for the so called AT thingy, i guess ur talking abt the "ATGCONT bla bla thingy? thats for using dial up on xp and vista when u cant set the apn manually.
so ur dashboard does not allow u to set glo APN?

flash the modem into vanilla mobile partner, and anor firmware then. haa, this una wahala over this glo thing is too much, about 7 threads already. we don explain the thing tire, E DEY WORK simple!!

the repos is ur place to start.
95 % of the stuff u will need for ur install u will get from the repositories. the remaining five % usually u will just have to add new repositories to the apt sources and then install via synaptic.

its a bit different from windows in that here u get ur softwares from central repos which are vetted and secured unlike windows where u keep downloading .exe's from everywhere and installing. it also comes with the added advantage that ur apps get updated automagically, unlike windows where u chase ur updates urself.

hmmn, i dunno o. but i flashed my modem back to the firmware that its supposed to be on.
remember i used to get these speeds months back, then i flashed the modem to anor models firmware. i think thats what killed it sha. i was lucky to find the old firmware and downgrade.

NB: these speeds dont stay perfect, it fluctuates. actually its been averaging 150KBps, then it goes crazy for like 1 full minute, then goes back!!!!!

reminds me of a research i saw once, simple question was " in what language do you think?" or what language does your sub-conscious (mind) speak?


the answer has a lot to do with what kind of behavior you end up exhibiting!!! cue certain scenarios and your responses in your mind and you will see that when you reason in your mother-tongue, youe behavior and reactions are different from your "oyinbo goju" responses
