babs787: Ok, did Jesus not say that he would sit judging the 12 tribes of Israel? When did tribes become ALL NATIONS OF THE WORLD? babs787: You yourself know that we have verses in the The Great Book where he was sent to the children of Israel and also made an example for them. The ko'ran isnt a reliable source. babs787: If you are even deceiving yourself, there are verses in your NT showing that he was sent to the children of Israel. there are also verses where Christ specifically asked His disciples to preach to the nations of the world. |

They wish they have 1/10th of Sade's talent, which would explain why her tours still sell out and they are left doing late night infomercials Which would explain why Sade has sold more records than them and claimed 8 grammy awards. I'm not taking music suggestions from someone listening to Sade Adu. Even Doyin's param music would be a better idea. |

A french passport is automatically an EU passport that does not require a visa to the USA. If i were in their shoes i'd never ask for independence. |

4 Play: I thought the decision to merge the Northern and Southern Protectorates was unsound but history didn't start there.
If the British didn't come in,perhaps the 'Fulani Jihad' would have led to the 'dipping of the K'oran in the Atlantic.' Didn't they make it to Kwara, that is not far from Ogun State. By now,you and Olabowale would have been telling the world about how the Bible was corrupted. That is true. in that area i'm glad the Brits came in and saved us from the swords of al'lah. Bros God forbid . . . my mom probably would not have married my dad and i would never have joined olabowale to talk about a corrupt bible and defending polygamy. Kobojunkie: I disagree. I really wish I had time to write up about the events that occured after the brits left. All these did not happen during their stay but after they left. We did it to self does not mean the merge was wrong. North and south gained from the merge during the boom back then and I see no reason why we can not do so now. You are the only one who indeed can see this "gain". Kobojunkie: I will say that if you look into History, the British gave rule power over to Nnamdi Azikiwe and Awolowo, who both happen to be from the south. It was not until after the war that Gowon become president, infact Biafrans consider Zik the Saboteur. Azikiwe was just a figurehead . . . the real head of Government was Tafawa Balewa. Awolowo ke? Ordinary minister of finance abi wetin. |

Kobojunkie: Problem is the folks in the south are actually more corrupt in numbers when it comes to leading. I am not being anti-southerners but if you compile a list of people in leadership roles who have wrecked that nation and I mean all government leadership roles, I would jump out and say the south has a higher number of those. We keep getting numbskulls in seats they do not deserve and that has nothing to do with the north but more to do with the south not being able to deal best with situation we find ourselves in. this chairman sef. From 1979 downwards pls show me the southerners who ruined Nigeria. Have you taken a look at your constitution . . . especially the ridiculous land use act decree? |

Kobojunkie: I do remember campaigning back then and even though I was not old enough to vote, I do know people went out to vote and whatever happened, had nothing to do with the brits. I don't believe 1914 was a catastrophe though. I am of the mind that it was a good move and all we need to do is find a way to use it to our benefit. When it comes to population, the south actually holds more people than the north, has always been the case. If the south really wants to take back rule, now is the time with democracy back on the shelf. Why are southerners still divided Chairman take off the blinkered "i love oyinbo" glasses. How was 1914 a good move that benefited us? Rather it was a smart move by the Brits who needed the resources of the south to sustain the north while the north provided much of the rudimentary nigerian army. It was to their advantage to leave the north essentially educationally backward in order to rule them more effectively via divide and rule tactics. Now you ask why the south cant just sieze power . . . bros if it were that easy i too could just wake up tomorrow and sieze power. Gideon Orka and his gang tried it and we all know where they ended up. |

aloib: ahem!!! grabs mic as a theology student, studying salvation history, jesus before and after christ having almost a semesteral course of scriptural inerrancy, etc, let me just put this across to you. the bible is more or else like a book written by scholars who were either present when everything written in the bible was going, or those who were present whule listening to prophets like isaiah jeremiah talk about their encounters. these books were collectively written together amnnd then put tpogether to form the BIble.
these things were all written by different writers from historical facts, eye witnesses etc so of because there is bound to be a few misinterpritations and stuffs written based on history is not expected to have inerrancy.
according to my theology teacher the things in the bible were written just to pass accross the real intention of the writer. a lot of you misinterpret the bible and take the literary form used by the authors.
as i was taught, some of these things are based on the ancient greek, hebrew culture. etc etc. plenty of engrish. Give us examples. |

Kobojunkie: I am not for the Brits coming back at all. I do not see the reasoning in that logic at all. I do know that it is time for us to quit blaming the brits for our issues. I am glad you also note yourself that Nigeria had almost had 20 years of good economy until the 80's when we took a nose dive into the mud of our own. I remember the people voted Shagari in back then. The Brits did not have much to do with that decision and so blaming the brits for the commotion that came after that is illogical. No one is blaming the Brits for our subsequent decisions. I blame them for the catastrophe that was 1914. Besides . . . who voted Shagari? Maybe you need to go read the history of that masterpiece example of intelligent rigging. |

Ibime: A lot of Nigerians did. I know my grandmother did. I also know her brother didn't - he was more politically minded. Anyway, yes, a lot of Nigerians did because there was no instability (except 1945). They could go out and come home in peace and food was on the table. That was a reflection of who we were as a people until corruption, poverty and desperation completely changed our national psyche. A hungry man who has searched fruitlessly for a job for 10yrs is a time bomb waiting to go off . . . it has nothing to do with whether the British policed us effectively or not. The British left in 1960 . . . up until 1980 (20yrs after) our economy was still favourably on par with those of the Asian tigers until Shagari came into power and we took a nose dive. Nigerians built Ahmadu Bello University, the Yoruba's built Unilag and OAU without the British . . . all these whinning for white people is just sickening. You want the Brits back then go to London and stay there hearing stories. Have a blessed nite R-D |

olabowale: 1) On the Issue of Jews being apes and pigs: Allahu Ta'ala gave them a commandment in observation of the Sabbath. The fisher persons among them engineered a way to beat the system, so they thought. But the All Knowing knew their deceitful device. So for this action, He punished them by turning them to apes and pigs. (A deserving punishment it was). But it did not mean that all Jews are apes and pigs. Unlike Christian God, the Mus'lim God punishes whoever wrong his own soul, by committing sins. (Big sins). 1. Where is this recorded either in the christian bible, in your own injeel, the ko'ran or secular history? 2. Why was al'lah ever interested in the sabbath? When did it become a mus'lim rite? 3. Al'lah turned an entire nation into apes and pigs because a few fishermen broke the sabbath? Does this sound sane? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Does This Make Me An Unbeliever? by 4Him(m): 9:50pm On Feb 29, 2008 |
olabowale: @4Him: Injeel is a continuation of Torah, since they are in the same book, the Bible. Both focused and spoke to the same people, the 12 Tribes of Isreal. We read from the Old Testament that when Moses gave them drinking places, it was drinking places where each nation (tribe) had its own, separate from the other nations (tribes). The bible never confused the 12 tribes of Isreal to mean "nations". It is deceptful mus'lims with ulterior motives who struggle to read such lies into the bible. olabowale: Please try to read that portion of the Bible and bring yourself to par, in the New Testament. Nation is nothing more than tribe in the Bible, hence Jesus was sent to the Children of Israel nations which you termed to mean the whole world. Nations means tribes, and not world which will include African nations and the rest of the other nations of the world, even though they are all in different continents. what rubbish. Where in ur injeel did u read this? |
