ImperialYoruba: Go in the Quran for source about the tribes of Mecca before Islam.
Go to IMDB and retrieve film records including documentaries on the culture and dress habits of Arabia. Sources for yorubas wearing agbada prior to Islam, not Arabs. |
Politics › Re: Between These Two Igbo Attires Which Looks More Official [Photos] by 1Sharon(f): 10:08pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
ImperialYoruba: There is nothing muslim with Agbada or Abaya. This is your own false understanding.
Before Islam, the ancient dwellers of Yoruba Ife wore Agbada. Islam originated in Mecca, before Islam Mecca was occupied by orisha worshippers, they wore Agbada.
Christians in Mali, Mauritania, Egypt, Morocco, all wear Agbada or BouBou that they call it, and likewise Christians of Sahel wear Babanriga or whatever name that they call it.
In a nutshell, you are attributing Agbada to Islam. This is wrong. I am telling you Agbada existed before Islam, and its origin is Yoruba. Source please? Because most sources prove the opposite Pre-islam Arabs wore Agbada or what they call Kaftan, because MENA is a deserted and arid climate. They needed to dress that way to protect themselves from the harsh sun and sand. Climate created your culture and influences religion. |

ImperialYoruba: You need to give the specific originator if you are disputing its origin with Yoruba.
Who specifically originated Agbada? It is not enough to just say sahel region. You need to find its originator.
Let me coach you on a few things here to begin with.
Sahel is related from Sahil, Arabic word for regions below Maghreb (Morrocco) and Masra (Egypt). This will indicate from around Mauritania stretching across to Sudan. So sahel is not some strange word that can be used to razzmatazz knowledgeable folks like myself.
What is interesting to know is that the two key words contained in your post - sahel/sahil (coast) and agbada both have cognates in Yoruba language.
Isale in Yoruba can denote valley a location below
Agbada in Yoruba is cognate of Abaya in Arabic. Infact, you can see the connection if you retrieve picture of Abaya on internet.
So untill you can find the specific ethnic that originated Agbada, I maintain Yoruba is its originator.
The Yoruba terms Isale (as in Sahel) and Agbada (as in Abaya) creeped into other languages of Arabian desert and their own styling copied the Yoruba. You just came here and attempted to do your own razzmatazz. Why is the cognate of agbada, abaya? Are yorubas desert dwellers? Have they been Muslims since the beginning of time? You're just proving the point I made. It came from foreign Muslims. The same people that brought the religion to yorubas, brought the attire with them. The same thing with the boubou dress. |

To be honest with you when i met her She was the industrious and independent type of a woman which attracted me to her. I still can't explain where the sudden change came from. For the abortion I she didn't tell me when she did it, i only knew about it when she started developing complications. You should have told her that if she got an abortion, you're calling off the wedding. |

When it comes to 50/50, the woman ends up doing more.
A man can come back from work and relax but a working woman can't. She has to cook his meals, clean. She has to do those extras sometimes while being pregnant.
If a woman stresses and works too hard, it shows on her |

GODPUNISHALABI: agbada did not originate from the yorubas You're right. But I think your priorities should instead be to wonder why Igbo men are wearing winter hats as their traditional attire in a hot climate like Nigeria. Where do you think that came from? It is mismatched and odd. |
Politics › Re: Between These Two Igbo Attires Which Looks More Official [Photos] by 1Sharon(f): 10:02am On Jun 12, 2023 |
Razgas: agbada did not originate from igbos either. A version of it first appeared in Sudan and has gradually been adapted and adopted around west Africa. Remember that during Uthman Dan Fodio, west and central Africa were all called Sudan. The photo here is a Sudanese wearing the boubou It's a sahelian attire. |
Politics › Re: Between These Two Igbo Attires Which Looks More Official [Photos] by 1Sharon(f): 9:50am On Jun 12, 2023 |
kokoA: Who really owns agbada sef? Seems every tribe within the entire West Africa sees agbada as traditional attire. It's an outsider Islamic influence. The yorubas got it from hausas and hausas got it from their fellow sahelians. Same thing that happened with the boubou. Long flowy attires are a sahelian style, since they're desert dwellers. Yorubas should stop getting defensive when people say agbada isn't a yoruba innovation, because it really isn't. When yorubas accepted Islam, they started dressing like the people that introduced them to the faith- sahelians/people from Mali. |

Oluromantic: Your argument is not enlightened pls.
Everyone has different strength but high sex drive in men and low sex drive in women is simply nature. That's the underlying reason behind those chats. That's my point It's not about any low sex drive, women have urges too. You men are just easier to waylay with sex and women. A random woman can throw herself at a man, and he jumps at the opportunity. Random women hardly walk up to a man and try to seduce him, it's always a trap but you men refuse to learn. There have been many crime documentaries on this. |
Romance › Re: Women When A Strange Man Texts Them For The First Time: by 1Sharon(f): 7:12am On Jun 12, 2023 |
Oluromantic: That's not weakness, that's nature.
Most women will collect money from strange men too. A girl ate 12k food on a first date. That's women's nature. One could say women are weak too when it comes to money Most dates happen in public places, a woman doesn't need to have her guard up as much. This is different to a random woman offering a man sex. Sex is hidden and intimate. Like i said before, honey trapping is targeted to men, not women. |
