I do not know what the motifs of these individuals are but I know that self-love is very healthy. You cannot give and you cannot get what you do not have. Even the Bible says 'Love your neighbor as yourself'. If you love yourself, you will shine brighter than the sun and your happiness will spill over. Others will love your company and feel re-enregized around you.
