The war in Yemen is probably the most underreported story today. This conflict has the potential to spiral into a major regional conflict. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/8429843.stm The increased violence in Yemen is a clear indication that military campaigns to crush al-Qaeda-inspired violence extend far beyond the borders of Afghanistan and Pakistan. |

In the spirit of the rotational Presidency, Jonathan should resign and make way for a Northerner. There is an implicit understanding that the Presidency is to be rotated every 8 years from North to South. |
If you look at the poverty stats, Lagos has a relatively lower level of poverty. The higher levels of poverty in the South West is due to the surrounding states. In Nigeria, there are greater levels of poverty in the rural areas than the urban areas. What these stats reveal is the total disconnect between Govt investment and the poverty levels. A good lesson for lefties everywhere, including the UK/US. If state intervention reduced poverty, the North will have far lower levels of poverty. |
You know that you have hit middle age when you love to drive Jaguars. |
@OP Don't waste your time on this relationship. It benefits him far more than it benefits you. |
Nigerian women giving lectures on dating? A bit like Osama Bin Laden giving lectures on religious tolerance. |
United attracts the largest attendances, having the largest capacity stadium, so it's only natural there will be more arrests. No big deal. |
I find it hilarious someone claimed on this thread that the banks were fine until Sanusi came and ruined everything. I think Sanusi is not helping matters but the banks were screwed up long before he became Governor. |
Let's play the guess who it is game, shall we. I don't think it's Wenger because he's only into teenage boys It's obviously not Fergie as he is too dignified for such. |
Nigeria is much better than it was 10 years ago. The economy is bigger and people have a greater say over who governs them. Obviously, things are not ideal but its far better than 10 years ago. |
Afam:You are a funny man. |

Some people were moonwalking on the ice today. Thought it was an MJ imitation day. |
FL Gators:Almost all the women in the article said they won't divorce: Divorce is completely out of the way. Everybody has his own life to live. But open sex is out of the way. Because of my kids I will stay to get my own inheritance. Anyway, I don’t think he will have time for my sex, so I will stay. I won’t divorce -Obiamaka Aniegunam, PR consultant I will not divorce him because being famous has its ups and downs and one of them is being exposed to lust from the opposite sex. One should also bear in mind that it sometimes gets boring being with one person for so long especially for the men. Even from the biblical point of view, one should forgive. No, I will not divorce him. He needs prayers. Not an option -Omoshaba Grace, journalist No, I will not divorce him if there is no threat to life and I am legally married to him. If he still loves me and I love him too, it can still work out. It needs introspection -Temitope David-AdegboyeCelebrity writer, I guess the situation would require me to examine myself too, rather than pass judgment hastily. Fourteen mistresses? Something must be wrong with our relationship. If in the end I find it’s me that caused it, I guess I will let him go. On the other hand, if it’s just his position and money that entered his head, I guess we may have to talk things out. I feel that with all these wahala he has faced in few weeks, he won’t ever go back to it. So, I might just stand by him. I say no - Funmi Azike, beautician Nigerian factor, family and extended family might not allow me divorce someone of that status. And you know, we black women like to preserve our marriages no matter the degrading cost.I won’t try that -Aramide Oikelome, journalist No, I won’t divorce him so long as I am his only lawfully wedded wife.It won’t be wise -Bibian EgwuatuImmigration officer She who deserts the husband because he was tempted is not a good wife. A lot of women are out there waiting to enter and will tolerate the man so far their own right reaches them. I will show him love -Rubby Acholonu, businesswoman Since she was married to the man before he had concubines, she should be there. Again since the man loves her, she should love the man and take care of the house. Since the man did not bring the women home, she should stay and show the man love may be one day the man can repent and drive away those women. I want just his repentance - Atim Ikpeme, journalist I will not divorce him if he shows remorse and returns home. He is my husband and father of my children. Woods is no exception -Mary Eziashi, company CEO Ninety nine per cent of men cheat not to talk of a young man with that kind of wealth. I will rather concentrate in keeping my marriage by ignoring the rubbish scandal and beg him in the bedroom to protect himself well from STD and HIV if he must do mistresses. As long as I am loved and cared for by my cheating husband, I would stay. Men are animalistic in nature when it comes to sex. It is only by God’s grace that good wives stay in marriage. This is simply the fact of life. If I were his wife, I will not divorce him because marriage is all about facing challenges together no matter how tough. It is also about true love, which forgives. I leave him to his God - Agatha Emeadi, journalist I will not divorce him because death is the only recommended reason according to the Bible. His adultery is for him and his God. |
GDP is the wealth/output of a nation measured in dollars. . .if u dont want to recognize that as a valid measure, then its your problem not mine
You are a consummate olodo. So if a nation of 100m produces $1bn compared to a nation of 10m producing $900m, the nation of 100m is more developed than the nation of 10m? Wouldn't your bovine brain question why the 100 million people are not producing as much per person as the 10 million. That is the true measure of development. Otherwise, one can claim that Nigeria is more developed than Israel despite having lesser GDP per capita. |
u can see my post above. . .or i will renew it below Nigeria GDP per head, $2300 China GDP per head, $5,500 India GDp per head, $800 botswana GDP per head, $13,000 so i guess from your arguement botswana is more developed than india, china and nigeria combined. . .ode
In terms of wealth, I would rather be a Botswanan than Indian, Chinese or Nigerian. This Paddy Lo is thick. Effectively, he is saying than Nigeria is more developed than the United Arab Emirates or Ireland. |
that is exactly why u have to look at GDP. . . if not then a country like equatorial guinea will be considered richer than america. . because of small population. . i will give u another example. . .if lagos was to break away and become a country in africa. . its GDP will be larger than 40african countries or if u take abuja its almost the same thing my point is all this african countries u mention are one city state countries that have tiny populations u cant compare that to serious countries like nigeria southafrica or egypt. . its just being silly. . . better to compare Ghana to lagos. . . Lagos GDP, $34bln Ghana GDP, $16bln
Your point is ridiculous. Who gives a hell about gross income when the average Botswanan is better off than the average Nigerian. So because Nigeria's GDP is larger than the UAE's GDP, Nigeria is more developed or wetin? |
1.south africa. . . . .GDP $277bln 2.Nigeria, GDP $212bln 3.Egypt, GDP $163bln 4.Angola, GDP $83bln 5.Kenya, GDP $35bln 6.rest of africa. . .make una slug am out Link. . http://www.google.com/publicdata?ds=wb-wdi&met=ny_gdp_mktp_cd&idim=country:NGA:EGY:KEN:ZAF:GHA:AGO:LBR:ZAR:BWA&tstart=-315619200000&tunit=Y&tlen=48 and for all u ppl talking about botswana or ghana. . .na because say una never travel out of nigeria b4. . .
GDP is the gross value of goods and services produced in a country so simply totting up Nigeria's GDP and placing it alongside other African states is silly. Nigeria has a population of at least 150 million. Imagine 2 households, one composed of 10 people with gross income of $100k and another household of 4 people with gross income of $60k, which household do you think is better off? |
So because Sonangol, in a show of hubris, bid and won a deal to produce oil in Iraq, Nigerians should feel bad? Sonangol is just as corrupt as NNPC. Good luck with producing oil near Mosul. |
Ms Diva:Psycho-babble. Naija women do all of the above. Ebonyeyes:I'm just stating the obvious: 1) Nigerian women are under appreciated by Nigerian men 2) Nigerian women are not exactly hot cakes in the eyes of others. Is any of the above untrue? |
Ebonyeyes:Good riddance wetin, you haven't got much of choice have you? Men hold the aces as we are the ones who make the approaches that leads to the relationships. |
Ebonyeyes:Nothing in my post is untrue. In fact, your post illustrates why Naija women are not exactly at the top of men's wish list. Emotive response sans logic. |
These Naija women haven't got a prayer. They are not appreciated by their Naija men and Naija women are not exactly hot cakes in the eyes of white men. |
If creating states solves problems, then Nigeria would have been a much better place since the number of states has multiplied tremendously. |
FL Gators:Is that not you in the front row? ![]() |
savanaha:Plonker, make your case and stop stalking like some spastic oaf. |
Ebonyeyes:Allegedly, I'm telling you a black woman who have trapped him with a child. A black woman would have been on Oprah displaying their child. |
savanaha:He is arguably in less drama than if he had involved himself with black women alone. For instance, he would have had a string of love children by now because of the conniving money grabbing black women out to bag child maintenance money. ![]() |
Ms Diva:Less drama will do. |
@OP A bit of retarded logic here. |
