Goshen360: My brother. This is not about making a point. It is about "sound doctrine". Good point my sound good but doesn't necessarily mean sound teaching. teminoni is yet to ground his teachings in the NT. Like I said, the NT doesn't begin with Matthew to John, it began from Acts of Apostle to Revelation. Hebrews 9:16-17,The new testament as used in Hebrew 9 cannot be a reference to the book 'new testament' as we know it now. Paul refers to the new 'covenant' that Christians make with Jesus who has a right to mediate that new 'convenant' because of His atonement. I reiterate that Christianity cannot be reduced to John - revelation, those books are by no means an exhaustive account of the doctrine of the gospel of Christ. Yes he fullfiled the law, but not every single thing that existed prior to His coming applied to the carnal law alone. An example is in Hebrews 7 where an old testament prophet is said to have a priesthood 'Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life'. The same prophet it turns out Abraham paid tithe to, coincidence?... |
cheikh: AjanlekokoAgain another who has fallen into the trap of referring to a race as inherently corrupt and mindless. I take it then that you are just as corrupt as Ibori seeing as you both have the same skin colour and hail from Nigeria (assuming of course that you are a Nigerian) |
cheikh: esere826Your statement is incredibly prejudiced and discriminatory. I've done a lot of work with very creative and Indians and Nigerians who would take offence at your suggestion that both groups are inherently corrupt. To qualify the quality of a person based on where they come from is the least of 'virtues'. I'd much rather plagiarism! |
@Goshen360: teminoni has a point. moreover Christianity can not be reduced to only what Jesus said in the bible. At the modest of estimations the words of Jesus will fill so many volumes. We are priviledged to have some of what he said and some of what he revealed to his servants the prophet (Amos 3:7) In any case going by the words of Jesus, he required the young rich man to forsake all his riches and follow him. One could take that to mean that not just a tenth is required for tithe but rather all that we possess |
It's simple really. In Malachi chapter 3 the Lord requires that the faithful be tithed. In Num 18, it is revealed what use the tithe is to be put towards and what proportion is to be paid. Now i feel the real issue in our day is to whom should this tithe be paid. It is instructive that when Abraham needed to pay his tithe, he sought out the king of salem in Gen 14, evidenced again in Heb 7. What we all thus need to find is our 'King of salem', however i feel that if you go ahead and obey the commandment to pay tithe, The Lord will bless you regardless of whom you pay it to and what purpose it's used for. The Lord seeth the heart and rewardeth accordingly. Now having said that I strongly condemn those who use tithes for personal gain, whoever does this will surely get his just reward. You need to feel comfortable with where your money is going to, It behooves you to search for such a place. I have and I delightfully pay a tenth of my gross income and other increases. |
rather sad seeing as i took a hitch free night bus ride from Mombassa to Nairobi and back again a few weeks ago. It's entirely unacceptable that we still put up with things like this in the 21st century. Things must change! |

bukydiamon: Hi doctors in the house. I am 39 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I have been having diarhea and stomach upset since morning. I have used the toilet 4 times today. Does this have anything to do with labour? Pls this is my first baby and i don't know if i shld start going to the hospital. What should i do plssssss. It Is unlikely for labour to present with the symptoms you describe. I presume you attended an ante natal clinic which should have given u info on what to expect with labour. A more classical sign would be the breaking of the waters and increasing frequency of contractions. Your diarrhoea may be due to a range of things, largely benign generally speaking. If symptoms persists and you're still worried speak to your doc |
I see the docs have been busy. I'll be lending a hand with some of the queries as I can. My particular interest is in general internal medicine and preventive health. The caveat I have is that no advise substitutes for going to see a physician who can hear the full story, ask the right questions, examine you properly, order the right tests, diagnose and treat you appropriately. My advise should hopefully let you ask the right questions when you do go see a doctor |

When i say Nigerian i don't mean carrying a passport or having a token association with Nigeria I mean fully immersing oneself in the culture and being able to relate uniquely with other Nigerians. Part of that i would contend is being able to communicate with most Nigerians. Pidgin is by far the most widely spoken and understood language in the country and thus i suggest that the mastery of it at least at some level is relevant to one's 'Nigerianness'. Not everybody in the world is Nigerian, thus there must be indicators that show whether an individual is Nigerian or not. I contend that being able to communicate with most Nigerians via the most widely understood language (pidgin in my opinion) is one such indicator. Our official language is english but the reality is many - dare i say the majority of- Nigerians are more comfortable in pidgin. I don't know that pidgin english and gutter english are synonymous. Pidgin is used to communicate effectively via the written and spoken word Books have been written in pidgin and many a jokes have been 'cracked' in pidgin. All nigerian comedians use pidgin, ever wonder why? All Nigerians are Nigerians but some are more Nigerian than others |

what's the criteria for all these rankings? University rankings are always subjective even with the most objective of aims so tell us the basis for your rankings. |

it's sad but he'll probably win because as someone said before: he's a simple guy from a simple background and is seen as lucky. Perfect combination for our superstitious society. If it were left to the 'nairaland generation' he'd be lucky to leave with one vote, sadly though it isn't. Instead it is up to millions who are barely educated, poor and don't have the stomach for philosophising. I just pray that one day people from the 'nairaland generation' will be the majority and hopefully make informed, reasoned judgements on the people who seek our votes |
1 nil to naija at halftime. So far joel is best player, some good runs good passes and a good shot on target. Peter utaka scored first goal but missed a sitter. Defence still looks shaky as always. Ethiopia look like they can steal one on the counter. We still lack creativity in the middle, nobody really taking the initiative to break down ethiopia and lastly the crosses are awful! We need a much better 2nd half, ethiopia are there for the taking! |
thanks for the link. Camera angles, mixing and audio are poor. When will we ever improve! I get to watch the match sha |

central abdominal obesity has reliably been linked with an increase in incidence of heart disease. It is associated with hypertension, diabetes and bad lipids in the metabolic syndrome. The short answer to the topic is as follows: While potbelly in itself is not a 'sickness', it predisposes one to other diseases and is associated with more morbidity and eventual mortality. It is a sickness in the same way that hypertension is a sickness i.e a risk factor |

Fibroids are a benign smooth muscle tumour, they are easily treatable. So the question of whether to marry or not doesn't arise. |
Hey did you manage to get any information on the topic? |
one small thought entered my head as i read this: Compare the reaction to the Swedish/Danish cartoons vs reaction to Jerry Springer: The Opera. If one is being objective about it there is a fundamental difference in Ideology. I'm not ascribing any superiority just saying that it seems that one can more readily hide under the auspices of a certain Ideology to commit attrocities compared to the other. *said in the most respectful way possible* Regarding the Calabar terrorist, my first impression is that he is psychotic. I'll however have to interview him and carry out a mental state exam to be exactly sure. Any ideas how i can reach him ![]() |
