Politics › Re: Tinubu: The Plan To Take Lagos From The Yorubas Revealed by 00FFT00(m): 2:23pm On Aug 28, 2023 |
lexylaw40: The Jagaban is guilty too. During his tenure as governor, he appointed an Igbo as Commissioner for Budget and Planning. He appointed Igbo as Permanent Secretaries. 20% of teachers in Lagos state schools were Igbo. There sere 5 Igbos in the State House of Assembly with one of them trying to sponsor a bill that would make English the only language in the State Assembly. Two Igbos were elected as Members of the House of Reps, representing Lagos in Abuja...
They then tempted Jimmy Agbaje of PDP. They asked him to sign an undertaking before Igbos could vote for him. They wanted: 1. 35% of all new recruitments into Lagos civil and, teaching serviced and all Agencies 2. 35% of Permanent Secretaries in Alausa. 3. Three Igbo Commissioners to be appointed and given key portfolios like Finance, Lands and Establishment. 4. The Igbo Eze of Lagos to be a upgraded to First Class Oba and admitted into the Lagos State Council of Traditional Rulers. They claimed they produced 65% of the States tax revenue (their man was Commissioner for Budget and Planning).
Could you believe that Jimmy Agbaje actually accepted all these in his desperate determination to be Governor after Tinubu? It was the reason the angry Oba of Lagos rebuked and threatened that he would drive all Igbos into the Atlantic Ocean if they didn't vote for Fashola.
In all sincerity, the Yoruba in Lagos need to take proper ownership and charge of the city
I'm started that they have started. After the threat of Oba of Lagos and the failure of Agbaje, Uzor Orji Kalu was rude to the Oba of Lagos. He said Lagos was no-man's-land. The lousy Igbo senator said Lagos was a mangrove forest. That it was the Igbos who developed Lagos... Fashola sent his team to check the status of the payment of land use charge of Kalu in his houses in Parkview and Lekki. He was owing N15m. Fashola's men sealed both houses. They gave Kalu two weeks to pay or the houses would be demolished. He shouted on TV and took newspaper pages to complain of victimisation. He went to court. He sent emissaries to Fashola. No respite. A day to the deadline, bulldozers moved and parked in front of the sealed houses. Kalu rushed down from his Eastern forest ghetto to pay. He then knew that Lagos was not a no-man's- land.. Lagosians and Yorubas in general should exert more authority on Lagos, otherwise we may become minorities in our homeland.
Those of you who want to vote for non Yoruba presidential candidates in next year elections should be very careful and have a rethink. This is not a campaign for Tinubu at all, far from it. It is a campaign of sensitisation for the survival and PROTECTION OF ALL YORUBA LANDS and her endowments and natural resources. Nigeria is a country made up of different Nations with individual's pursuits of her own agenda. Some of these nationalities are envious of Yorubas because of the nature of Lagos, its location and position among other factors, and would wish history is falsified in order to change the demographic status of Lagos from being a Yoruba land to become, "a no- man's-land" as they call it. That is, indirectly changing it to become their own. It has been a long time ambition and aim which must not be allowed to happen. You're right, this is not a campaign for Tinubu, this is tribal baiting laced with the usual dose of hatred against your favorite nemesis. Let me repeat for your benefit, Lagos was the mangrove Orji Uzor spoke of and yes, Igbo largely brought Lagos to where it is today. If Igbo occupied the positions you claim, what makes you think they were served on a platter? In Nigeria?, in an ethnically Yoruba dominated state? There was a reason. Merit. I know this information is a bitter pill to swallow, but it is what it is. I don't know how old you are, but ask your relatives what Lekki Phase One looked like in the early 90s. Yes, the early 90s. And while you're at it, ask them what Isolo, Amuwo and the rest looked like in the late 70s and early 80s. Let me give you some valuable advice: stop hating those whose destiny you cannot reverse. Smart Yorubas are joining forces with their Igbo brothers on a daily basis and the synergy is paying off massively. Find your nearest Igbo who knows what he or she is doing and align with them. An old saying in my village goes like this. "The reason a poor man befriends a rich man is because if he does not vomit, he will defecate; either way, something will fall out of him that the poor man needs. Stop the hatred, then stop the lies. |
Politics › Re: Legendhero Declares Support For LP Olumide Akpata As Next Edo State Governor by 00FFT00(m): 1:59pm On Aug 28, 2023 |
LegendHero: I am using this thread to express my full support for Olumide Akpata to become the next governor of Edo State under the Labour Party.
I have two main reasons for choosing to endorse Olumide akpata.
— Olumide hails from the Apata family, who proudly originated from the Yoruba people and have assimilated well into Edo state. This would make Olumide the first Yoruba man to govern Edo state. Additionally, with his experience as NBA chairman, he would be capable of governing Edo state according to the rule of law and improving the state.
— Despite Olumide's affiliation with the Labour Party, and considering that I am a strong supporter of President Bola Tinubu, I still offer my support to him because Lamidi Apapa is now fully in charge of the Labour Party. Apapa is known as a disciplinarian and a determined fighter. With him leading the party, I am confident that he will guide the Labour Party to victory in the upcoming governorship election.
Finally, Edo state is a no man’s land. Whether someone is Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Esan, Benin, or Nupe, Edo is highly developed and can allow anyone competent to govern the state.
While some individuals argue that it's Edo central's turn, they represent the minority opinion. Thus, I am confident that Olumide Akpata will emerge as the next governor of Edo state.
May God bless Edo State, May God bless Olumide Akpata, May God bless Lamidi Apapa, May God bless President Bola Tinubu, And may God bless Nigeria. Tribal warlord on the prowl. I know there to be a lone no-mans land in Nigeria, and it is Lagos. #Edonobelagos |

Nigerians will not be intimidated. Tinubu is a citizen like anyone of us. I recall Orji Uzor, Chris Ngige and and now Udom Emmanuel telling Tinubu openly that they all served as governors and cannot be intimidated by him. Nigeria is not Togo or Benin republic. This country wrestled down IBB, Sani Abacha, even ObJ's third term agenda. I am confident we will get it right with Tinubu in the fullness of time. |

garfield1: That is why you need to forget the case.theres no way you will win tinubu if you really understand law and politics Well, why don't we just wait and see how that pans out?. You may agree that acquiescing to your assumption is an invitation to anarchy. Tinubu is no more a citizen than any of us, therefore answerable to the same laws as we are. It is not a matter of law or even politics as you would want anyone to believe, but crass graft in furtherance of an ongoing disenfranchisement of the people. It stands to be corrected, hopefully. America's Tinubu currently sits on multiple indictments. |

Kingosytex: Tinubu’s life is really a mystery but I must admit that the grace upon him is something else. He became a senator, governor, and president on his first attempts. Man carries grace. Remember Evans, the kidnapper?. If he was not caught, and he continued to kidnap and collect millions of dollars in ransom payments. Then used that money to run for political office, which is always possible in Nigeria. Now, continuing in that criminal enterprise, if he became a governor, then a senator, then president, would he still fall under your grace definition?. If not, what then is the difference between Evans and the impostor who now calls himself president?. |
