Jobs/VacanciesRe: Executive Management Support Urgently Needed by 1forall: 1:42pm On Jun 27, 2012
Not convincing pal, your website www.lingtonandbernie.com contains no contact address or phone number. That is not normal for a consultancy firm as big as you claim on the site.

We need to be convinced beyond doubt that this vacancy you've advertised is not phony as it's not even advertised on your website hence your contact modified.

Try harder next time.

cmcareers: JOB DESCRIPTION:
A reputable financial service company trading on exotic products requires hard working and goal driven personnel to fill the following vacant position:
I'm afraid this is too little information for candidates. We need DETAILS especially as this is your first post and using a free mailbox for correspondence (notice it has been modified).
Please provide more information about these vacancies, thank you.

It is good to read some of the responses so far.

OP everything is peculiar about Nigeria. There are a number of topics on the first page offering advise and guidelines for job seekers on NL. I'm not sure u read thru, but the way things are these days demands your scrutiny over these advertised job 'vacancies'. Its an unfortunate sign of the times and we all need to be extra perceptive.

Virtual Health Resources? Again? Now an IT company? Lol! grin
CareerRe: What Are My Chances In The Labour Market. by 1forall(mod): 2:46am On Jun 27, 2012
OP what school did you finish from? Are u still serving right now?

If u have identified the field in which u want work experience start to write a skill-based CV highlighting ur skills and extracurricular activities. Job hunting can be a full time job in itself so start searching now. modify ur CV as necessary for each position u apply for and save all correspondence with prospective employers for your reference.

Learn interview skills as you hope and wait to be called - hopefully your class of degree should get you noticed - and practice them when you get the opportunity. IF you bungle the first couple of interviews take them as rehearsals for the one that'll fetch you your job.

As you said you like the academics have you thought of professional qualifications within your field?

PDP Holding Co. Ltd?! Nigeria is a very sick country and sadly, many of its citizens are not far behind in ailment - now some say a political party has the right to own and operate a business!

A simple internet search would show you that those numbers are not Novotel Heathrow's, in fact those are mobile numbers.

See http://www.novotel.com/gb/hotel-1551-novotel-london-heathrow-airport/location.shtml
for the genuine contact details. If it's too good to be true I'm afraid it usually is.

Why build a house for your Mom when you cant even pay your mortgage??

It just doesn't make any sense to sacrifice the nuclear family's comfort to build a house for his mother. We're not talking about buying a car or paying medical bills here. House building is a major financial project in the Nigerian context. If it's that important to him then that house might just be meant for him though he can't/won't prevent the family from moving in there.

So he ONLY pays his mobile phone bills? Are you really serious?? If true then that brother sure is one selfish fella!

A simple search using the domain name in the email address (jofsolicitors.com) would have helped you guys.

They're located on Broad Street in Lagos.

Kadarva: It's unfortunate that it had to come to this. It's also unfortunate that we've not heard your husbands side of things and are constrained to make comments based on what you have said alone.
That said, my opinion from your account is that you married someone selfish. He cuts the impression of someone who entered into the marriage for economic/immigration reasons in the first place. From my experience in the UK, there are many immigrant men who are ready to do anything to stay even if it means taking marriage vows or fathering children. It doesn't matter to them as long as their aim is achieved.
It's a shame that you have to go through this and I do hope that you both find a mutually agreeable settlement for your children's sake.
this my dear is the destiny of every foreigner[ especially white married to a nigerian]
sorry to say but u are a weak woman, if u like whine about how insensitive and wicked we nigerians are and how insensitive my post is
the problem with u people is that u do not value the institution of marriage and u neva valued it right from the start, u just wanted somebody to make u feel good always and live in a fantasy world without sacrificing, soory but u are to individualistic
come back here when u are finally married to mr.right, maybe that wld be in 10yrs time when u wld have divorced like 3 more men
Why such negative, antagonistic comments and baseless accusations?? Do you know her personally? Going to the extent of suggesting future divorces for the OP is evil and pathetic!

Months ago when the OP started this topic you posted these:
@op, welcome to yoruba culture, ur MILs behavior is typical yoruba behavior( they r jst too rude). I dont mean to be a tribalist but that is d fact. I know many Nlers wud attack me but let dem be honest with themselves. Elderly Yoruba women tend to be very rude and noisy

@deepsoul, thank u very much my sista. That was what i was trying to explain without lookin like a tribalist. Everyone knows dat yoruba culture places d highest emphasis on respect but their respect is forced and that makes dem very saucy nd rude at will, they can say d most thoughtless things in some serious occasions and they dont mind embarassin themselves
Now that she has decided to get a divorce (with her reasons), all of a sudden you are attacking the OP and suggesting its her fault? Why do you sound like you have something against foreigners marrying Nigerians? You must be toeing the same line as her husband to have come back so abrasively or simply a VERY confused individual. Best to seek help before its too late.

And meanwhile the Delta FA has blamed Christian Obodo for getting himself kidnapped, accusing him of showing off!

His wrongdoings according to FA spokesman Timi Ibikagbaro were clubbing on saturday night and driving a car with a personalized number plate 'Obodo 5', in general 'showing off and attracting unnecessary attention'.

I'd say it's always better to include your application letter (also called a cover letter) as the email message. It's the right thing to do.
