Redrosely: Hmmmmmm... The matter tire me sef. Called my parents to let them know that I've bought the idea of coming over with the kids during the holidays to ease of, na dia story change oh. My parents said I can only come over now on d condition that I carry my kids to my in-laws place n come alone. That d cannot feed d kids of a man who disrespected my mum like dat, saying the will only be doing him a favor and he may have more time to flirt more knowing that his children are ok where they are. They insist that,if I suffer for the kids from nw,they will still return to their dad after all my labor,so I shd save myself the stress of giving them away now. The suggest I walk out of d marriage alone n remarry. My question now is how will I do such to my kids. I'm yet to wean my little son. What guarantees d second marriage of being a success? I never wish to even marry again shd I walk away from this. Note my marriage is an inter tribal marriage which my parents kicked against due to some reasons. Your parents should be ashamed of themselves. I wonder how they can get away with saying this rubbish to you. No wonder your husband disrespected them. So the best advise they can give you is dump your kids and pretend like you never had them so you can remarry. Smh. |

Born and raised and her mother’s father is probably Nigerian too which is how we determine heritage over here. |

Having twins have to do with the woman and not the man’s sperm. But you are very stupid for blaming her for the gonorrhea. You chased her away and she obviously moved on, I suspect you moved on too. When she came back she found out she was infected. What is the assurance that you were not the one that infected her? Unprotected Sex comes with consequences so man up. You must do DNA and if they are your children then you can take care of them. I think you toyed with this girls emotions a lot. Why convince her to keep the pregnancy when your intention was to dump her? OP you are wicked! |

tiwiex: I am thinking monogamy is overrated here. Why start begging an individual for something as available as sex. I think he should have had a girl friend in Abeokuta. I think guys who stay faithful and are deprived are being tortured deliberately. She believes that guy can never cheat and is having fun with the torture. He also needs to stop coming home every weekend. And he really should get a weekly companion. It would relax him and take the tension away. Let him see this as therapy. Getting sex from his wife now will look like a dog getting a treat for good behaviour. Social conditioning. Me too dey proud for that sha. Maybe that's me I guess. In marriage and life especially when there are kids you don’t make such emotional decisions |

olawonder: For us it is a religious wear, period! What u think u want for young girls in the society doesn’t matter... all man to himself, but if anyone believes that head coverings serves the purpose of preventing perverts (something I believe u actually are but pretending to be against) from going near thr daughter, then leave them be. Its not as simple as being labelled just ‘bedsheet’, its virtuous and the cancer in societies as we know it today started when other faiths went too liberal. I know that the bigotry u guys hv for the religion is the underlying problem but we are more than ready to argue with u guys... we will never succumb to your already destroyed ways of life! Tell your religious gibberish to the king of Saudi inviting Nicki Minaj to come and twerk. Did they not give you religion and the decent dressing you are shouting here? Keep putting your children in bondage because one guy told you that is the way to live and raise them up. |

Better don’t go and beat anybody for your siste that enjoys beating. If the man dies she will blame you for beating her husband and depriving her children a father. Face your own life and tell her to let you know when she is ready to leave. I am sure you men have your own problems in life. Just remind her that if she dies there, her children will end up in motherless home because even you are managing to feed. |

olawonder: You hv wandered far frm your faith so you wouldn’t understand the connection dress code has with confidence, as well our faith. And u need to stop assuming that how u live within your own household is how everyone else is living or should live their lives! Frm young age is when real parents teach their kids to ‘hide’ their bodies in ‘bedsheets’ so as to prevent ppl of your clan frm molesting them! If we guard their chaste frm young age, there won’t be any need for them to come on media interviews and cry foul of being raped by ppl like u who believe they don’t need to know anything about dignity. And frm your statement now it seemed u want their ‘natural endowments’ at your disposal, A’odubillah! Now who’s the pervert? The little girl in Hijab that was molested by an Alfa nko? Guard their chastity indeed. Is Hijab a chastity belt? Does it prevent them from removing it when they want to have sex? You are a sexual pervert that is why the female body offends you. Those children did not ask to be dressed in Hijab, you forced them to wear it! Whatever they decide out of your physical force you cannot stop it! You are only forcing them to assume a false sense of chastity on the outside but they do whatever they like with their bodies because at the end of the day, you can’t control that. LOL. Treat your issues first and take your children to Muslim school. Or you can wear them Iro and Buba on their school uniform since that is your own culture. You don’t know Hijab is a cultural wear as opposed to religious? |

danjumakolo: lol, I taught the mother of your GGod(Mary)wore Hijab toooo. Enter a y Catholic church, you will be greeted with her pic showing hijab written all over her. It’s a cultural dressing for the middle east because of the desert. It’s not a compulsion on Christians because culture is separate from religion. Why not wear Danshiki to school? In the name of religion you appropriate another persons culture and you are fighting to make it a norm. In this hot sun in Nigeria? |

olawonder: Feeling very upset about these Christian deviants! Leave these kids alone pls, they wish to wear something that give them confidence in their outward look, why try to violate that? If they are forced to wear it, they’d hv removed it before getting to sch! All faiths have the hijab (today’s Christians are too ignorant to check), y’all decided to abandon it and go naked doesn’t mean Muslims should follow suit... pls respect the dignity of these young girls. Did these children tell you that they want to wear Hijab or your forced it on them as a student? What do they know about confidence and dignity? Are you making them confident in their bodies and natural endowments that you teach them to hide themselves behind a bedsheet . What is naked about the school uniform? Why are you so afraid of seeing children in school uniform? Are you a pervert? Do children turn you on? |
Culture › Re: African American Tourists Visit Oba Of Benin (photos) by 2mch(m): 3:07pm On Jul 05, 2019 |
bigfrancis21: Two factors checked the spread of Portuguese influence and the continued expansion of Benin, however. First, Portugal stopped buying pepper because of the availability of other spices in the Indian Ocean region. Second, Benin placed an embargo on the export of slaves, thereby isolating itself from the growth of what was to become the major export from the Nigerian coast for 300 years. Benin continued to capture slaves and to employ them in its domestic economy, but the Edo state remained unique among Nigerian polities in refusing to participate in the transatlantic trade. In the long run, Benin remained relatively isolated from the major changes along the Nigerian coast. The Portuguese initially bought slaves for resale on the Gold Coast, where slaves were traded for gold. For this reason, the southwestern coast of Nigeria and neighboring parts of the present-day Republic of Benin (not to be confused with the kingdom of Benin) became known as the "slave coast." When the African coast began to supply slaves to the Americas in the last third of the sixteenth century, the Portuguese continued to look to the Bight of Benin as one of its sources of supply. By then they were concentrating activities on the Angolan coast, which supplied roughly 40 percent of all slaves shipped to the Americas throughout the duration of the transatlantic trade, but they always maintained a presence on the Nigerian coast. The Portuguese monopoly on West African trade was broken at the end of the sixteenth century, when Portugal's influence was challenged by the rising naval power of the Netherlands. The Dutch took over Portuguese trading stations on the coast that were the source of slaves for the Americas. French and
Nigeria: Atlantic Ocean
English competition later undermined the Dutch position. Although slave ports from Lagos to Calabar would see the flags of many other European maritime countries (including Denmark, Sweden, and Brandenburg) and the North American colonies, Britain became the dominant slaving power in the eighteenth century. Its ships handled two-fifths of the transatlantic traffic during the century. The Portuguese and French were responsible for another two-fifths. Nigeria kept its important position in the slave trade throughout the great expansion of the transatlantic trade after the middle of the seventeenth century. Slightly more slaves came from the Nigerian coast than from Angola in the eighteenth century, while in the nineteenth century perhaps 30 percent of all slaves sent across the Atlantic came from Nigeria. Over the period of the whole trade, more than 3.5 million slaves were shipped from Nigeria to the Americas. Most of these slaves were Igbo and Yoruba, with significant concentrations of Hausa, Ibibio, and other ethnic groups. In the eighteenth century, two polities--Oyo and the Aro confederacy--were responsible for most of the slaves exported from Nigeria. The Aro confederacy continued to export slaves through the 1830s, but most slaves in the nineteenth century were a product of the Yoruba civil wars that followed the collapse of Oyo in the 1820s.
http://www.edofolks.com/html/pub158.htm Yoruba didn’t sell themselves until the civil war. So it’s impossible for Bini people to sell Yoruba’s before then. |
