I tell you something, the reason this militants issue lingered this long is cause of the government negotiated with a group of rent seeking terrorists who don't care that their communities are been polluted by oil exploitative activities as long as they get paid. What happens to the environment and the dwellers of the communities who are mainly women and children, how do they benefit from amnesty or, what has changed in the Niger Delta region since the inception of amnesty that's has gulped billions of naira? The current quagmire in the ND is representative of the way an average Nigerian reasons, Sharp sharp 'fixing', how do you sustain the payment this amnesty (rent) if you like and why does government not care about other individuals in that area but militants?
This events are inevitable because the arrangement is not sustainable. The government should have been responsible to work out a framework for oil exploration activities and stand strictly by it. Instead of asking a group of terrorist what theg want, they ought to have done what is in the interest of the communities and invariablly Nigeria. The government was supposed to have cleaned up the ND areas and invested in the community and not giving militants money to buy arms.
Getting good result often takes lot of effort and resources, Nigerians and her government cannot keep making sharp sharp arrangement and think that their problems will go away..nah the problem is just postponed.

I worked briefly for a blue chip investment firm in Nigeria as an investment analyst and while I was their, I noticed that the very looking people in the marketing segment did not have to work as hard as the rest to meet their target. The not so good looking ones had to work extra hard, were better coordinated and kept more accurate record yet the attractive ones closed and retained more clients than them.
Even when this good looking sales executives made errors that cost their clients loss of money (like not sending the clients their investment Option letter in time) the clients are more lenient compared to the way they react to the rest. I am talking about high net worth persons here, the cheapest product of the firm was 1million Naira.
There was this time my bosses client sent him an email authorizing him to liquidate his investment and bring him a check, the investment plus interest was running into 50million Naira and my boss an average looking very smart man had tried his best to persuade him to leave the money, but the client stuck to his gun saying he needed to clear some consignments and would return the money at a much later time. The timing was bad as my boss wanted to make AGM in the company that year and liquidations would definitely not help his ambitions.
After all his plans to persuade this client not to liquidate failed, my boss sent this very beautiful lady (a senior sales executive) in our office with the check, he said I should accompany her but he said we must come back with the check! Omo over sweet was worrying the lady...chai..I swear if this lady markets you, you will sign any document she gives you.
We got to the clients house in my oga's official Prado looking very sharp, and then we met chief he forgot about the check for a second and was asking the lady if she just started working with the firm, omo see discussion, the lady is equally intelligent. When chief asked for the check she showed him but told him respectfully and almost at tears that she cant give him the check because it would affect her appraisal as she is the new business development manager of the branch, chief confuse, he said he really needed the money of which she told him to look for another source, she asked him to leave the money for another 90 days because her appraisal would have been done by then. Chief agreed, omo we returned back to the office with the check o! My oga was so happy, forming master strategies but sister Jo was just too gbasky... fine people move business I tell you.

Nobody wants to know if these cars where actually built or mare assembled in Nigeria, instead different ethnic groups are here dragging the glory. The story sounds too good to be true. Its probably another Maurice iwu like breakthrough claim, ''curing Ebola with kola nut''

I never disputed any economic theory to explaining this problem. However, I state confidently that the banking problems did not start as a result of the drop in oil prices. The CBN before the decline in oil prices did a review of cash reserve ratio of government funds increasing it upward (75%) and most banks couldn't cope with the increase as it affected them greatly even when the prices of oil was still high. This prompted an eventual reduction considering it affects on banks, which was a template that was presented to the previous government to jettisoned the idea as it result in mass sack that is on already. There is no fund as sweet as government fund as it is more stable than oil money ask any marketer in the bank. Now, no government money to loan to government, no government money to recycle, no government money to charge for transaction.

Most of this banks charge government agencies COT and other charges but they won't even dare it on oil company's cos what they want is the money to enjoy spread but in government money then enjoy both float and spread.

I know and understand the various economic theories and views on this issue but this is my own practical perspective from experience in working in retail focused and public sector focus era of banking.

But i tell you, they only lost access to cheap capital with the new CRR but with the crashing oil price, they will lose invested funds. Their is a difference between losses and access to cheap capital.

Easy to callout Judges, isn't it? What if the prosecutor is unable to prove beyond reasonable doubt the charges levelled against the accused? While we cast our radar on the judges, we should be fair in our assessment of cases. Everybody has a role to play at the courts. If prosecution is unable to proof a case, we shouldn't cast aspersions on any judge for delivering a judgement we would rather not have. A referee can not award a goal if the attacking team refuses, or is unable to shoot the ball across the goal line COMPLETELY as specified in the rule book governing the game.

This man asked a fat thief who abused public trust and stole peoples retirement benefit to pay a paltry fine of 750,000 after the thief admitted to been guilty and all the NJC did was to suspend him for 1year. If you like to know he has since resumed to continue to obstruct justice.

I think Nigerians need to turn their attention to the Judges too, they have set us back for too long and we must put an end to it now.
Buhari is the best thing to happen to Nigeria in this century and we need to take advantage of this precious opportunity that we have to clean up our system and get things working right by supporting the current anti-corruption crusade.
We have been over looking the Judicial arm of the government for too long, and they are the ones that let criminals walk. I think some elements among them are as dangerous as the Dasuki's GEJ, ALAMS, TINUBU, SARAKI et al and should receive equal heat.
We need to compile a dossier of Justices notorious for granting treasury looters bail and frivolous injunctions. When we have their records, we will prevent them from further perverting Justice by making sure no high profile case is assigned to them. We should henceforth pay attention to Judges that cases are assigned to, and raise alarm once its one of the crooked Judges.
The mass media and mass protest are avenues which we could use to show our disdain and put pressure on this criminals, Turn up the heat on Crooked Judges. Below are the names of two Judges who we/Nigerians are better off without.
