The Northern politicians are stylishly throwing their support for Atiku You are pathetic and lack understanding, did you read the part where it was recorded that he scored 0 votes in the governorship primaries? He's leaving for his selfish ambition and not because of any nonsense Atiku. If politicians that could not mobilize 1 vote for himself in a governorship primaries is the people Atiku is banking on to win election then Apc should just be dancing for the victory God has given them already. |

After stealing Lagos State dry, converting the revenues of Lagos to his private pockets and those of his family and urchins, people will still want him to transfer similar affliction to the entire country.
Back to the topic.
It is not the Presidential Candidate that will have the sole authority to chose his VP, take note, political neophytes, so don't fall for this cheap trick. We will support Asiwaju because ha has a proven track record of performing irrespective of what you think. On his mandate we stand because non of your favorite has what it takes with his record of performance in governance. Will they commit mass suicide or will they finally jettison their destructive hatred and work with the new government to better their own region and people also?

The same pigs like you said Buhari can never back a southern candidate ahead of the primaries. Now you have shifted goal post that he's backing a southern candidate to betray him at the main election. Have you asked yourselves what Buhari will benefit by doing that? Firstly, the distance from adamawa to katsina is as much a distance from ibadan to katsina and you think Buhari wants Atiku that doesn't belong to his party and his kinsmen thinks are not even Nigerians ahead of a southern candidate from his party? A lot of Nigerians don't know anything about the North and just have this myopic lazy reasoning that the whole North is one state. |

If you think they won't actively campaign for the individual that's where you will know what politics is about. Supporting the next president to be from your party is not only for the persons interest but for your own interest as a politician. You think all the governors with second term ambition will want to leave Apc where they are grounded and become second fiddle in another party before they are accepted? Trust me once Buhari presents his candidate they will all align. It's the same reason Wike is not leaving pdp despite the obvious betrayal from some of the governors in pdp. |

MyExpression: If Wike had agreed to support Peter Obi, he wouldn't be facing this calamity.
His greed is what gave Tambuwal the temerity to betray him.
Wike betrayed his own people by insisting on his mandate...because he had Rivers money to spend Peter Obi was the best consensus Eastern candidate to have been supported unanimously.
Even Atiku would have honoured the rotation principle if Wike had stood by PO and pressured other zones to honour the party agreements. I think sometimes Nigerians only comment without understanding but out of emotions just say things without thinking it through. All the southern governors met and ratified that presidency should return to the south. They did not state that the presidency should go to southeast or southwest all they said was south. Now the rational thing that should happen is to at least vote a southerner in the primaries even if you won't vote Wike whether it's a southwest or southeast candidate. How do you now explain Southern governors from the eastern states who not only did not vote Wike but openly supported Atiku in the primaries. If that's not betrayal to the south I don't know what it is then. |

Do you know what it means for a southerner to get Kano and katsina delegates, talk less when running against a Northerner? stop playing the north v south tribalism card.
By the way a vote for Peter Obi is just as much a wasted vote. 1) after spending all his money to fund labour party that has no structure and coming 3rd in the election, I doubt a stingy man like Obi will vie for office again, so your vote is indeed wasted. The point in voting a man who cant win is to encourange him to try again. By the time Labour finish fleecing him, the man will have no money left and because he has gone on and on about integrity there is no way he can go back to PDP with any integrity left. Release Nnamdi Kanu and if a single killing happens again, then you go after those people as common criminals and blast their brains off their head.
Oh! I forgot that Buhari’s powers of prerogative of mercy is only exercised on corrupt people and petty thieves, and not on someone whose release can save an entire region from carnage. To me is a win to those people that want to control how the vote should go. On the contrary, this is the tailor made situation for the governors and it's the legislators and presidency in Abuja that have lost out with this delegate arrangement. Do you think any election is going on at the grassroot level to elect delegates? The governors are simply sending a list of their cronies who will be delegates at the party primaries hence they hold all the aces. This is exactly why the legislators quickly want to do a last minute ammendment of the law they passed themselves which has shot them in the foot. |

eldoradoxx: " This implies that since the APC presidential primary starts on Sunday, May 29, if the President does not sign the bill into law by Sunday (tomorrow), the political office holders, including Buhari, may not be able to vote unless they have been voted as delegates".
Our political class are the most irresponsible, always seeking a short cut to power. If as Governor, Minister, President, VP, Senator, Rep member, Commissioner, House of Assembly member or political appointee at State or Federal level and party member, you cannot go to your ward to get accessed by your people and be found worthy to vote in elective convention as a delegate, then you don't have any business being in government. Buhari should not sign any amendment. Go to your ward and see your party members from your ward for the home truth regarding how they perceive you. While I totally agree with your submission and this would ideally be the best way to elect candidates in elections. The challenge is that Nigeria is a dysfunctional country and things don't go straight like in an ideal society. As it stands, the governors have pocketed this ammendment and they are the ones selecting delegates from their states and not the party members, so whoever the governors tell them to vote would be winner hence why the National assembly members quickly want to ammend it. The governors would determine anybody that would Win election in their states next year if the law is not amended. |
