hp elitebook 8460p. I used a faulty charger to charge my laptop and it went off on its own. i disposed the faulty charger and got a new one, then i noticed that the laptop doesnt charge the battery even after a long while. i put the same battery in another system and it charges normally. I have tried all the troubleshooting options that i found on the internet but it's still the same. Please what else can i do? i even updated the bios too. the issue is just that the battery charge will not increase, despite writing 40% available (plugged in, charging). it'll just remain on the 40%, the other laptop functions are working normally.

It's a motherboard issue, the DC in pin on the charging IC might not be getting the required 18.5 volt to enable the chip take it to an engineer closer to you for check up.

Not all system, just few.

While on some system you need a master reset password or rewriting the bios.

I use the same laptop and I run Adobe After effect on it.

All you have to do is increase the RAM, since the laptop uses 2 ram slot just get another 4gb which will cost you #4k depending on the seller.

I believe yours doesn't have a dedicated memory and I believe it only hang when you run Adobe cc

You need to reload the operating system but note that some times a faulty memory can cause the blue screen.

Click on the Start Button, type Task Scheduler and click enter.
At the left Pane, navigate to: Windows - Update Orchestrater.

On the right pane find all the tasks with upgrade assistant, click on them and disable all active hours

Restart your system.

Definitely, all he needs is more ram. He can increase it to 12gb, just get another 8gb ram + the 4gb.

Since it is Adobe cc which is more than 1 Adobe software.

Hello.
... No, your hard disk should still be OK. However the blue screen might be as a result of a corrupt operating system,i.e the window is corrupt. So "reloading" it means putting another operating system-Putting another window and wiping the old one.

During the process of putting another window, all data on your hard disk is lost- so you'll have to backup your important files before the format.

So, to reload your operating system,
You'll need:
A windows installation disk or flash drive.

An external hard drive casing- this is where you'll put your hard drive from your computer to copy your files to another laptop.

An external hard drive - where you'll copy your important files to.

A screw driver - to loose your laptop and take out the HDD.

A set of drivers -to install the required drivers.

So the process is

Back up your files> Format your laptop > install drivers >pit back your files.

Hmm... splashed view...
Before attempting the "long" suggestion I initially gave, why don't we do further diagnosis?

I'm using Windows 7, with 6gb ram on it. I think running both at the same time is the problem here. Try and run one at a time first to see how it loads.

If problem persist then I'll advice you do a clean install, remove all and install back again or better still reload your operating system and install them back again.

It only get warm, just make sure you always place it on a flat surface, don't put it on your bed, sofa or anything that will prevent the heat from going out.

It's been long I bought mine, I still get up to 3hrs +
