Boogiebee: Hello Nairalanders,
So straight to the point. Please I need your advice about two things.
1. I just got my inheritance and I got cash of 8M and there's this popular belief of people squandering their inheritance,I don't want that to be my portion so which business can I invest it into. For context, I currently have a job and I'm not ready to quit so please put that into consideration.
2. My younger brother is still a student so he has asked me to save his portion of 6M in bank until he graduates but I don't think that's a good idea. I would rather he put it in some form of secure investment that will be yielding something. Kindly give us suggestions.
May the soul of my beloved Father continue to rest in peace. Amen Better buy landed property that would appreciate later. Some people are saying open dollar account. Do you know if the next govt would come up with a favourable policy that would strengthen the naira. |

Primusinterpares: Bros... 7up is the official producer of Pepsi in Nigeria o. They have other products to their name... Like aquafina water, mountain dew, Pepsi, 7up, mirinda and 2sure sanitizer. Perhaps they are in the food and beverage industry so that amount should not be too big for them 7up pays well . Arinze001: Heisann Alle (Hello Everyone)!
I will be attending to intelligent and researched questions about Norway. I started the application last fall (some schools start October, most November, few December and January). I applied to 3 schools (received 2 admissions) but deep down wanted my top priority school which I got - University of Stavanger.
Let me talk about Universities' applications: Most Norge universities exempt Nigerians from submitting an English Proficiency test 'cept for University of Oslo and University of Southern Norway (the latter was the school that gave me a rejection though it was envisaged, I have no ielts or TOEFL). My advise is to go for the schools that exempt Nigerians from the ielts and TOEFL test, but, if you've it, it's a PLUS. For most schools, we are to courier our transcript to the host university. It's part of the application. The last is the block sum of NOk 126357 which we are to submit through a bank statement showing you've the sum + an accompanying sponsor's letter (for those that are being sponsored - like me). CGPA requirements: On their websites, they indicated the minimum requirement to be 2:1. In practical, that's not really the case. Norway and other EU countries use the ECTS arrangement which means if you studied English as an undergrad, you're to continue that way. You can't apply for an MSc. In Artificial Intelligence or msc. In Applied Finance and Analytics. Most people got a rejection because they acted funny. I know someone that studied Economics with a 2.94 that applied for an Msc. In Economics that got accepted likewise someone that got 2.74 in Philosophy that also got accepted for MSc. In related course. That's the secret, no CROSS-CARPETING lol
This is all for the study application phase.
The Waiting Period This is the period where we have to wait for feedbacks vis-à-vis our applications. The waiting period differs from schools and programmes. Some got admission in early February, some in early and late March, some April, extreme cases in May. After you've gotten an admission, the next step is to transfer the NOk 126,527 you presented during the application to the host school. We all used FORM A, getting official USD rate from the Central Bank. I'll advise everyone to use USD if in Nigeria as your transacting currency to avoid bogus conversion charges. After paying the sum and you've received a Confirmation of Deposit from the Host university, you immediately apply for your study visa + residence permit which comes with a Schengen sticker.
Visa Process. Norge's visa process is pretty seamless, no long wait period, no interview except rare occasions, no calling on the phone to book an appointment or whatsoever. It's super fast - easy to get an appointment date and the documents to submit are readily available.
Note: You receive your Nok 126,357 immediately you've gotten a Norwegian bank account and you receive all. It's not like others where you receive it monthly. So, one could do as he/she pleases with his/her received money.
I think that's all.
Ser du i norge (See you in Norway)! So norwegian universities accept 2.2 |

Love4all24: I’ve been looking for a way to get the attention of the public to our plight. My street is constantly flooded when it rains in Asaba. People’s houses get flooded with waters and cars get damaged. We have tried severally to get the attention of relevant authorities to help us but we are not successful. We spoke to the Catholic Church in my street to help but they couldn’t. We met with the traditional ruler and asked for help still nothing happened. We are tired, distraught and sad and our investments lose values on a daily. The water moves refuse dumps into our houses. Our children get sick. The photos included here were taken 2 days after rainfall. It’s a lot worse when you see it first hand.
We need urgent help. The name of my street is Definite Destiny Hotel road. Please help push to front page so we can get the help we do desperately need. Where be this place for Asaba |

GodIsGreat21: I have been a silent follower of this thread and I must say that all the information anyone needs regarding Irish study is here! I applied for visa second week of July and by God's grace my visa was approved recently. Please if you are new to this thread, plan to read through from page 1 to the current page. It may appear stressful, but I tell you, it contains a lot of credible information as regards how to go about your application. So make out time to look through this thread as I feel every possible question has been covered.
I want to also mention that it is important one learns to be proactive about his/her application. If you have applied, don't wait for notification by email, call or sms before you begin checking the status of your application online. Weekly decisions are released every month here: https://www.dfa.ie/irish-embassy/nigeria/our-services/visas/weeklydecisionreports and sometimes you may not even get an email or phone call when your visa is out. So it is your duty to monitor and know when it is released and work towards getting your documents back.
For those applying for visa, please ensure you have every document mentioned for your visa type in hand. And make extra two copies of each. Also arrange them in order to avoid confusion when submitting. I was fortunate to have one of the staff at the VFs office help me, it was a lot of documents to handle at once, so better arrange them separately before going as some of them don't have patience to wait once it's your turn. Also include as much certifications or awards as you can as supporting documents in your application. Other information as regards what to submit on this thread are true. But still check this site: https://www.irishimmigration.ie/coming-to-study-in-ireland/what-are-my-study-visa-options/how-to-apply-for-long-term-study-visa/ . And please don't lie in your application. Best bet to be honest!
Above all else, after submitting last month, it was prayer season. Prayers work! Pray about it to the God you believe in.
I want to specially thank ICasNg and every other person who has made useful contributions to this thread. God bless you all and please say a prayer for me as I begin this next phase of my life. I wish everyone still applying or expecting a decision success in their endeavors! What was the total cost of implication before you got your visa. Everything tuition inclusive |

Dubemcapital1: The former arrangement that was made to fence the plot before we came in, may have made a mistake down the line. When we get to the site yesterday morning We discovered that the width of the land is not up to 50ft but 42ft. This affected our intention but will have to reschedule.
We have 3 options :
1) bring down the fence and adjust 2) redesign the building to 2bedrooms Or 2bedrooms with a pent house
However we shall update you the option we finalize on Like what would be the cost to build four flats of 3bedroom ensuite |
