The Academic Board of Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos, has expelled 73 students for presenting suspected forged results.
A statement by the college made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday said the affected students were part-time pursuing National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes.

Signed by the Deputy Registrar, Mrs Titilayo Obadimu, the statement said the affected students registered for the 2013/2014 academic session.

According to the statement, the results were discovered during the verification of Senior Secondary School certificates and National Diploma results.

It said 46 students for National Diploma and 27 for Higher National Diploma were affected.
“All affected students are advised to hand over the property of the college in their possession, including Identity Cards, to their heads of department, the librarian and Dean of Students’ Affairs,’’ it said.
Mr Charles Oni, who heads the Public Relations Unit told NAN the college had zero tolerance for malpractices and social vices.
He said all documents presented for admission were subjected to rigorous screening.
Oni urged prospective students to avoid forgery of results and other malpractices.

He is only 13, but he has accomplished more in his short years than most have by 30. His bow ties have produced $200,000 in sales, and he has five employees on payroll which include his mother and grandmother. Not to mention, he has been celebrated by Oprah’s O Magazine, Steve Harvey and mentor/FUBU founder Daymond John.

His name is Moziah Bridges and he is the CEO of Mo’s Bows. The teenage fashion designer started his company in 2011 at the tender age of nine when he asked his grandmother to teach him how to sew. He took her scraps of fabric and began making unique bow ties. Not long after, Mo’s Bows began selling to local stores and online.

On his website Bridges explains his passion for making bow ties saying, “I like to wear bow ties because they make me look good and feel good. Designing a colorful bow tie is just part of my vision to make the world a fun and happier place.”
And as his vision is becoming actualized, the Memphis native went a step further into philanthropy.
“I made this bow tie called the Go Mo! Scholarship Bow Tie and 100 percent of the proceeds go to help kids go to summer camp because I feel like it’s good to help the community and that’s what I’m doing,” Bridges said.

Bridges appeared on Shark Tank in 2014 to pitch Mo’s Bows to potential investors. He had to choose between accepting $50,000 for his innovative idea while sharing royalties with Kevin O’Leary, or have John as a mentor. The young businessman chose John’s influence over money, and so far the decision has proven to be a wise one.
With John, he attended Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York and impressed big names in fashion with his sophisticated demeanor and dapper style. What more could they expect from a kid carrying a briefcase? Bridges’s experience at Fashion Week garnered a phone call from Karen Katz CEO of Neiman Marcus. Mo’s Bows are now sold online at Neiman Marcus and Cole Hahn. His neckwear retails at around $50 and are available in 15 states, Toronto and the Bahamas.

He is very hands-on with the creation of Mo’s Bows. He chooses the design of each tie and his style is a myriad of polka-dots, bold stripes, funky paisleys, and sports themed ties. His sports ties opened a seat for Bridges at 2015 NBA Draft where he served as a fashion analyst for the draftees.
Moziah Bridges’ success is certainly engineered by his mother’s support. “You don’t have to wait until you’re older,” his mother Tramica Morris said. “If you have a dream and you have a passion, we say go for it.”

When is he older, his future with Mo’s Bows will be expansive. “I see Mo’s Bows adding neck ties, pocket squares and other accessories for men,” he wrote to FORBES. “I also want to get enough money to start a cool kids clothing company that has nice blazers and pants for kids who like to look good like me.”

On the website, Mo’s Bows now sells squares and t-shirts.

Today he is still managing school and making bow ties, but Bridges has plans to attend college and launch a full fashion line by age 20.

Journalist, Ahmed Salkida, who has reported extensively about Boko Haram, says that Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram is still alive. Shekau was last heard from in March, when he released an audio message pledging allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) group. He has not been seen in any of the sect recently released videos, fueling speculations that he might have been killed. Also the Chadian president, Idriss Deby fueled this speculation on Tuesday August 11th when he said a new leader of Boko Haram, Mahamat Daoud, has taken over from Shekau.

Below are a few reasons why women put on weight after marriage-

* Pregnancy

One of the main reasons for weight gain post marriage and the most important phase in every woman’s life – Pregnancy, It’s when a woman takes extra care of herself.

Women are more focused on staying healthy and hence become less active, and also tend to overeat during this period. Since they are restricted to certain food items, they happen to eat less healthy foods and this worsens the problem. * Cooking

Most women after marriage fall in love with the kitchen and spend a lot of time cooking and feeding the family. The more they are appreciated; the motivated they get to cook more. All the cheese, cakes and pizzas become a part of the meal to impress the family with their culinary skills.

* Eat more

Marriage involves celebration; and this means more of eating. The list of dinners and lunches never ends and women don’t realize how many pounds they would have gained in that process.
If the partner has a heavier appetite, women too end up increasing theirs. And sometimes they are forced to eat more in order to look good.

Also, when there is a child in the house, mothers end up finishing the left-over food, leaving aside their taste, such that the food doesn’t go waste.

Late Ooni of Ife first wife,The Ooni's most senior wife The Yeyeluwa OLORI MORISOLA SIJUWADE and three other legal wives attended the burial ceremony today.

The Ooni of Ife, has been buried after thousands attended his funeral, a mourner has told www.metronaija.com.

Dignitaries, including Nigeria's Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

Others are Gen Yinka Adebayo, Gen Akindinade, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti SSG and Gen Akinrinade among others paid their respects before the private burial.

The 85-year-old sovereign was crowned in 1980 and was widely respected.

The on-going inter-religious service being presided over by both Christian and Muslim clerics is taking place at Afewonro Parks, Enuwa, Ile Ife, Osun state.


The service kicked off with Christian burial rites and subsequently followed by the Muslims rites. While the service will be rounded off with Iwure- a form of traditional prayers.


The ecstatic service is being graced by important dignitaries from all walks of life in the society. These include various religious leaders, traditional rulers, prominent politicians and business tycoons, indegenes of the town who trooped up to witness the memorable occasion.

The Anambra state chapter of PDP has suspended the national Publicity secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh over allegations of party funds. In a statement released and signed by the state party Publicity Secretary Kenneth Arinze today August 14th, Mr Metuh's suspension followed a previous suspension from Otolo Nnewi Ward I, which is his party ward.


"Following the suspension of Chief Olisa Metuh by the Otolo Ward 1 Nnewi of the PDP (where Olisa hails from) and the ratification of same by the Nnewi North Local Government chapter, the State executive committee, after assessing the weighty allegations against Olisa Metuh and finding them heinous, in compliance with the PDP Constitution, hereby, ratifies the suspension and forward same to the National Working Committee (NWC)” the statement read

Revered Elizabeth Adekunle who trained for priesthood at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, during which she completed a second Masters in Pastoral Care and Counseling will take on the senior clerical position within the Diocese of London, overseeing parishes in Hackney, Islington and Tower Hamlets.

Adekunle also read Theology at Birmingham University and did a Masters degree at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in African Christianity and Development.

We all desire wealth and riches, however, being able to achieve this desire will greatly depend on what you do or fail to do. The Irony is that perpetual poverty is equally an accumulation of certain habits practiced over time. If you desire to be rich then you have to let go certain habits and orientations.

Here are 8 things you are doing that will likely stop you from becoming rich;
Wrong Attitude Towards Money: One of the things that can greatly hinder one’s success in anything is the wrong attitude. Today there are many ideas, beliefs and opinions that people have about money that are totally wrong. The fact is that your beliefs are your greatest limitations.
What many believe about money is one thing that has kept them away from it. Some of these wrong ideas about money are;
• Money is the root of all evil.
• I’m not good with money, I just can’t keep it.
• Money is meant to be spent.
• More money creates more problems.
• Money is dirty.
• Only dishonest people get rich.
• The best way to wealth is to get a high paying job and work hard.
• Some are just destined to be poor.
• Money is for a selected few.

Your belief about money can either attract or repel it depending on what you believe. The truth is that you cannot attract what your mind repels. To be rich you need to alter every wrong belief that you have about money. Clear your mind of such wrong beliefs. Think and talk abundance. When you are positive about money, it is attracted to you. Wealth does not begin with just what you do. It begins with what you think.

Not Thinking Enough: In case you don’t know yet, the highest paying job in the world now is the ability to think. This equally happens to be one of the big differences between the poor and the rich. The poor “work hard” while the rich “work smart”. The difference between the two is that the former is more of physical strength and little of mental strength while the latter is more of mental strength and little of physical strength. When you apply your brain more you toil less. There is always an idea in the back of our minds that we can harness and create wealth. We are just too mentally lazy to refine these ideas and make them profitable. Someone once said, “If you do not have enough is only because you do not think enough.” There are still more human problems to solve. In case you do not know, the more problems you can solve, the more money you can make. The only thing though is that solving problems demands thinking enough.

Settling for An Average Life: If you’ve have listened to the rich talk about how they came to wealth you will likely here something like, “I was determined not to settle for less.” or a similar statement. They are simply telling you that they didn’t all of a sudden have it on a platter of gold neither did they become wealthy just by merely wishing for it rather they were bold enough to get out of their comfort zone, took calculated risks, refuse to back down, giving life no other option but to give them their demands because they have paid their dues.
Many are too afraid to place enough demand on life. They prefer security rather than opportunity; clinging tenaciously to their comfort zone. They fear change and are unwilling to take risks. They prefer mediocrity than paying the price for excellence. The result is an average life or even something lesser. The truth is that you cannot be better than you desire to be.

Misuse of Time: You become rich by using your time wisely; investing a good chunk of your time working on your goals and ideas. One habit of the rich is proper time management. They understand that there is a huge difference between activity and productivity. Every use of their time is for something worthwhile. The wisest man that ever lived once said, “There is a time for everything …” When you misuse the time meant for planting you may never have anything to harvest.
Every rich man I know started his quest for wealth early enough. In case you are still wondering the connection between money and time, let me break it down: What you do with your time today determines where you will be tomorrow.

Spending More than You Multiply: If you are the type that plans on how to spend money even before it comes to you, you are only practicing poverty. The rich think more about multiplying money, the poor think more about spending it. Don’t forget that multiplication is what creates abundance. Warren Buffet, one of the richest in the world today bought his first shares at the age of eleven. I’m not saying you should run off right now to go buy some shares. I am only emphasizing on the need for you to invest your money if you want to be rich. The bottom line is; invest more than you spend.

Lack of Information and self-development: You must have heard that information is power. This is true (depending on the quality of the information). I think there is a connection between what you know and what you do. The truth is that you cannot perform or do better than you know. Your ability to transform your ideas in to wealth will depend on what you know. I’m not just talking about going to school and acquiring formal education, I am rather talking about self-education. Self- education is learning all you can learn without waiting to be taught.

If you ask me I will say that self-education is more strategic than formal education when it comes to wealth creation. Little wonder majority of the rich ones are those who never saw the four walls of a university but were consummate learners. They learned all they could from the world around them. Open your mind to information, read books. Build your mind and you will build the quality of your ideas and increase your earning ability.


Lack of Financial Goals: Some people find it hard to safe money no matter how little. They easily spend whatever comes into their hands and their next option will be to borrow. They borrow until they are heavily indebted. One obvious habit that leads to poverty is spending more than you earn. Learn to create a financial goal, decide what’s truly important to spend money on, how much you‘ll save and even how much debt you can handle without jeopardizing your financial future.

Neglecting the Law of Giving: Have you noticed that the greatest givers are the richest. They give billions yearly and their income seems to increase than diminish. I know you will say, “They have more that is why they give more.” I don’t think so. I think they have more because they give more. You know why? One of the greatest laws of the universe is the law of sowing and reaping or Law of cause and effect. When you give you attract relatively a higher measure of what you’ve given according to the principle of harvest. (The spiritually-minded will understand this better). I may not be able to explain this in more details here. But learn to give for worthy causes. Wealth answers to giving.

The people around St. Peters' area, Olomore, Abeokuta were shocked today to find the body of a dark-skinned lady dumped at the refuse dump near the taxi park. The lady looked like she'd been tortured as one arm had a deep cut. People in the area called the police who came and after almost three hours, removed the body.

The news of his death was made public by the president of The Golden Movie Ambassadors of Nigeria, Comrade Saidi Balogun early this morning.


The actor made wave in the early 90’s in many Yoruba movies. He was famous for his roles as leader of crime activities

He died at the age of 60.

The accident happened this evening on the Shagamu-Benin express road at Delabo Junction.

A tanker carrying diesel and coming from Shagamu lost control, crossed the road to the other side & a Nissan pathfinder SUV ran into it.

People risked their lives by scooping diesel from the tanker.

Prophet Walter Magaya says poor people cannot worship God.

In a recent sermon he said :

“When one is rich and they have truly given their life to God they worship God truly. When one is poor they cannot worship God. It is in the mission of the devil to destroy people through poverty because he knows that when you are in poverty you will become a complaining machine instead of fulfilling your true purpose which is to worship God. The mammon god is the one responsible of controlling money. The mammon is the chief God of poverty. He directs the flow of cash. He ensures Christians are poor so that they will choose to be heathens. The mammon god also works in conjuction with marine spirits and ensures they take money to their kingdom.


When a demon of poverty attacks it does not attack an individual but it attacks the whole generation. You are not only poor alone but you are also poor for your children. It attacks the father, child and grandchildren. It uses four weapons, it uses the spirit of lack, pride, debt and lust.

When these four spirits attack you, you will not be able to separate them. These spirits make you live a lie. They make sure you start to believe your own lies. It blocks your eyes and it even leads into divorce and people believe they can do it on their own. When this spirit attacks you it makes you love the ones you are supposed to hate and makes you hate the ones you are supposed to love. When this spirit attacks you it ensures you never identify your blessor. No one succeed on their own you need people to succeed.

The spirit of poverty ensures that those around you are there to take away from you and never to give you. You are surrounded by people who are destined to take away from you. When you are under this spirit you are ever fighting and it ensures you cross the path of your blessor so that they walk out on you and you remain in poverty. Time and chance happens to them all and how you respond to the person who is supposed to bless you is what determines your success.
