It is not a hotel. It is high-rise luxury apartments for the top people that will establish and run the factories and industries. Got it now?

Stop mocking him. He actually los 2/3 of his wealth, he is now bankcrupt. Naira is not yet a currency been among the 5 weakest in the world and third in Africa.
You don't get it. Whatever happen to the valuation of Otedola's wealth in dollars afffect everybody that have his wealth in naira. If you had N460 in your account in June 2014, you would be valued as having around $3. Let say no interest and no withdrawal till today, you will still have the 460 in naira but worth only $1 in dollar term.

That Dangote, otedola, or anybody for that matter suffer decline in dollar valuation means they invested the bulk of their wealth in Nigeria economy. If naira exchange rate improves today, they automatically recover even without put any additional efforts.

She has a moral obligation to correct/advise her husband if he's goin astray. If there's a perceived change in plans for d worse from buhari, then I think she has every right to speak up. I find what's happening in dis country disheartening to be honest. Hon. Jibrin shed light on d fraudulent dealings in d NASS, instead of investigating more in order to validate his claims, pple (even d so called future of tomorrow "youths"wink condemned him and pushed for him to b kicked out of d house. Aisha Buhari, without any form of coercion or blackmail, willingly granted an interview and raised some concerns with the way things are goin under d current administration. She left her comfort zone and spoke up with the interest of nigerians at heart bt instead, as shallow and low minded as some are, they've come to attack and condemn her too. If pple who come forward to make revelations dat myt lead to the positive change we all desire r being put to d sword like dis even without comprehensive investigation and facts gathering, then wot hope do we the masses have in dis country? Who do we count on to bring forward d truth and have d courage to speak it? Who wld want to expose themselves so d pple de fighting for can end up being the ones calling for their head? Geeeeez, dis is actually very scary. If pple become afraid to say d truth cos of d unfair backlash they might receive. then lies will remain prevailant in society. Youths, dnt b quick to judge pple dat have possibly sacrificed so de can speak d truth in ur interest. The pple who make up d government dnt like us d way de like dem selves. They will always put themselves b4 the masses. If we persecute the few who have tried to speak up in favour of the masses, then it simple means we discourage pple from being honest with us which is wot any government would cherish. We d youths need to think, talk and act smarter. No government official loves and cares about u as much as de will to their own. WAKE UP PPLE!
Well don't assume that I am a youth. Marital fidelity covers loyalty too. If one has to be looking over his shoulder on what mischief the wife may be up to, one is done for. If your opponent have your wife on his side, hmm...pray hard. I am not saying she shouldn't have an opinion or even differ from her husband method of governance, but the manner she has gone about it publicly is not neat.

She can shout all she cares in the house but in public, she should maintain semblance of unity. Hillary knew about Bill's philandering, she didn't publicly call him out but that doesn't mean she approved of it. PEJ was said to differ with GEJ on the concession of defeat but nobody could quote her.

Will her interview make Buhari give good governance? I don't think so. She has only succeeded in dissociating herself from Buhari's failure which brings us back to the issue of marital loyalty.

I think Buhari and his wife have differing perceptions of their purpose in government

This is not the first time that Aisha will publicly call Buhari out. The other time that Buhari denied promising N5,000 to indigent people, Aisha practically called him a liar publicly and insisted that APC must fulfill its campaign promise.

Like a poster said earlier, one may not like Buhari, but the approach of the wife leaves much to be desired. You don't degrade your loved ones just to be in the good books of public.

PropertiesRe: Lagos To Introduce Monthly Payment On Housing by 2n2k(m): 9:51am On Oct 11, 2016
volo112:
it is not meant for all houses. lagos HOMS IS a project by the lagos state project (Home Ownership Mortgage Schemes).

The State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, who stated this after embarking on an extensive inspection tour of projects across the State, said his administration has decided to scale up the rent-to-own policy by introducing monthly payment plan whereby people can pay monthly instead of being compelled to make a down payment of 30 percent of the total cost or pay for one year

He said: “We believe strongly that people should be able to pay one month rent and live in our housing schemes. We don’t think in a recession, we should be having a situation where we allow people to come and buy when they don’t have money or to come and pay one year rent. We think the way to move forward is to allow these our younger ones to just pay one month deposit and pay one month rent and move into the houses and then more or less play up our rent-to-own scheme,” Governor Ambode said.

this is a good initiative by the govt for its housing schemes. this is not meant for the houses built by residents. it is meant for the ones built by Govt. under the lagos homs project
Many people don't take time to understand the nitty-gritty of a concept. I doubt if The Nation reporter himself understood what he reported on hence the misleading headline. Why not "Lagos to introduce monthly repayment by its housing scheme beneficiaries" instead of making it sounds like rents are now payable monthly by tenants in lagos state

This is a nice and wonderful innovation from the State Government of Delta. If they can keep the tempo up in this manner it will spread over all the Country and business will be encouraged for those who wants to buy landed properties for businesses across the Country.
Not an innovation but copying. El-Rufai introduced it in Nigeria when he was FCT Minister in 2004. It was called Re-certification. He established AGIS and re-issued all C of Os. Since then, Kano, Nasarrawa and Ogun States governments have copied and implemented same. Lagos and Niger states only copied the land digitalization aspect of El-Rufai concept but did not re-certify the old C of Os.

APC will never conduct any local government election without the assurance of the INEC REC in that area that APC will win everything
PDP winning some local government will unsettle and distabilize the state government
INEC has nothing to do with local government elections. The elections to local councils are conducted by the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) set up by each state government.

They are are just exploring another route on how to peel their money out of Nigeria fastest ..if this test is successful they will soon mandate all routes to book with a credit card
Most credit cards issued Nigeria are naira denominated. The cards issued on domiciliary accounts are mostly debit cards. So, how does adoption of credit cards help their case of currency repatriation?

It's just a subtle way to reject the naira so they can easily repatriate their money. They have been looking for an excuse, and now they've gotten one.
The policy is applicable to Brazil route for now and most Nigerian passengers on Emirates are mid- and far-east bound. If they want to reject naira, they would have applied it on more frequent routes.

Naira credit cards can be used for Emirate booking depending on your credit limit and your bank policy. I once used Stanbicibtc credit card even before the introduction of this policy.

I think in general Nigerians and our leaders are all economically stupid. we keep talking about less than 50 billion dollars to pull us out of the recession or save us as a nation. Considering the global purchasing power parity, where price of goods in london is the same in naija or even higher, how can a nation of 170 million people(my figure)survive on 50 billion dollars when uk population is 70 million and yet they are owing over 1 trillion dollars.

OBJ was quick to pay back debts....what ever the negotiation he thought he succeeded in making, he should have been borrowing more to build refineries and create 247 electricity in order to attract foreign industries in Nigeria.

As for this recession and the dollar exchange rate...the only way out is if we build refineries and ban all export of oil, refine and use our oil, and any refined products left, sell to neighbouring african countries....

Once we can achieve that, the next step is to invite companies whose products are massively patronised by nigerians to open their factories in Nigeria or risk banning importation of their products.

Lastly, we cannot operate under one umbrella with the tribal divide. We should function as uk or us....the 4 regions should have their own government which reports to Nigeria...regional federalism.

We should have one official language....BROKEN ENGLISH

How did only Nigeria manage to have 250+ languages sef.....who all this plenty language EPP.....

For Zombies...time is not your friend....only time will prove GEJ as one of the best presidents naija ever had....and OBJ as the worst naija ever had...

We need to clear some issues here before it gets muddled up

1. Nigeria foreign reserves are not kept in the vault of CBN, they are mostly deposited in many foreign banks but the cbn being the banker of government serves as the manager of the funds. If government needs forex, it will approach cbn, how cbn calls in the necessary deposits from foreign banks to pay government is the internal affairs of the cbn.

2. In lodging the forex with foreign banks, cbn is just like any other customers to those foreign banks

3. Soludo felt that since these foreign banks are banks like Nigeria banks and they use our money to do business and considering that the Nigeria banks had become bigger due to consolidation then, he made a policy that they too should become custodians of our foreign reserve like foreign banks but there should be a learning period under foreign banks for them. That was why local banks had to partner with foreign banks of their choice and the pilot scheme started with $7b in 2006.

4. The $7b were lodgements in banks not a loan. It is not that the banks will make a bullet repayment but the cbn would have been withdrawing over time just like any other customers. If you lodge money in a bank, you don't call it loan and you only withdraw at your discretion.

5. Foreign reserve is a fund not revenue. Revenue is derived from exports (of oil and others). That is what is shared by tiers of government. The cash backing in naira would have been provided by the cbn and spent by Nigeria then. There is nothing to retrieve from cbn again to be shared. If the cbn had failed to recover any of the lodgements, it would have made provision for such loss by now, but then, it is its loss, not loss of government revenue

6. Banks don't need approval of shareholders for treasury management just like cbn doesn't need approval from anybody (national assembly inclusive) on how, where and when to place/lodge the foreign reserve.

improve healthcare by building world class grade hospitals and improving on the service delivery of our general hospitals, equip them and employ all these nigerian doctors working in US, UK, etc hospitals
trust me, foreigners will fly in for treatments, i call that healthcare export.

get stable and affordable power supply for businesses, homes and hospitals

get a maintainance plan for our roads, both federal and state roads, this will reduce non productive hours spent on the road, it will improve the lifespan of our vehicles and money saved from repairs can go toward better things.

do you even know that getting good roads all over lagos for instance will make houses more affordable for the masses?
yes, when there are good and motorable roads in any area, people will migrate there and when there is less demand and more supply in expensive areas, landlords will reduce their rates in those areas.

this is how to START to grow the economy.
Ideal points, but just that, ideal.

It is easier for a billionaire to double his net worth than a pauper to make his first billion

If we have the money to do all these, we won't be in recession. We could have started when we had money, but we missed the bus. Now we need money to spend ourselves out of recession but there is none or at best little.

If GEJ was a good economy manager during his time as you portrayed him, naira should have appreciated in value from N150 that he met it. It should not have depreciated to N240 given sustained high oil price throughout his presidency.

Oil prices started falling in August 2014, by December 2014, a space of 4 months and with oil price still at $75 and full production, GEJ depreciated naira to N197/$. What would have happened under him if oil fell to $40 and half production?
