chemashie: I dropped over 5 sites in US/UK where you can buy cheap electronics on this thread but people are still looking for what for ways to fall flat. Many info marketers have used info on this thread in their seminars to make money, that was why i went solo for a while. Someone contacted me after seeing this thread & still has gut to ask me to train him free after all he learned in a paid seminar. People should start dropping what they have achieved rather than asking questions.

bro, the state of the mind of a average Nigerian is really pathetic. I dont really know how to explain it. Is it that people have become soe lazy to ready or what?

I am not surprised at all by this. I am remember when I created a thread to sell my domain flipping ebook and places the price at 4K. Some people will still send me an email asking me how much I was selling it for. some will say it is say it is too cost. 4k too cost AND to think that I am selling what I gave actually done. whereas there is guy on complete sport who has been selling domain package for 3 years now and charging 20k per head.

Give me a time with that guy and I will prove has never sold a single domain nor has ever registered domain.

People need to take advantage where they see it. Among the people that even showed interest was one who said he is waiting for the people that bought my ebook to come and testify before he will as if I am begging someone to buy. He forgot that I have been in the Internet marketing business for long and I can easily understand any Internet business model, adapt easily and get result. When I was learning the domaining thing I didnt say let me wait for any one.

I am quite the adventurous type and I dont wait for anyone. I dive after careful observation. Presently, I am thinking of paying someone 20k tp teach me web development beyond the usual wordpress website that I know of. That is me and how I do my things, especially when I know that what I will gain will benefit me in the end.

Dont be surprise that some people, after reading this, will still attend seminars.

Vikin: i wish you would serve in PHC, although you will be posted to teach but you can still find your self in some oil service company. if not, during your one yr stay, you develop yourself professionally and start your job search before passing out.

Honestly, I tried working it through a friend to PHC but according to him, there were only 2 slots and the only one left was reserved for him. I have left everything in the hands of God. If he could send me to school without my parents, he sure can do more. I have evaluted my life since 2008 till this moment and the most beautiful thing is that he has always sent me angels in human form that has been helping. Serious, that is a summary of how I have lived my life till date. Most of the things I have enjoyed till date where through not even relatives of mine. So, I am not worried anymore. If he could feed the birds in field, how much more I being a human and a son of his. I hope you understand what I mean.

Vikin: Society of Petroluem Engineers(SPE) its not only petroleum engineers that are allowed. Infact i think most people in there are majority mechanical. You can register at the venue of conference. I think they normally hold their meeting every month in Lagos, Phc, Warri etc. For PHC, i have forgotten the day but will find that out from a friend later.
The annual conference is where the executives attend mostly, but your participation in monthly/weekly meeting will make you more closer to getting connection.

Exactly! SPE is not for only petroleum engineers , but all professions that has a role in the oil and gas industry. So, don't watch from the window. Get into the ARENA! This ia one of the best association you have out there. They dont joke with their members, especially if you are an active member. I remember some years ago a student from my school had the best paper presentation for the annual conference which was usually hosted in Abuja. Believe it or not, that was an automatic employment for him into the industry. Total grab that guy like hot eba.

Vikin: Another method is going to oil and gas annual conferences in Abuja and Lagos. eg SPE conference, NAPE conference, Offshore west Africa conference, Oil and gas conference.. Register there (Cost about 15k), go to most technical presentation, and the exhibition. Those conferences are where the Managers and top executives show their faces. Be bold to ask them for placement in their exhibition.

Thats where i got my first Employment.

The way you carry yourself matters, you outfit, presentation etc.

they may even indirectly interview you to see if you are smart and outspoken before collecting your cv and asking you for test.

Go to the oil servicing company not the usual shell, total, mobil etc (those ones no go look your face o)

yeah... I will be going this to this year's SPE conference by God's grace. A lady, during one of SPE student section, shared the similar story how she got into the industry because she was an active SPE member. SPE dont joke with their members from what I know.

I googled how much fb.com was sold for, and what i saw was mind blowing- $8.5million. Still can't believe that someone can buy "air" (something literally empty) for a crazy sum of cash.

Nope fb.com isnt empty. It was receiving some traffic, possibly as result of the existence of facebook.com. Therefore, Mark Zukerberge saw the need to acquire it.

In a situation like this, you dont goto meet them, they come to you. This gives you an edge, an upper hand,an advantage to do shakara sef.

Under such circumstance, the smartest thing to do is to do your own research and find out who the buyer is. Sometimes you could find info and sometimes you may not.

So maybe the seller did his research and found out who the buyer is. Transactiona like this are rare to come by and I dont think it was a day process. dont be surprise that it may have taken up to 5 months or even a year because big companies are like snakes when dealing with you. They will hire someone on to come to you. The person could even come with an email address from yahoo.com or gmail.com. the reason is just to buy the domain for as cheap as possible but if you are very experience in something like this, you will know how to handle them.


For instance, a friend gave a story of how someone contacted him using a yahoo email and pretended to be something else. They started at a very low price but ended up selling that particular domain for $12000.

but another determining factor is the shortness of the domain. In domaining, the shorter the better. talking abou fb.com, 2,3,4 letter domains are highly priced because they are brandable, short and catchy. You also consider the age of the domain in this case. Maybe fb.com had been with seller for 5 years or so...

AK Money: Dear house, please can anyone suggest another procuring company from USA to Naija aside Circuit Atlantic? I try buying a $130 used laptop on ebay through them but they charge almost $100 to bring it to their office outside Lagos which I found very exorbitant. I also try a laptop of $350 and charge $137. I found this annoying because the so called cheap products on ebay turns out to be expensive when procure and source this way. I wish chrisvic could source from USA to Naija too.

You probably want the goods quick. try the longer waiting option that is almost a month and see how much they will charge you. Though some adviced against using shipito.com but I may take the risk because they have a variety of options which is quite cheap IMO.

I havent spoken to any of their representatives yet but I think I will do that soon. Try the calculator over at shipito.com and see things for yourself. Happy New Year.

Presently, the curren trend is BIG DATA, an off shoot of cloud or should I say sister?

I joined the train in November this year and came up with some BigData doman. Thoug I missed one that really pained me and it got snapped a few hours on the same day I brainstormed it. I felt bad for days. it was like losing a dear one to death.

I currently have one that will be sold in January. The buyer came through referral from a friend. My friend contacted some people and one replied him asking if he has any big data domain of a particular nature. So he referred the person to me who has agreed to contact me by first week of January. I cant reveal the domain now because in this biz, some buyers dont like it when a seller reveals the domain which they bought.

Let's just say its currencynameBigData.com. Go figure.

When I checked my one of my Big Data domain which has been parked, I saw that it recived a traffic from USA, probably someone that is interested in the name only to find out that it has been registered.

So let's see how things will eventually pan out.
