Aside of the goal, I was more impressed with his link up and creativity. Omo he reminded me of Nwankwo kanu. My advise to kelechi is "Consistency, Hardwork, Seriousness. Please you are talented enough to be African best stay consistent and focused

I'm saying it again, Iheanacho is the best player in the world now. Ignore the goal and the assist, look at his touches and confidence on the ball. Orgasmic!
Lol he is in form but let's be more humble. He should conquer Africa 1st

That 2010 team was one of the best Nigerian teams in a world cup tournament. But the coach cost us! Yakubu, Mikel, Martins, Ogbuke, Taiwo etc.

But our people will rather we kiss an English reject Backside (eze) instead of supporting, Advocating and helping nwakali grow. Nigerians are obsess with anything foreign

Nigeria did not play better than any of the teams they faced in 2002 WC, we were woeful and it was expected because of the calibre of teams we faced. The 2010 WC was the worst though
We played better than Sweden go and rewatch that game. Crossbar twice, missed chancea

Joao Felix did worse

If na proven striker like lukaku and co we go understand
No it isn't for 90 mil do you think napoli was expecting a 10 goals return for 90 million dollars?? You're saying it from a Nigerian fan perspective. But, 10 goals a season will show that osimehn is capable of impressing in Seria A and considering the injuries he sustained and covid 19, we can expect more goals

Osihmen currently on 7 goals, if he can get to 10 goals, I'll consider it a successful season for a player that has faced injury and covid 19 challenges.
Then what will you say about simy that has scored 19 league goals. 10 goals for 90 million a year isn't good enough but it shows that osimehn is capable of scoring in Seria A and given more time, he can excel. I just hope that Nigerian fans humble theirself and stop making asanine statements

Exactly. Starting from the Jersey, everything was ordained to be a disaster. We were in group of death though.
Nigeria played better than Sweden in 2002 and Was equal to England and this is even with many inexperienced players only bad game was against Argentina (one of our worst ever) but 2010 was Bad. We were bad in all games except last 30 minutes vs Korea and our group was much weaker

It's not matter of belief, almost every country always believe that they r good enough 4 the trophy, but usually the team with the best quality wins.
We have the squad to dominate Africa for the next 5 years, but not the world stage.

At the world stage is a different ball game,
U will need
2 very good wing backs ,
At least one top defender ,
A very good goal keeper.
A top DM/CDM,
A world class or near world class AM,
A top attacker
In general,u need at least 3 world class or near world class players to truly compete for the WC trophy.
U r still going to need luck, faith,a good coach and discipline ..
Apart from all these, every other thing would b by luck
Coupled with the fact that African teams get unfavorable draws due to the Ranking system, Biased Officiating and by Default "Fewer teams" (5). Even the Quarter finals Issa blessings (if we get there)

Since there are plethora of inform Strikers and wingers available and to be able to maximize our strengths and potential, what do you guys think of a 352 or 3412 formation? Should we convert our wingers to RWB and LWB because due to many inform Strikers, we have to select a 2 striker system and a 442 flat formation is extremely Risky. What do you guys think?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by 12large1: 8:59am On Apr 26, 2021
I am proud and impressed with our forward line present performances. But, let's not forget that SE has always produced Decent/Good strikers. Infact, in the dark "super chickens" Era, we had the likes of Martins, yakubu, osaze, Kalu uche, Ike uche, Obasi, obinna, Anichebe, utaka, Ideye all scoring and impressing at their clubside. Did they win any trophy for SE? No. Were they impressive at 2010 world cup, No. Infact, 2010 was SE worst ever world cup performance wise despite having these sharp shooters aforementioned. Anyway, my point is that let's not overestimate our present inform Strikers and we must place serious emphasis on Finding top notch Midfilders to compliment Ndid, etebo, Aribo and also good Defenders to compliment Zaidu, Ebuehi, Aina. Right now, there should be a solid search on Finding a Talented "Attacking Midfielder", Center backs and also adequate replacement in those positions to even mandate or anticipate an ANC win or a WC quarter-finals position.

The likes of Nwakali, Ejaria, and should must be invited in our next game while the search for Adequate CB must continue. Personally, I haven't been impressed by Ekong and Balogun combination and although they're the best available option now, we have to keep searching.

SE Strengths - Strikers
Wingers
Defensive Midfield (because of ndidi and etebo)

SE weakness - Attacking Midfield
Center backs.

Come to think of it, why Is it difficult for super eagles to produce "Attacking Midfielders"? despite the fact that okocha is many Nigerians ? Our upcoming youth/adolescent needs to Be coached on being a solid Attacking Midfieldera

Pray tell me sir, how many Brazilian defenders of note you remember? They have won the world cup how many times? Brazil focuses on attack and midfield..defenders mostly home based..but they pulled it off. We can do the same. Never write us off. Our players playing week in week out is enuf.
Cafu, Carlos, Lucio all world class defenders. Yes, we can still achieve a quarter final place with our present squad contigent on our performance and good Luck favoring us. But, never underestimate the importance of a Solid Defense.

Nwakaki and Ejaria are CM while Olise plays as an AM.
But what does Olise possess that Nwakaki and Ejaria doesn't?
The fact is that the trio of ejaria, nwakali and olise all perform at their various division 2 leagues and if I see no reason why Nigerians should campaign for olise or ejaria invitations when nwakali is available. I'm convinced that if nwakali was a dual citizen nigeria/Spain, people will campaign for his invitation. I don't know why Nigerians are obsessed with anything Foreign. PSI, we can invite all 3 of them contigent on their availability and whoever impresses the most stays while the least impressive one leaves. #Loveyourselffirst

I dont think you realized what those midgets did to us in the late 2000's. Smashed us 4 - 1 and called it brenford massacre, beat us again 2 1 in 2008 ANC and labeled us "super chickens" abegi all we're saying is give us GHANA in the final round of world cup. Generational talent that SE is witnessing and going by previous trajectory, it might only last for few years

It's not about starting from the bench or not.. It's about proper servicing. The boy has proven over and over again that with a right pass, just leave the ball with him and he will surely deliver. He needs to get good passes over and over again in games for him to deliver a lot of goals. All top 9's all around the world rely on passes to score. Even though they may miss some, at least they get up to 4 key passes in a game and try as much as possible to convert at least one. In Napoli, Osimhen has to make sure he scores with every single pass because in an entire game, he may get only one good pass
He also has to learn how to position himself properly like today but with all due respect, it's only his 1st season in Italy and at 22 he has more opportunities to get it right. World class goal today for me.

I will still take Victor Moses over all super eagles winger at this time walahi. My brother, I tire oh, Rohr is just too daft to pressure our star players back in. By now, Emenike and Ighalo should be upfront, in a 442 formation. Victor Moses and Haruna Lookman on the wings. Onazi and Mikel for midfield. Efe Ambrose should have been the solution to our RB problems by now, dude is seriously better than our current options. And i don't know why Ejide is not leading our goalkeeping options. NFF must pressure rohr to look into this.
As sarcastic as you sound, it is actually sad that non of those players you listed are over 34 years old and it's only ighalo that even have a chance on returning back to SE. Nigeria footballers need to do better consistent and Longevity wise because it makes no sense why players will lose motivation and form for SE just after few years of reading Super Eagles
