ygowon: It is the constitution that will force them to do the right thing. When they do the right thing, employments is one of the results and the youths will be working and living responsibly but if one is idle, the devil takes charge. That is true sha. but you will equally agree with me that the youths are the ones who can bring that constitutional change. Left for these old men, they have enjoyed their youth and have got nothing to loose. These men achieved all that power they now have in their youth. The likes of Buhari, Obansanjo, Gowon, Ojukwu, IBB, just name them. They used their youthful strength to amass those powers and shaped our corntree to how they want. Now it is our turn to reshape it to our own reality. |
Politics › Re: This Country Is Just So Depressing! by 2elliot: 2:14pm On May 02, 2021 |
ygowon: The problem is still the bad leadership because if the government had provided a conducive economic environment, businesses and companies will thrive and that means more investors. And that also results in high employment rate. If the youths are gainfully employed, no one will be idle before the devil takes over him. Go to Dubai where almost all indigene are rich, rate of armed robbery there is at minimum. So, the government should situp instead of stealing our money.
Let the government reactivate all the government owned companies and put a strict penalty to mismanagement. Let the government make money from the companies and reduce taxes to attract investors and more businesses, that will provide plenty jobs for the youths.
But what the government know is tax tax tax increasing tax everyday. Transfer money, tax everyday tax There is no leader that is not a youth or has not passed through the youth phase. There is a terrible decay in the youth phase. Until that decay is cleaned, we can not get that one leader who can do or become magic. Check all our corrupt old leaders, find out their past, have there been any difference? That wicked Buhari of 1984 is the the one 2021. Nothing changes. |

The youths are the problem of this corntree. We are the fuel that drive and sustain this failed country. Whenever we are ready and say enough is enough, then things will change for good. Truth is that, the armed robber that will come to rob and rape and even kill you at night is likely not an old frigile man. The kidnappers kidnapping innocent people are mostly the youth. The people our corrupt leaders will send to harrass and even assasinate you for speaking against their leadership are the youth. The sycophants who support and fight for PDP and APC are the youth. Helinues and the sarkki and the Madridguy and others defending Buhari's failures here are probably youths. The police or army officer that will harrass, extort and even kill you when you step out or drive out, is likely a youth. The fulani herdsmen, the boko haram members killing innocent people, are mostly youths. The yahoo yahoo frauds, the cult killings, are mostly by youths. The election thugs disrupting elections and rigging for politicians are mostly youth. The thugs that caused chaos and disrupted peaceful endsars protests were youths. We must tell ourselves the truth that no country can succeed or fail without the youths playing the biggest roles. Our leaders are failing because as youths we have failed. And until we set our priorities right, we will continue to fail. |

silos: You forgot that, it was Ojukwu that cut short Adaka Boro's struggle for Niger Delta Republic? Yes, I know that and that is regretable. He later went on to fight on the side of one Nigeria after his release from prison by gowon. His anger against Ojukwu took the best of him and he did not negotiate anything from the Gowon govt. It became a lose lose for him, till this day. One Nigeria does not even recognise his sacrifice. |

PatrioticmanOO7: Oil has been a curse to this people. A serious curse. What they own, they hardly enjoy it. At least the common man there doesnt benefit 1 cent from it.
The irony is, on facebook, you still catch some of them fighting their Igbo neighbours... Their own relatives by blood. Meanwhile the vultures they left unattended are chewing down on them, crushing and sucking all from their lands completely dry.
The sadness of this case makes one understand that mankind is evil. So painful. My family land hosts Shell petroleum yet there is nothing to show for it. And my people are silent. |

Jagunlabiodua: Ijaw are even a bigger cowards than Igbos, you have crude oil but no development, no refineries, no seaport nothing all you Ijaws do is blow pipeline fight for pipeline control. What happens to owning oil Wells and drilling them yourselves? You can’t coz you are lazy men. The only people that fight for right in Nigeria are only the westerners, the others are noise makers I am very angry right now! Truly, we are the biggest cowards in the world. My community, Obunagha in Yenegoa LGA in Bayelsa is surrounded by oil and gas, in fact the whole clan is filled with oil and gas. We have one of the biggest oil and gas reserves. Yet there is nothing to show for it. The oil exploration by Shell is in my family land yet we are not benefiting anything. Most of the indigenes here only work as contract staffs and paid peanuts and are sacked withing months to two or three years, while strangers are the real permanent shell staffs and paid huge amount. We just dey sidon look. Every single thing the community enjoys is through masses protests. There is no state govt infrastructure to show any appreciated for laying the golden egg. Our 13% derivation to our state govt by fg is nowhere to be found. As I am talking to you, I am jobless and so many youths. Well, I am now mobilising youths for a movement, we will be writing to Shell and the state govt and the state assembly. We want a major stake in the affairs of things, a new MOU must be made and we input our demands in it. We can't be feeding useless one Nigeria fat while we suffer. But if nothing is done, we will stop work. I will personally burst pipelines. This and more reasons is why I am supporting Biafra. I can't live with coward ijaw men who will allow our exploitation go on in this one useless Nigeria. |

MrMaestro: No it won't work. Different people different cultures. There's no reason It can work. Let it be confederating units. Let it be in a way that each community controls their resources. Not even states or regions should control resources. Every community must take responsibility for themselves. Every community would have developmental bank accounts from which monies from their revenues are stored and used to implement their development. From that central bank, poorer communities and states or regions could borrow from for their development and pay back from revenues from that infrastructure. This will ginger hard work from the community levels, and so no feeding bottle system will be tolerated. |

Well both of you are too small to stop two Empires like Oduduwa , as for Igbos we will cut you off from Asaba, Hausa we cut you off from Jeba and Kogi. Hausa+ Igbo can’t stop Oduduwa. Do you know why? Because unlike the Igbos who like to boast and have nothing to show for it on their land. Yorubas are the industrialist and industrialise region in Nigeria. We make high grade weapons, When Western region was running its government, France, Nigeria, China, Malaysia were little babies to us in terms of development. I have nothing against the Igbos have many as friends but stop seeing yourselves as better than anyone especially Yorubas. It is not my business. Just don't antagonise us, go your way and stop dragging us into your course. |

Deadlytruth: . You are even being lenient with that monicker. Their father Zik said it openly that he was ready to pay the ultimate price (i.e death) for Nigeria to remain intact. The same Zik was the originator of the cliche that 'the unity of Nigeria is non-negotiable. In one of the pre-independence parliamentary sessions the same Zik declared that his Eastern Region would suppress her quest for independence until the North was ready to join him and his Igbo kinsmen to form one-Nigeria. Another Igbo man named Aguiyi Ironsi Even went as far as promulgating Anti-secession Decree after he and Ojukwu had successfully got Isaac Adaka Boro sentenced to death by hanging for seeking the breakaway of Niger Delta Republic from Azikiwe's one-Nigeria. But these hypocrites. and followers of Nnamdi Kanu will not tell you all these but always jump to blame Isaac Adaka Boro and mock his death as if the death of over 3 million of their own kinsmen over the same secession issue is less serious than the that of Isaac Boro who was just a single individual. Zik was lead by his pan african believe system which was seen as a good deed in his time. The need for all africans to be free from the colonial masters is a factor and his history as one born in the north could also be one reason. It is regrettable his actions has caused us a lot. But it is high time we moved on. |

Binaowei, that is the sad reality, but anyway the labour of our hero Adaka Boro will never be in vain. Ikpo nua binaowei. Ari bulou foru yen kin. Truth be told, Adako Boro struggled in vain. He shouldn't have joined Nigeria in the civil war. He should have continued with his Niger-delta movement, or bargain for something bigger either with Biafra or Nigeria. His anger toward the Igbos due to his incarceration by Ojukwu and Ironsi took the best of his judgement. And now we are not well treated by the one Nigeria we sacrificed both men and our resources for. Our oil is being enjoyed by the fulanis and yorubas. While for the most down south, we are forced to become like the tompolos and boyloafs before we can be taken seriously and given change. I am not happy. We need to be in control of our resources. |
