i just saw a nexus one running ubuntu today, nearly passed out!!\ full desktop ubuntu |
funny thing is, im sure u know you could always skip updates if it bothers you so much!!!!, or select the ones u want. it NOT A MUST U UPDATE, ITS JUST adviceable, to enjoy the latest improvements. and there are times updates bring regressions too so . . . . . . and u can also turn off the notifications too if the update mgr is bothering you!!! right now my fear is when the next release comes out, i love upgrading, but right now i have so many apps and tweaks that i hate to think of where to start to get my pc back to what it looks like yet am desperate to try gnome 3, its not coming with meerkat i know, but a fresh install is all the excuse i need to try it ![]() |
keep both ![]() seriously , i used to be a major mozilla fanboy but now, chromium does it for me all the time, esp as it now has adblock thats effective. sigh, well i dunno o, but i vote chromium, ditch mozilla, at least till firefox 4 gets outta beta then we see what they come up with. early impressions for me is that they just ripped chromium up anyway, esp with looks |
better, so where is that place make i come visit u there this wknd, i get 4 os dvd distros i wanna download, thats just like 16Gb plus maybe 2 films, at 5mbps, it shld be a breeze ![]() |
it is, apart from the useless applications compatibility wahala i put it on my pc, boot it occasionally to see, used it over the weekend just to use YIM.1st time in a long time its very very beta sha, ram footprint of like 512mb, cool sha for a winblows os. all the usual freaky stuff still are there. registry ish just cos i installed a game that dint run, after installing 5 programs and removing them from startup, starting is slower now. . . . . . . . . . . to each his ororo abeg, |
close your teeth |
see dis boy o, even the pple wey buy the wifi network sef no dey rock am like dis!!!! na free i go help those pple charge u for wifi stealing!!! infact, gimme their address first ![]() |
what are you pple talking abt? @ xtreme, and all if you have a glo sim you want to activate its like this simply put.: 1. NEW MODEM, NO 3G ON IT (no 3g signal) put ur sim anywhere, modem, fone, toy anything, as long as it can send and recieve text message, type ACTIVATE in a text message and send to 444 they will activate ur sim for 3g.( usually a day or less) for faster process, call them customer care and ask them for the activation that you wanna subscribe to a bundle and dont have 3g active. EVEN FASTER IS LOAD 500 BUCKS AND ACTIVATE DAILY PLAN. then call dem and ask for it that you have an active bundle but cant browse. 2. MODEM HAS 3G, WANTS APNS load 500 bucks, text 10 to 127. they will respond and switch you to gloflat apn. from then onwards you will be able to use ANY apn, but note that gloflat is the one for data bundles. this usually is the fastest way to activate the sim. NOTE: 3g activation gives u the following APN: glogwap, glomms, glosecure bundle activation gives you APN: gloflat as for the reason why all of a sudden u all trying na activate, well u should chop alone o, no worry all una, e dey una body |
not unless u explain better ![]() i take it the pc had onboard (inbuilt) bluetooth? very surprising though, cuz i know win7 has those type of drivers easily. maybe u should do a fresh install. NB: did u check device manager? does it have devices that have no drivers? for win7 its usually better to connect to the net, then rightclick those devices in dev mgr and choose the update from the net option, it usually does a good job of locating the right drivers i say this cos its a different kettle of fish entirely if the device isnt even detected at all. anyway for windoze, a fresh install is always better |
very funny. better apply your hands to that your tailoring job properly!! and leave all these one, it will only lead to perdition |
^^^^ man i dont know for you o, but i use a E156G i bought from mtn, and it connects glo. all this write code etc, i no sabi for you o. like i said b4, activate gloflat, use THE RIGHJT DIAL UP SETTINGS and try it, it will connect, as long as the modem is unlocked and sees glo network, it will. i used to say it didnt connect too, (even didnt enjoy the last glofbt sef, cos i thot my modem no dey work) i later found i was using the wrong settings all along, try it first |
don't know for you pple but thats not a good draw for arsenal thats 6 matches in eastern europe in the cold, arsenal traditionally does not travel to eastern europe well particularly when its freezing. hope that you all know home wins will be the only basis for arsenal qualifying and when the time comes, no complaining and whining. it's what it is |
NO!! i don't understand, and i have been looking thru my codes to see how many count charge i will prefer against you all, and its not looking good, iv counted 9, and thats just the first enactment sum one start speaking to 4llerbuntu asap, else 8am 2mrw, i serve u with a subpoena ![]() and i dont do compromise and settle outta court!!! wonder why u need his e mail address just to tell him how to check balance and the mumu sef was sooo eager to drop the mail addy. after u go say dem send uu yahoo mail or dem hack u |
interesting. whats all these sudden talk abt sim? its a criminal offence not to carry 4llerbuntu along o, i hope u all know? |
if a glo sim is 3g activated, that is you can see 3g signals on your fone or modem, you are activated for glogwap and glosecure automatically. unless and until you subscribe for a package, you will not be activated for gloflat for glo3gvideo, i believe that one is a separate parol entirely with glo, call them. so i guess activating a plan ought to activate you for glogwap, glosecure and gloflat note, glosecure is pay-as-you-go, glogwap is also pay-as-you-go for phones, gloflat is for data plans |
cant believe u pple were actually listening to this joker, he wants to sell a dial up accelerator? i mean jeez 1. its not possible to "accelerate" the internet, you can reduce the band width demands of the user by various ways, e.g compressing webpages, using adblock and script block addons e.t.c bottomline is your internet isnt any faster, its just that if you want to surf, instead of rendering a 300kb page, you render a 80-100 kb page, the ads blocked from displaying, the jpegs reduced in quality by the servers if you believe you need to pay anyone for this, then you are very very ignorant. for one, opera inc. does this for free with their patented tech on opera mini which they have since adapted for the pc browser. you have various adblock addons free for most browsers, and even if you think you need software, please its free everywhere starcomms has one for free download, like wise many small java apps that do the same thing e.g TOONEL very funny sha, 7,500 the price for ignorance ![]() |
haba, u still wan dey shre the moi moi connection on naija 3g? i pity the "customers" wey go come una cafe o |
install a small package called usb modeswitch just type that in the search box in synaptic, and install. the dongle is not recognised as a modem, just as a storage device. furthermore you can just try ejecting the storage thingy, rightclick on the icon on desktop ad eject. some modems behave like that but switch to modem mode when ejected. |
lol she is nots workins oooooooooooooooooooooooooo |
700 kb only? when i dey cross 1 mb, and e dey show normal time!!! its not a matter for argument sha |
plug it in, restart the system with the modem plugged in check network manager if its detected, then configure if its not then: open a terminal, type dmesg and find / dev/ttyUSB0 or / dev/ttyACM0 the modem should be detected on either then do hardlink to the appropriate one: type ln /dev/ttyUSB0 /dev/modem or if its the other its detected as do: ln /dev/ttyACM0 /dev/modem then go to network manager and setup a connection as apprpriate for multilinks OTHERWISE, GET ALTERNATIVE INTERNET ACCESS: then install Gnome PPP or GPPP as its called that will help u set up a wvdial connection easily with a graphical interface. |

be careful when naija networks give you free internet, they usually are just gathering info abt your connect routes ![]() |
netotse:hehehe, yeah telecomms, well if im not wrong i pay very high tarriffs for crap services, yet i praise the hallowed providers for giving me the opportunity to own a phone that makes me hungry just to keep up with and is often times useless at the very moments i really need it in the power sector that would be like having power 18 hrs a day, with 12 hours critical period when the power is actually half current or low current or whateva its called. then i will always say that glory be to the FG and those coys for giving me 18 hrs daily power, i can remember back when power was non-existent, but now i have a lot of low current ![]() dude, watch what you pray for |
