ImperialYoruba:
I cannot trust yanminri from here to there, and I dont sleep in hotels where yanmiri lodges as guest.

Distrust is a default of their society. It is why every ibo man sleeps with machette under his pillow. It is not to protect family against intruder, but to strike and cut his son to pieces should the lad try him in middle of night. You wonder, why would a son try to hurt his father in middle of night? It's their gene to hunt humans. They are fed human knuckles and choicy human flesh to turn them into fearless warriors. Unfortunately many hunt at home in modern times, not in forest. This is why the father, whose gene led him to choke his own father to death in sleep, must now arm and sleep with a machette under pillow, if he doesn't want to experience a choke hold from the beast he raised and fed roasted human meat from age 6. It's a cycle. Im truly surprised Nzeogwu did not drag Sardauna away for a feast, but we learnt parts were missing from Balewa, and Akintola's corpse was taken away by Onwuategwu.

Shior!
No tribe fought and killed one another like the yorubas before the white man came and brought civilization to Yorubaland. And that barbarism until recently ended with the Ife and Modakeke wars. But that does not mean that such barbaric instincts are gone. Yorubas were the first to start political savagery and thuggery, bringing upon the country this great calamity. The barbaric politics between Akintola and Awolowo resulting in the crisis that was nickname wild wild west.

So, you don't believe your own Yoruba man(Adewale) who told the whole world why they struck? Sometimes, I do think that Awolowo was behind the coup from prison, since the men planned to bring him to power after they have succeeded.

Free the nipple..

unclothedness is women’s thing. In the Olden days, only men do covers their private part, women were always mostly naked..

If you observe well, women always like to be naked than putting things on.

Nobody tells women to be showing their cleavage, it’s their instinct that told them so..
Nobody tells women to be dressing semi nude, it’s their instinct..

Evolution is fast occurring. The era whereby women would be dressing totally naked is coming. Ask Pastor Righteousness for verification..
If the law or men had told women to go naked, same women would have shouted to high heaven that we are enslaving them, and that they want to wear clothes as men.

The attempt at revisionism will not work sir. You shld have just stayed with your last paragraph. It may probably have not started as an ethnic coup but at the end of the day when it was time to review the accounts,. Westerners and Northerners took 99.9% of the losses. And someone still want to explain it away?
What is revisionist about what I wrote? The planning of the coup involved several persons; in fact, some pulled out because the permutation involved spilling of blood. Some of them wanted an harmless operation(an arrest). And besides, the initial target of the operation was just about 8persons, every other persons were collateral damage.
Yes. I agree with you that the north and west suffered almost all the loses. But then, circumstances played a big part. Perhaps someone may have tipped the eastern leaders. It was even alleged that some of those casualties were tipped off too, but they didn't listen or believed that such a thing could ever happen.
The core of my argument is that the coup could not have been a premeditated Igbo coup. That idea is irrational.

Stop defending ironsi and other top igbo leaders that miraculously escaped.
If today, someone brave enough decides to take down this govt in order to clean the dirty system. So, in your myopic mind, the likes of Osibanjo and a few refined politicians should also be taken out alongside some very obvious corrupt politicians just to prove a point that the person's mission is not partial? Is that what you would expect? No right thinking person will argue that a few Igbo soldiers attempted to overthrow a democratic govt, and then expect to rule the rest of the country in perpetuality. Na ment? Does it sound logical to you? Let's forget political and tribal bants. Unless, perhaps, some powerful foreign powers like even the Britain was in support of such move. It doesn't sound logical. How did they expect to fight of the pressures that would have arose from both domestic and foreign? The eastern region at the time had not much to gain from a united unitary system, since neither oil nor any major natural resources(revenues) came from other regions at the time. The push for minorities break away from the south east was still yet a threat at the time. So, what could have possibly motivated it?
But you see, power was concentrated in Lagos, and the major political gladiators were from the north and south west at the time. And with the political crisis that erupted in the south west due to the wild politics between Awolowo and Akintola, and coupled with some other issues in the north that led to crisis, the soldiers hastily adjudged the situation and felt it was good enough reason to cleanse the system. Perhaps, they should have given it more time and hoped on the political gladiators to receive some sense eventually.
So, you see, my guy. Even if we continue to analyse the past and apportion blames to one another, what has happened has happen. We who are living must find a common solution. If not, we will continue running in circles.

It was a pure Igbo coup and that’s why they didn’t kill the premier of eastern part..

A counter coup was hoisted as a revenge hence why Ironsi was killed..
I can recommend some good books on critical analysis and logic. Learn to analyze history based on the era and the circumstances surrounding the event and not through the lenses of the present. Only that way could you get a grab.

Why didn’t Gen Ironsi support Dipcherima whom the rump Cabinet has elected as Acting Prime Minister

on the advice of the attorney General ?

Why did Ironsi then insist on taking over unconstitutionally?
Look, I am the last person to argue for Ironsi. Just like I hate Adaka Boro for selling we the ijaws out for one Nigeria, it is the same way I hate Ironsi. Just maybe, if he had not come into the picture, things would have been different and better. If the coup had succeeded, and Awolowo was brought to power as some of them claimed was one of their intentions, then we wouldn't have gone on this road that leads to destruction.
If not that some of you like bringing up these stories, personally for me, they are bygone stories.

dont get it wrong,i understand, your point of view concerning this, but all those other coups didn't follow similar rythme as that of nzeogu,if you read history it was the first coup to happen in Nigeria, ironsi didn't have a hard time defeating nzeogu to regain control,as a matter of fact there was hardly any battle, and in the end nzeogu wasn't put in prison as it should be,he was walking as a free man,so many red flags hanging around, not to mention how he converted money given to him for a different purpose to arm his colleagues, also there was a controversial cartoon poster about the northern elites who where killed during the coupe one year after it happened which triggered mixed feelings, you cant talk about other coups with highlighting the first.the first of anything is the best reference because each that follows is an exact replica of the first, nzeogu thought our soldiers a bad thing and they followed same as festus okotie eboh thought our politicians corruption. i understand your pain, its not easy to be always reminded of a hurt or wrong you've done, but history exists so you can prove people wrong.
Try to read the real history. The coup failed because some of the soldiers had cold feet. They weren't as brutal as Nzeogwu. In fact, some of the soldiers pulled out when they were told that it would involve spilling of blood.
Again, why Ironsi found it difficult to prosecute Nzeogwu was because he Nzeogwu bargained for that before he accepted to relinguish the power he had in the northern region. Nzeogwu was disappointed when he got the information that the coup failed in Lagos, whereas he had already succeeded in the northern region. Fearing that he would be prosecuted, he planned to pull the northern region out since he held that power at that moment. So, he used that power to bargain with Ironsi for the freedom of his boys, and also asked that those who have been killed should receive compensation (to their families).

Like the thousands of piglets that perished with the pogrom or the 3 million that were suyanised subsequently.
Infact, the tiny barren sad east is the poverty capital of the south at the moment with their home grown terrorists running riot
First of, I am an ijaw man. Talking about death stats, many Nigerian soldiers died. In fact, over five of my uncles who fought on the side of Nigeria died in the war. One of them who was the most exposed and enlightened in the family was killed by Adekunle, a wicked Yoruba soldier. He was killed because he alerted those of my kinsmen and towns men who were sympathetic to the Biafra course, who were of course on the wanted list of the Nigerian soldiers. When the killing of the ijaw supporters of Biafra got to my place, and when the soldiers could not get the marked me, they accused my uncle. He was subsequently killed by Adekunle.
What I am telling you in essence that, a lot of people died even on the Nigerian side. And if you were wise, you will realise that all most all of those who fought and killed Biafrans are all dead. The remaining ones are on their way to the great beyond. Whichever way, nemesis have caught up with them. And again, the wanted killings and lack of justice in a supposed peace time have resulted in more deaths of Nigerians than the number of Biafrans killed during a war time.

Awolowo was imprisoned for planning a coup even before the 1966 coup. And the intention of the coup plotters was to release Awolowo and give him the seat. This could mean that same Awolowo was behind the coup fr prison.
Don't forget that it was same Igbo men in the persons of Aguiyi Ironsi and Ojukwu that stopped the coup from succeedding.

A Coup that was masterminded, orchestrated and executed by key heartless people like ; Chukuwama Nzeogwu, Anuforo,Onwuatuegwu, Emmanuel Efeajuna, Humphrey Chukwuma, Don Okafor
Is what?

Is it a Fulani coup? Our problem in this country is when the truth is against our interest or affiliations, we always tend to see it as campaign of calumnies against us.

Truth should always be truth, irrespective of whether it favour us or not.
