Wike Blasts Amaechi For Trying To Derail Osinbajo's Visit - "Satan Will Never Sleep''

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has lashed out at former Governor of the State Rotimi Amaechi for organising another stakeholders meeting with acting president, Yemi Osinbajo, a day after the town hall meeting held in government house.

Wike lashed out at Amaechi who is currently transport Transport minister via a statement by his special assistant on electronic media, Simeon Nwakaudu. Wike said, "Satan will never sleep. Satan will always be at work. Satan always wants to turn light into darkness.

“When we held the stakeholders meeting, even the Minister of Transportation was there. But as a you know, a chameleon will always be a chameleon. When you see agents of Lucifer you will know.

“Just because the Acting President slept in Rivers State and went round our projects, then confirmed that this man is Mr Projects, they suddenly became troubled."

"Agents of Lucifer in trying to cause confusion, persuaded the Acting President that there will be need for him to talk to APC Members. I have no problems with that. Mr Acting President is a member of the APC. But governance is governance. When they got there, they renamed the APC meeting as stakeholders meeting. Shame , shame."

PoliticsBuhari May Speak To Nigerians By Phone Soon - Presidency by 247frolicboss(op): 9:23am On Feb 14, 2017
President Muhammadu Buhari may soon speak by telephone to Nigerians.

Buhari’s media adviser, Femi Adesina made the disclosure on Monday night during a live political programme on Channels TV.

Adesina said: “Yes, he (Buhari) said maybe, he will speak to Nigerians by phone, and I also say maybe.

“That issue of his coming back is already in the public domain in the letter that was transmitted to the National Assembly. He said as soon as he has an ‘all-clear’ on his health, he’ll be back. I think that issue has been settled

“I communicate what has been told to me. Unless I receive a definite communication that says the president will be back on this date. Then, I can say. Otherwise, I’ll just be making a guess, if I say anything that has not been said to me. Don’t forget that I’m a spokesman. I speak for somebody. I communicate what has been transmitted to me.

“Remember Trump said America will be number one, America will be number two, and America will be number three. So anything that is in the interest of American that the previous government did. I’m sure this Trump administration will continue. We know that governance is a continuum. I don’t think one government will come in and obliterate all the positive things that have been done by the previous administration as long as it is positive; and, in the interest of the country.”

PoliticsNigerian Firms Lack Capacity To Print Ballot Papers – INEC Chair, Yakubu by 247frolicboss(op): 9:12am On Feb 14, 2017
The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has said Nigerian companies lack the capacities in printing ballot papers and other electoral materials.

Prof. Yakubu stated this while responding to questions from members of the House of Representatives Committee on Electoral Matters during the 2017 budget defence yesterday in Abuja.

The Electoral umpire Boss said much as the commission would wish to engage Nigerian companies, it was practically impossible to do so for fear of disappointment, considering the time frame and the volume of work involved.

“Yes we should look inward, but there are issues such as the volume you have to produce within a short time. If you engage local companies, you may realise that they don’t have the capacity to produce large number within a short period.

“There’s also the Nigerian problem. People will quickly go and register a patent and make claims. Some of the procurement are time bound. We can’t allow somebody to hold us to ransom. In fact, even on the card reader, some people were making claims.

“But this is without prejudice to the suggestion. We’ll find a way of encouraging local companies. The problem is the volume and time frame; there are places that are not motorable.

“The constitution says we have one week to do a rerun. If we have a constitutional crisis on one week to conclude an inconclusive presidential election, I’m afraid we may not meet up. Some places are not motorable at all. I didn’t know this until we conducted the last election in Abuja,” he said.

Christianity Etc"Women Who Wear Trousers, Eyelashes Are Sinners" - Pastor Lazarus Muoka by 247frolicboss(op): 6:12pm On Feb 12, 2017
General Overseer of Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Pastor Lazarus Muoka on Sunday reiterated his warning to women who are fund of adorning male wears such as trousers.

He maintained that such people would go to hell.

He also warned women to desist from adorning their bodies with artificial make-ups, as such unholy practices were sins against God.

He gave the warning while addressing a large crowd of worshipers at the just concluded international crusade titled; ‘From Sorrow to Joy” at the Chosen Revival Ground, ljesha, Lagos.

Muoka charged the worshippers to repent before giving their offerings to God.

“I want to tell you, you don’t need extra eye, make up or bangle or attachment at all. You don’t need to dress and show your unclothedness, your ass, your chest, your armpit, your tummy, your waist, your lap….that is sin. Cover your body properly.

“And if you are a young man and you are doing jerry coil and you make your hair like a woman, use some funny language…and when they ask you where are you from and you say Naija instead of Nigeria, something is wrong with you.

“The Bible tells us that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. If you are a woman wearing trousers that’s a sin. If you are a man wearing skirt and blouse, that’s an abomination.

“Search your life, repent of your sin and God will show you mercy. God loves you. It is not the will of God that any soul should perish.”

He pointed out that a sinner is not a Christian and a Christian is not a sinner, stressing that all unrighteousness is a sin.

CrimePHOTOS: 12-year-old Girl & Her Aunt Tortured By Elders In Akwa Ibom by 247frolicboss(op): 12:47pm On Feb 12, 2017
12-year-old girl & her aunt tortured by elders in Akwa Ibom over allegations of witchcraft

A 44-year-old woman, Ms. Mercy Ekwere from Edo Esit Eket escaped death on Monday, February 6th, after police dispersed witch-hunters who cordoned her, tied her hands and legs, then tortured her with sticks and machetes to a state of coma.

Her ordeal began after her 12-year-old niece was dragged to the town hall and underwent questioning and torture over allegations of witchcraft as a result of the death of a 5-year old child.

After a lengthy torture, the twelve years old girl was forced to tell the witch-hunters that her aunt, Ms. Ekwere, took the deceased child to the coven and strangled her to death.

Ms. Ekwere who is married to a man in a small community in the main Eket town, Akwa Ibom was lured by two emissaries who visited her in the early morning of Monday to inform her that the village head was looking for her with matters related to family disputes.

Ms. Ekwere said that as she arrived the scene, she was hurled with insults and abuses by a mammoth crowd and was not given a chance to say anything, only for a mob to descend on her mercilessly with any available weapon in their hands.

"I was shocked to see a big crowd who started calling me uncanny names, spat and threw stones at me. They did not allow me to say anything. A group of young men with sticks and rod gathered around me and began to hit me… I begged them to stop but my plea fell on deaf ears," Ms Ekere narrated.

"They're asking me different questions. ‘Why did you kill that small child?' ‘Who're your colleagues in the coven?' How many people have you tied in the witch coven?' They brought the corpse of a little child and place on my body and asked me to resurrect her. They put the dead child in a small open container, bathed and gave me the water to drink. Meaning that, if I was responsible for the child's death, I would also die soon.

"In spite of that, they continued to beat me. A man came with a big stick and hit my head, the whole place became dark and I fainted. Policemen, invited by my brother Emmanuel Ekwere, to rescue his child who was making the false confession came and woke me up. I did not see those who were beating me again. I got a bike and returned to my husband, but he told me to leave his house as he has no room for witches..." she added.

When she returned to her husband, she was not allowed entrance to the house. Her five years old son from her late ex-husband was also asked to join her. But the man kept the eleven-month-old child which is the only child that they both have together.

Ms. Ekwere said since she did not have a place to sleep, she went and slept in a small local market with open shades. To her chagrin, three men who were among those who wanted to kill her came there on a motorbike with matches and sticks.

On spotting them, she ran into a bush with her son and made her way to the CRARN Children Centre in Ikot Afaha, Eket, where she has been given a temporary refuge as there's no sanctuary in Nigeria for such older people stigmatized as witches or brutalized and rendered homeless in the name of witchcraft.

Politics"I Am Not Aware Of President Buhari's Health Status" - Femi Adesina by 247frolicboss(op): 6:14am On Feb 06, 2017
Anxiety as Buhari extends medical vacation

..Again writes NASS, IBB returns from medical trip in Switzerland

The growing anxiety over President Muhammadu Buhari’s health in the United Kingdom (UK) heightened on Sunday when he wrote to the National Assembly requesting for an extension of his stay.

Buhari was scheduled to return to Abuja yesterday after about two weeks in London for vacation and medical checkup. He was scheduled to resume work today.
But in a press statement yesterday evening, the President’s Media Adviser, Mr. Femi Adesina, said that Buhari had informed the National Assembly that he would stay back for some test results recommended by his doctors.

He was however silent on when actually the President would be returning to the country.

In the statement, Adesina stated: “President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly today, February 5, 2017, informing of his desire to extend his leave in order to complete and receive the results of a series of tests recommended by his doctors.

“The President had planned to return to Abuja this evening, but was advised to complete the test cycle before returning. The notice has since been dispatched to the Senate President and the Speaker, House of Representatives.

“Mr. President expresses his sincere gratitude to Nigerians for their concern, prayers and kind wishes,” he said.

Signs that President Buhari would not return today as scheduled began to show earlier in the day when the relevant Presidency officials were not specific to journalists regarding the time of the arrival of the president.
It was also observed that the protocol and security units of the Presidency which usually did not take such matters lightly, had not made any visible arrangement to receive the President at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Buhari departed Abuja for London on January 19, 2017 after informing the National Assembly that he intended going on a short vacation during which he would also undergo a medical checkup and return on February 6, 2017.

Adesina had then issued a statement saying that “President Muhammadu Buhari leaves for the United Kingdom today on a short leave, which is part of his annual vacation. He is expected to resume work on February 6, 2017.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has held sway since then, despite equally wild rumours that he was under pressure to step down in order not to succeed Buhari, should he become incapable of returning safe and sound from London.

Amidst the apprehension and rumours, some Nigerians have demanded for Buhari’s public appearance in London or at least, an address to assure them of his health status.

However, no such thing has happened except some of his pictures with visitors, including his wife, put out on the social media by unofficial sources.

While these pictures have become disputed by some Nigerians and now issues of controversy, the Presidency or the Federal Government has not reacted to them.

Since Thursday the indications were there that President Buhari would not return as stated in his earlier letter to the National Assembly.

It was learnt that the development informed the visit of the Senate President Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara meeting with Osinbajo.

The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Malam Abubakar Malami, was also with Osinbajo on Thursday night where they were looking at how to go around the problem of Buhari not returning as scheduled, considering that he wrote saying he would be out of the country for specific days.

As the social media tumbled over, churning out speculations on the President’s actual health status, Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to President Buhari came out later in the day to clarify the President’s health status.

Speaking to Seun Okinbaloye on Channels TV (Sunday Politics), Femi Adesina made the following clarifications:

‘’When the President was leaving on January 19, we said he was going to take a vacation and also do some medical check-ups. The essence of medical check-up is to find out the state of your being, and that test can mean a lot of things.

The situation now is that series of tests have been conducted and his doctors have advised that he stays back so that the cycle can be completed.

Adesina explained futher that: “there’s medical-doctor-patient-confidentiality. No doctor will reveal his patient’s state of health to you as an individual”.

Asked if he is aware of the President’s health status, Adesina said: “I am not aware of the President’s health status, but if there is anything serious, the onus lies on the President to disclose or not to disclose. But, when his doctor gives him a clean bill of health, he will return.
“I am sure it will get to a point when the President has to disclose the status of his health if it needs to be disclosed; if it is something serious to be disclosed”.

Agency reports at the weekend claimed that the President is suffering from a severe condition called Meniere’s Disease.

Meniere’s disease is caused by improper fluid drainage, immune disease, allergies, viral infection, genetic predisposition, or head trauma.

Experts said people suffering from the disease condition experience the following symptoms: regular episodes of vertigo, which is when a person feels as if he/she or the objects around them are moving when they are not.
“Often, it feels like a spinning or swaying movement. This may be associated with nausea, vomiting, sweating, or difficulties in walking,” the experts said.

Other symptoms would show incidences of falling down, as the individual might lose balance and fall as though he/she has epilepsy; hearing loss, which in Meniere’s disease, may come and go, particularly early on. Eventually, most people have some permanent hearing loss.

There is also ringing in the ear (Tinnitus): Tinnitus is the perception of a ringing, buzzing, roaring, whistling or hissing sound in your ear; feeling of fullness in the ear.
According to the experts, Meniere’s disease has no cure. The worse of this is the epileptic-like seizures that accompany the disease.

“During an acute attack like this, patients are advised to lie down on a firm surface, stay as motionless as possible, with eyes open and fixed on a stationary object.

“Patients are also advised not try to drink or sip water immediately, as this might lead to vomiting,” they said.
Babangida returns from medical trip to Switzerland
Meanwhile, former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), has returned to Nigeria after a seven-week medical vacation in Switzerland.
He arrived at the Minna International Airport on Saturday at 6.45pm.

Alighting from the aircraft, Babangida expressed gratitude for prayers and goodwill messages from different quarters during his vacation.

He said: “I am feeling stronger and better now. I must thank Nigerians immensely for the prayers and concerns over my health. I must use this opportunity to also call on Nigerians to continue to pray for the leaders and the country to move forward in positive direction”.
“We should remain united and work collectively towards the progress of our nation by thinking positively about the leaders and providing constructive criticisms and solutions to any challenge we may face.”

On the situation in the country, Babangida said that the current economic recession is not peculiar to Nigeria. He said: “I am aware that other countries face different political, social and economic challenges. I believe the current government is working assiduously towards addressing some of the issues.”

Babangida left Nigeria for medical vacation in Europe on December 18, 2016.

“Let us all pray for Nigeria just as the Bible admonishes us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

“Nigeria is lucky to have President Buhari in the saddle; if not, he current challenges would have worsened because of the deep-seated corruption of the past administration. Corruption has eaten deep into all facets of life in the country.”

He spoke at the 2017 annual general conference of Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Nigeria held in Ilorin.

CelebritiesList Of Celebs To Boycott Tuface Idibia's Protest by 247frolicboss(op): 12:34pm On Feb 04, 2017
Tuface Idibia may have the support of Nigerians for the planned anti-government protest but some of his colleagues in the entertainment industry will be boycotting the protest.

Some of the celebrities that will be boycotting the protest include:

1. Bovi - The Comedian wrote on Social network, “Boycott is too strong a word to describe my not attending. I won’t be there. Simple. It doesn’t define whether I support it or not. I am not joining the protest, and stop saying ‘we’ and ‘us.’ You don’t belong…..my life is not governed by your opinions of me."

2. Stella Damasus - The Nollywood actress believes that the protest is pointless. "That time I will use to protest and talk, I will use it to do something good for the people I can help. Before protesting anything, you have to have a clear focus,” she said.

3. Funke Adesiyan - For this beautiful actress turned politician, protesting solves nothing. She said "When people ask me why I joined politics, I tell them from the truest of my heart that it is because I got tired of how things were being done in my country. It’s not enough for us to protest, it’s more important for us, youths of this beloved nation, to get involved in governance. You could try many times before you achieve it.”

4. Blackface - Why didn't you lead a protest against these governors who mismanaged the Buhari bailout funds and the Paris Club refund money? Why did you not protest against GEJ's looting of N51 trillion naira and the Godswill Akpabio alleged looting of over N1 trillion naira from the Akwa Ibom state treasury for which he is being prosecuted by the EFCC? Why didn't you protest Akpabio's alleged corrupting of a Supreme Court justice who is currently being tried for corrupt practices on the bench? Is it because you are a corruption apologist?" he asked.

5. Femi Kuti - Though he has not clearly stated that he won't be marching, his words suggest that he's against the protest. "I hear say they want to do protest here, they even choose the day Sunday, Sunday is my day. So I was thinking, 2face say some people come meet am say make he broadcast am, so no be him sit down for him house com plan am, I for no vex. Who be the people wey come meet you?" he asked.

CelebritiesI Made Kcee What He Is Today – Harrysong by 247frolicboss(op): 4:08pm On Jan 29, 2017
Former member, Five Star music, Harrysong, has claimed that it was actually Kcee who begged him on ‘bended knees’ to help salvage his dying career.

Last Friday, Harrysong was arrested by Five Star music and shortly after his release, the record label claimed that the Reggae Blues crooner had profusely begged Kcee to sign him into the label some years ago.

According to Five Star Music, Harrysong was fond of abandoning contracts halfway which was one of the reasons he left his first record label, QuestionMark Entertainment.

In a swift reaction, Harrysong’s new record label, Altar Plate released a statement signed by the company’s media manager, Desmond Ike -Chima, on Sunday, where Harrysong also claimed that he was not arrested by the police, rather he was invited by officers from the Onikan Police Station in Lagos.

The statement reads, “It was 8 am and policemen acting on the instruction of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in Onikan, stormed our hotel room to invite Harrysong over for questioning.

“As a law abiding citizen with nothing to fear, we got dressed up and went to the AIG’ s office. On getting there, we were greeted by the presence of a haggard looking young man in cheap suit, identified as Five Star Music’s lawyer.

“As against the kangaroo statement released by Five Star Music, Harrysong did not at any time approach anyone or company to sign him; it was Kcee [who] approached Harrysong on bended knees to help salvage his dying career after he fell out with his then partner [Presh].

“As much as Harrysong loved to help him out in that time of need, it is worthy of note that Kcee is talentless and knows next to nothing about music.

“Harrysong had a running contract with Questionmark Records, but out of desperation, Kcee and Five Star Music were prepared to pay off Kelvin Luciano in their quest to have Harrysong at all cost.

“It should be recalled that Harrysong succeeded in recreating Kcee’s sound, as he wrote and co – produced hits including Had it been I know, Okpekete.

“Limpopo, Pull Over and other songs that defined the Kcee that everyone now knows and celebrates today.

“For what it’ s worth, Harrysong’s dealing with Five Star Music was with the clause that he would be left to pursue his career whenever he deemed it fit. For the records, Altarplate has come to stay and the general public can do business with Harrysong and Alterplate management.”
