Wow, this is the Nigerian Airforce. This is the Northern Nigerian Air-Force, and these guys are soooooooooo ready for any sessionists who wanna break this country into 2. Seems like the early Nigerians accept this reality, and people start focusing totally on their region, the better.... Get inspired, visit www.inspired.com.ng for your daily inspirational dose! |

~Bluetooth: I have no problems with oour infantry.. Infact, they have the upper hand over the french on ground due to their familiarity with the environment (African geurilla warfare, terrain, ecology, e.t.c).. However, in the skies, its a different matter. If those rebels happen to have laid their hands on a stinger missile, then those our MIGs are in deep shiit!! Whilst our pilots would have to manually outrun and outmanuver those missiles, the french Mirages would do less work with the aid of decoy flares and such... I thought Abacha bought some F-18s on the black market that some were seized by the Isrealis. I hope they have been recovered.. 1 Like |

segzi cres: So naija doesn't hv 1 "apache. (•̩̩̩̩͡_•̩̩̩̩͡) We don't need the Apache helicopter. The Mi-35 Hind attack helicopters in our inventory are way more rugged, armoured, way faster, and carry a vast array of deadly armaments. There's a reason it's called Satan's Chariot/crocodile. |

igbo2011: How much of these are manufactured in Africa? We need to make our own bombs, planes, weapons, drones, etc. We musn't rely on foreigners to supply us forever. WHat if World War III happens? If we are fighting America why would they give us weapons to fight them? Provide electricity first before you talk of manufacturing warplanes. Jet fighter no be keke Napep o! But you have a point. We need to be forward-thinking and self-reliant in strategic issues like national/regional security. |

I don't know Jack about the types of war planes you guys are talking about. However, I am concerned about the implications of this move on the peace of this nation. Those fundamentalist already have dozens of reasons why they hate Nigeria. I don't think it is in our own best interest to keep sending our troops to go and fight outside . We already have enough in our hands to deal with. This assistance means Nigeria would be losing enormous amount of material and human resources. 1 Like |

Operational history Most actions carried out by the F-7 have been air-to-ground missions. In air-to-air missions, there have rarely been any encounters resulting in dogfights. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu_J-7 This planes are antiques mehn, even at $3mill |

gst101: i personally think we deserve something better than the j-7s. F-16s and one or two f-22 isnt going to be too bad.haha think agin, america will never give any country its f-22 multirole stealth fighter jet for any reason. |
Re: Nigerian Warplanes Head To Mali by kawkab: 10:04am On Jan 17, 2013 |
Kudos to the Nigerian Air Force and the Nigerian Military (the best fighting force in Africa). They have proven it over and over again. In this case the rebel and jihadist would start shitting in their pants when they hear that the Green White Green flag and the strength of the eagle would be landing. We may not have gotten everything right, but gradually we are getting there. At present the Liberian and Sierra Leonian economy has a heavy Nigerian Presence, same for Sao Tomme and Principe and majority of West African Country. lets wish our men the best as the first batch leave for their duty tour/combat role for 6 months. |

how much is the f-16 and f-22? They are not up to 30million USD each one. One of the f-7s costs 15million USD. We bought 15 of them in 2009. I personally think that money should have been used to buy the 16s and 22s. |
Re: Nigerian Warplanes Head To Mali by leslieu63(m): 10:10am On Jan 17, 2013 |
just 5 american f-22 stealth fighter jet or russia Sukhoi T-50 stealth fighter, can take out a hundred Chengdu F7s and alphas combined, imagine fighting what u cant see. |
Re: Nigerian Warplanes Head To Mali by vislabraye(m): 10:13am On Jan 17, 2013 |
I hope we have a lot to gain from this war. Make we no dey show ourself if nothing dey for us O. One question is this: Can't France handle this alone? If they can, why bother? We can handle the ground battle confidently. I suggest the French team takes care of the aerial offence. |
