Honestly, if you are waiting to have billions in your account before you get married, you will grow old. Modified: I wanted to wait for me to have certain amount of money, but I couldn't wait any longer, at least I have a job paying me weak 6digit as salary, and my fiancee work in government establishment and also has a sewing shop. UyaiIncomparabl:let us be realistic tho, financial security is a very important factor. Money would influence the level of happiness in the relationship. Life is complex. That 300k wouldn't be enought to start up a family with at least three members. I'm very insecure. If i'm to get married and have kids, i would want them to have the best life has to offer. To have a safe future... I must have a steady, well paying job. He must too. I must have a good amount of money in the bank. Savings to lean back on (just in case). He must too. I must have properties and other assets. He must too. But this is for me. People that have only 100, 300, 900k are getting married. Other might have 5, 7, 10 million can still say they aren't ready financially. The question is "how much would you have in your account before thinking of marriage" The question need individual specific answers. I don't want kids, so even if I earn 50k monthly income with no saving I'll go and marry i.e when I reach 32. So if I can have a girlfriend, what's the difference? biGDhAp:no. Read my other comment.. I believe in being financially independent. Not an attractive quality here in Africa, but that's me. My mum was a widow with no backup. Even tho she married a 'worse than poor' man. If she had something doing, our lives would have been different... If something bad is gonna happen to me in the future, i want as a mother, for my husband to be stable enough to give my kids the life they deserve. CAPSLOCKED: thats because you wrongly assume that marrying someone automatically means having children with that person. there is a HUGE difference between marrying someone AND having a child with that same person. - having a kid is a LIFELONG decision while you can separate from (and subsequently divorce) someone in just a few days. - if you can both survive as a couple before marriage, why should anything be different after signing that piece of paper (aka if you both were happily eating garri before, then thats what you should settle with after marriage) - whether married or single, nobody should ever dream of having children, unless they have the mean to properly care for these children (emotionally, physically and most importantly, FINANCIALLY ) 35 Likes 5 Shares |
