Correct. And also, responsibilities should also be considered.

My income is not fixed. Last month, I earned around 275k and spent only 75k. I'm single, with no responsibilities.

So, I saved up to 70% of my income.
Good.

Since you don't have a fixed income, you may not be able to have a fixed investment or savings plan. However, there's a method to it.

You know your typical /basic income. Also your typical monthly expenses.

Once you balance the two, go aggressive on the left over. Alternating between savings and investment. Once you meet an emergency fund of upto 6months salary as savings, put the rest into investment.

Consider some fixed income investments, no matter how little.

That is what I did as a bachelor and I'm still doing.

PS. Plan for your rent. You can use target savings aside your regular savings.

People who worked hard for their money, who are not greedy, who ask relevant questions hardly fall for scams.

Got a call on Friday night, that they are calling from my bank. They said they observed something is not right with my POS. I asked them to tell me which of the accounts and account number

They caller said Zenith bank. I just cut her off because I don't have a Zenith bank account
Next time, just sound alarmed. Tell them to hold on that you want to get your ATM card. Put the mumu on hold or and once in a while, tell them you're still looking for the card.

Na so I dey do them. Na so we go burn their small credit.

Buyers don't want to buy high, sellers don't want to sell low. That's the summary of the market so far.

Volume has been low compared to other days.
Broke men don't trade.

People (who are still likely to earn salary) are waiting for cash to settle into their accounts. After which they can decide what inject into the market appropriately.

The next couple of days should see some improved trade volume.

Morning people, Thanks for the job you are doing here, i am silent reader of this group. I have N5.7 million left in my stock account Please i have the following questions,

My friend bought Zenithbank at N11 two weeks ago, he advised me to buy some unit but it hasnt gone to that price since that time , please when will it to go down or i should buy it at this N14 price? Can you also be kind enough to suggest some stocks that are cheap this week, PLease my goal is capital appreciation and dividend payment.
First and foremost, no one needs to know your trading balance or how deep your pocket is. If everyone here does that, you may not be proud of what you did.

To your question, when will Zenith drop to 11 again? I dey here, kindly cc me when you get the answer.

My regards to your friend who bought Zenith at ₦11.

Spotting a good stock is not that difficult(just some fundamentals needed),but making money from a good stock is the ultimate(thats where some technicals/gut analysis is needed)
Even the average trader/investor can make a list 15 good stocks on NSE, but that does not mean he/she would eventually make money from these stocks.ENTRY POINT AND EXIT POINT determines this and thats where technicals come in.

The guy is a joker. He 'invests' people's money for a share of the profit (not loss) so he's always out pushing stocks that he's taken position in.

Whoever has money does not have time typing an epistle, it is those that are seeking pecuniary gains from unsuspecting followers that does that.

Good TA input from RabidDoracle and Meshpips. Looking at TA, 2 people can be using same chart and seeing 2 or more different things.

Overall, I think market will decide it's direction.
From my end, I see prices have reached a new support level and would range or break out a bit. With the earning season here, I think we should expect some uptrend and consolidation.

Opening up the economy and oil price recovering will help in the short term. If Covid-19 plateaus and decline in most countries, that should bring a new wave of optimism into the market.

Overall, market may not reach new lows going forward.
You've just translated the charts to English. Thanks.

You are using Ichimoku with default setting (52 periods and its mid-point 26) on daily tf?

That setting is to be correctly used on the weekly time frame.

It is no co-incidence that we have 52 weeks in a year. Abi wetin you think?

As noted yes. If you enter the fund at a down market period you will get the price of the fund low so you can buy more units and when stock market is up you can sell. However, the risk about the VBF and in general any balance fund is that both your capital and returns are not guaranteed you can lose your capital because one may not be able to predict correctly how long a down market will last. Most times experts advice to have a long term in mind if going into balance fund in case the market lull takes long time. On the positive side, returns on balance fund can be great in a very short while if there is a bullish run in the market.
Thanks for this.

Morning everyone,

Except for the Day traders on this board i want to advice value investors to avoid checking the markets every minute and seconds to avoid High blood pressure. Things are irrational these days and constant shocks to the financial markets will continue for a while.

Checking once a day to confirm your trade is probably fine but these per seconds Heeeee and Haaaaa as the market swing daily is unhealthy in my opinion. grin

Like Emmanuelewumi would advise if you know what you bought and why you bought it,You can sleep easy.
Just curious, do we have any full time /day trader here? No 9-5 job, just stocks and other investments?
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by 1kinggy(m): 11:09am On Apr 23, 2020
[quote author=emmasoft post=88756220]One can not really do the comparison in terms of rate because they belong to different type of mutual funds. VBF returns are not fixed. it depends largely on the performance of the stock market because major part of the fund is invested in the stock market. The returns could be very good if market is bullish but there could also be loss if the market is down. VGIF is another form of mutual fund. the rate is fixed at 8.5% bench marked with sdf. If I am to recommend right now with the economic reality I will opt for VGIF.[/qoute]

Thanks for the clarification.

For VBF, if one enters in a bear market, does it put one on a good position to earn more when the market picks up? Just like one "entering low and sell high"?

Similarly, is there any major impact on the capital invested during subscription?

Though rates are low for MMFs at this time, it's still better than just leaving your money to stay idle. You can also do other forms of mutual funds like VGIF, rate is a bit higher and it's guaranteed with the principal. Check my signature for my contact and link to open account.
VBF and VGIF, which one gives a higher return?

If your stop loss is @ 13.48, trading fund don burn finish already na. My opinion is that, guys who have sold their Zenith at around 15 are predicting a fall so they can buy again. We saw someone still said we will buy Zenith later in the year at 9. Obviously, he has sold all his Zenith and wants us to panic sell too, bro u lie. We are not selling nothing. Even Covid 19 could not drag it to stay @9. We are waiting anyways.
That's the thought driving the bank bears. Once they find out they came down at the wrong bus stop, they want you lure you out through the window of a moving train.

And some of them do it to other sectors.

You don't need to submit another mandate if it's the same CHN. Actually registrars identify shareholders by CHN, by investors account number of a particular company and they will just cross check with the bank mandate to confirm name of account and BVN
