Hello Justwise, Vicjustice and everyone else.

I'll be travelling to the UK for the 1st time in a couple of days. On my visa application form, I booked a hotel. But a family friend has asked me to stay with them so as to save me the cost of staying in a hotel. Will be this an issue at the POE when I fill in her address in my landing card?

Thanks in advance.
This would be an issue if they found out that you have changed your place of stay: and if you lied about it, you would be barred from the UK for ages.
I'd advice you to revert to the status quo and avoid something that may raise questions or you would be returned.

@justwise and Vicjustice Pls help this is my 2nd time of posting this, I wanna visit the Uk for
snr bro graduation ceremony, and I need some enquires
from you, I have a sponsor from naija here, which also
serve as my guardian, but I'm a student, I passed out 3yrs
ago with OND, my guardian has the financial capacity to
sponsor me frm nigeria here, and he's also a dual
nationale, I. e, British and a Nigerian, and he also have a
registered business here. And I have been working under
my guardian since I graduated, I don't have payslip, he pay
by hand, please I need more enquires, what are the docs to
hold while going to the embassy and what else do I need
to know. Thanks in advance.
I suppose you're older than 16, therefore, a guardian is out of the question.
if you're traveling for the purpose of studying, then only your parents or your siblings or spouse may be accepted as your sponsor.
Now, if you intend to travel for leisure (ie visit), then, you're expected to meet the requirements which include self sustainability, documented occupation and evidence of earnings: yet, these are things that you lack.
You are just not eligible for a UK visa.

Hi Everyone,

I was refused family visit visa early May (my first ever uk visa application) because of the following reasons:

1. The ECO did not believe that my relationship with my wife is genuine and susbsiting. In addition, he said he didn't believe I'm related to my daughter as claimed. They are both in the UK.

2. Earlier this year, due to a drop in company revenue, salary was paid in half and the balance at a later date. So, the ECO captilised on this and said my job didn't qualify as home tie. Although I was the architect of my own downfall. I stated the salary thing in my cover letter! Unbelievable. I thought I was being sincere.

I now want to reapply again to visit my wife and daughter. I earn 227k after tax by the way and I will be having like 900k as closing balance.

I will be addressing the refusal points with:

1. I have asked my wife to send our marriage certificate and our daughters birth certificate. I will also add her flight tickets, pictures and chat messages as proof of relationship. This is visit visa o.
2. Things have since normalised at the office and salary is now paid in full.

Here is my conern. My last application was refused under 4.2(a). I looked it up on the internet and what I found is lack of home ties. I don't have any landed property. I only have dependants, my parents and younger sister. The people that are supposed to be my major home ties are the ones I'm going to visit.

Please, vicjustice, justwise and co, what else can I add to my application to make it more convincing?

I suspect you did not present your marriage certificate as well as your kids birth certificates to substantiate your relationships.
Land properties that do not require your managerial attention would not be considered a satisfactory home ties.
Your best ties are supposed to be your job and occupations: and a workplace that pays you N227k should have represented your tie to Nigeria: work on your job tie.

Hello justwise , I applied for a uk visit visa and put travel date to be 6 weeks from date of application, which is less than 3 months stipulates of the uk.gov rules. Kindly advise on the effect of this error on my chances of getting a visa. This error was predicated on the fact that I was not privy to this 3 months rule until I had completed and submited the application and was thereafter redirected to the TLS site where I discovered the error, besides that all other aspects are fine. Your candid advise pls
This is a query from an anxious mind and i do not want to add anxiety or to give false hope: since you have already made the application, i'll suggest you wait for the outcome since nothing can impact the application.

Worry Man, longtime! How you dey? I am renewing my UK visa o but from Saudi!

I used my 6months visa for medical conference to UK back in 2014, without breaking any law.

Trust me, I have all the necessary documents now to apply for visa but my fear is same as the poster above (my planned travel date is September 9th for same medical conference and my visa application date is on Sunday 21st august).

Any ways the reason for delay is because in Saudi, passports for foreign doctors are usually held by Hospital admin till few weeks to vacation! It is well known by everyone. Do I need to add that in my cover letter?? Is it necessary?

BTW, I plan using Visa priority service which usually takes 5days here sha!! Whats your take on that?

NOTE: I have travelled to South Africa, UK, Brazil, Nepal (all for Medical Conferences, with proof certificates)

@justwise @vicjustice how ona reason am??
Second time to buzz u oo, no reply!!
Yall helped me for the 6months visa then if you remember, please need Yall professional advice.... grin
Well, any information that you think would help is fine.
But na wah for these Arab countries, everything about them is an abuse on human rights, even passports are held by employers to prevent employees from quitting at will. What a totalitarian society: ever preferring dictatorship to democracy.

Well, although you did not state the answers that you gave to these very important questions however, I believe that your answers were not satisfying- for example your kind of job and how much you make, and your ties to Nigeria.
Basically these are the reasons that you were refused

vicjustice... Good day boss. I need you guz advise please. I have a fiance who is USA citizen and we are both planning to get marry soon. She wanted to invited me to USA but we are both confused on which way to go about it cus we have little knowledge about this stuff. That was why I came here if any one can enlighten me on best way to go about the visa stuff.. Weather she should come home and we do the intro and other stuff or invite me over. Meanwhile, she just left nija 4 month ago and won't be chance to come home till next yr due to her work. I will be happy if anyone here can advise and tell me which way we can make this work out. Thank you
As you are not yet married to her, her American citizenship has little or no influence on your visa application. You would have to meet the requirements like any other visa applicant.
She can either send you an invitation letter or you may book a hotel. If you decide to stay in her accommodation, ensure she is not living in a shared property.

Please my wonderful peeps,

This is the breakdown of my husband budget, we reduce it from 12 to 9 days
pls am about to submit please make corrections, if am wrong

How much do you spend each month on living costs?
65

How much of your total monthly income is given to your family members and other dependants?
0
What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)? 0

The total amount of money you have for this trip
750
The cost of the aeroplane, boat or train tickets
600

The cost of your accommodation- I filled 0 becos the reservation is for 2 persons but am not applying, though the cost of the accommodation is 368……this is the part that is confusing me

The cost of your living expenses – 150

Who is paying for this trip- My Wife

How much will they be paying towards your trip? - 750

now my confusion is do I add the amount of the accommodation to make it 1168 pounds or leave it at 750 pounds by excluding the cost of the hotel

Cc,justwise Askari, frontpagelawyer, vicjustice, fakmurphy and any with similar experience..pls all the gurus make inputs

God bless you.
I think i got it now.
Well, you were asked about the amount that you would be spending for the trip, and that include the accommodation cost and the estimated costs of other expenses. So, combine them and give a round figure for example "£1200 Approximately".
By the way, what do you mean by 65 in relation to your monthly living cost?

You presented a complicated story, the figures are difficult to understand.
By the way, you stated that this is a breakdown of your husband's budget (and that makes me to assume that you are the wife), yet, you said your "wife" is paying for the trip.

Simply address the letter to the authority that demands for it or to the embassy in which their visa application are to be made, and compose the letter as i sampled in the opening post.

Hello there @vicjustice. I applied for a France tourist visa sometime in October 2015 but was denied , no 8 was ticked on the piece of paper giving to me on my collection date . February this year I got married to my Danish woman right here in Nigeria at the ikoyi Registery, she just moved to Sweden in June , now she is waiting to get her personal number first then get settled . We are considering she invites me over as my wife for a short visit to Sweden then maybe from there we can apply for my resident permit while visiting not really sure how it works , Is there any chances of me obtaining a visa If we use this method ? Your advice would be highly appreciated thanks
Marriage to an EU citizen is one thing, but proving that your marriage is credible and is sustained is another. If you've only just married and then she moved back to Europe, then, the onus is on you to prove that the marriage is credible and is sustained: you can either prove these by your pre-marital relationship which must involve reasonable physical presence with each other and activities, or (if you don't have convincing pre-marital experiences,) you prove the credibility of your marriage by your current relationship: you need a bit of physical presence with each other as electronic contacts is not sufficient.
Bear in mind that visa delaying is a tactic that Embassies use to try such marriage: the embassies are used to seeing people who got married to Europeans with the expectation of migrating soon after, but when visas were delayed, their European spouses went on with their lives etc.
What would you say about your relationship and correspondences?

8. The information submitted regarding the justification for the purpose and conditions of intended stay was not reliable.
9. Your intention to leave the territory of the member states before the expiration of the visa could not be ascertained.
...these were the reasons my visa was first denied.

Your previous failed applications will definitely be looked into, and the onus is on you to satisfy the visa officer that you are not migrating. The below quote is for you as well:
Vicjustice:
Let me use this opportunity to explain the issue regarding student visa application and home ties: now, unlike tourist visa application that strongly demands applicants to demonstrate convincing ties, students are expected to demonstrate why they chose the course, why the school, what their sponsor will gain from their education and what they intend to do after their studies.

Reasons being I have been refused visa twice last year by Lithuania for a tourism visa and now, I have been admitted in Prague College Czech Republic. My fear and question is, is this previous denials not going to hinder my student visa application? Please what is your earnest advice? Thanks.
I do not know the reason of your previous refusals, so, i can't advice. However, the outcome of your student application will have much to do with the opinion of the visa officer, whether s/he suspects that your application is a desperate attempt to migrate or you have a genuine intention. Therefore, while your previous refusals may play a role, the reasons for the refusals would be a significant factor.

I'm going for a sponsored academic conference and the amount for the conference was paid in February that is six months ago. So I plan to go with six months statement of account and six months pay slips. Hope this is in order. @ vicjustice
What they want to see is an account statement with sufficient funds and details of their sources and other meaningful transactions: there's nothing wrong if you need a six months statement to show these things.

I'm of the opinion that this questions would not have been raised if this is genuinely the schedule of the company: I'll therefore warn you to be careful to avoid suspicion of deception.
To answer your question, a private company can do what the management wants it to do.

No, the land neither needs your management nor your presence, therefore, it can not be deemed as something representing your tie.

Justwise, sorry to bother you again. I have started my visa application and I'm confused about what is meant by 'place of issue' and 'issuing authority'. It says as it is written in the passport, but on my passport ( which I did in Jos), there is no place written as place of issue whereas Jos itself is under the column for authority.
Thanks
Place of issue: that is the city, town, or district etc where the passport was issued (to you), for example, Benin City.
Authority (or issuing authority) means the code number or ID of the office that issued the passport (to you), for example 454. Refer to the bio-data page of your passport for these info.

If the PP has fake stamps!
Destroy the PP, record the number then burn it.

Then apply and pay for replacement stating that original has been lost or destroyed.
This will cost money, that is the lesson you learn from using an agent!

If you use the PP with fake stamps you face a very long ban, your choice.
To add to the above, even if you don't have the passport number, you can still get a replacement.

Declare that passport damaged and apply for a new passport before you get banned. Report the syndicate to get arrested, and that will be one less crook off the life-ruining business

Change of circumstances can make a person stay longer or shorter than the number of days that is specified in the application form, so there won't be any issue provided you did not stay beyond the duration of stay.
It is more than likely that you will not be asked about it, but in the case that you are asked, be prepared to have an answer for it. Give a simple answer like "we eventually stayed longer than expected because we barely had enough time to satisfy our interests".You could be asked to explain what you were doing in the country. These are unlikely scenarios, but it is good to be handy with prepared answers.
