Robert Adeyinka Adebayo (9 March 1928 – 8 March 2017) was a Nigerian Army Major General who served as governor of the now defunct the Western State of Nigeria, 1966–1971.He was also Chief of Staff of the Nigerian Army and was Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy.

For those of you who do not know...Western State included all the states presently in the South West, Lagos excepted. It was divided in 1976 by Murtala into Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, then later on Osun was carved out of Oyo in 1991, then Ekiti was carved out of Ondo in 1996.

It was later in 1967 that the present day lagos state was carved out. This explains the participation of lagos state in the burial events.

By virtue of section 148(2b) also, the function of the president is to co-ordinate government. No need for emotions here.

When military returned power, he was one of the senators representing old oyo state in the second republic 1979 - 1983

He relinquished the political power to the son, Isiaka in the third republic who became first governor of osun state in 1992 - 1993 when the military sacked the republic

Isiaka also returned as a senator twice in the fourth republic both under pdp and apc

He intends relinquishing his senatorial seat to become the governor again next year.

The road in question is not illegal but the construction was not completed before it was abandoned. It is by the the fly-over in front of the public service institute. Many road-users were surprised to see it blocked on Thursday.
