Pack out of your house!

Seriously though, it is obvious you are not comfortable with planes and aircraft flying over your house. What you are experiencing is a fear in your subconscious. I would advise you to move to a more comfortable domicile for your peace of mind.

Sweetlemon: LOl. op, with all the broke asss 24/7 Nairalanding men and the I-go-manage-any-kind-of-man females on NL, this your thread is dead on arrival.

Only realistic people will agree with you, and we are too few.
@shelter4luving, I hope you see this post amidst all this noise. It is the reality of the matter. Be a good unselfish and feminine woman and hopefully when its your turn your will attract the man of your dreams.

Babymama1: Another experience that stands out in my mind was on a trip from Nigeria with my mother.
This customs lady told me to my face to give her N10,000 or my bags will be searched.i told her I had nothing to hide,I didn't even have palm oil with me so she could go ahead and search my bags.
She got very furious and commanded her boys to search my bags ,I said go ahead
She wanted me to lift the bags to her table,I asked the nosy to held do it,she was furious
After the search, she started the delay tactics and one of the boys spoke in Igbo that I should stop being tough and just ask the woman to reduce the money and I said never and I responded in Igbo that the witch will not get a dime from me.
I was ready to make a scene if need be,the frustrations of the corruption in my country had gotten to me
My own mother said I should just give some money so we can leave ,I said mommy biko let me handle this Itshekiri or Urhobo witch that confronted me this day.
All the anger of the police checkpoints
All the anger of the sweaty ,dirty police man that jumped into our car and commandeered us to osisioma station and the one that hit our driver with the butt of his gun rose up within me and I was ready to give a piece of my mind to the shapeless amoeba before me
Jesus stepped in sha
A beg how did this end? Don't leave us hanging biko! I had a similar experience and it was my mom that paid of the person but I was severely pisssed!! angry

@shelter4luving what is happening to our men? Feminism.
Men are being "feminised" as well. No need anymore to play the strong dependable man, riding on a white horse to save the lady from a dragon. That's sexist. Now the lady is the one who saves herself while the men applaud her for being independent and able to make her own choices.
Gone are the days when men were ashamed to admit their wives were the breadwinners of the family. Now its a thing of pride for a man to fold his legs and proudly state his wife is running the financial affairs of the home, after all, there is equality in the family, no captain no head. Its a TEAM effort and anybody can play any role.

The bitter truth is, no man can take care of a child as well as a woman. Women are naturally endowed to cater for and nourish children both physically and emotionally. The man brings in the discipline and hardiness necessary for the child to grow and survive in a harsh society, the woman brings in the love and softness needed to keep the child decent, sane and human . but now women don't have time to do this and (most?)men know next to nothing about taking care of the kids.

The family unit is under serious threat due to this current trend in role reversal in the name of equality and people will keep painting the problem over to meet their own selfish needs.

Personally I think its all part of the divine plan. Things will deteriorate further and there will be absolute chaos. Then peace will come.
Family › Re: Is Indecent Dressing The Main Reason Behind Rape? by 5minsmadness: 7:33am On Jul 09, 2014
Don4perfect: Greetingz My Fellow Nairalanderz, This Has Been Disturbing Me, Especially When I Hear People Say That Indecent Dressing Is The Main Reason Behind Rape. If That Be The Case What Will You Say When You Here A 3yr or 6yr old Girl Is Raped. Is It That She Dress Indecently. Pls what are ur views?...
Indecent dressing is the main reason behind rape.
Other reasons abound. The person you described is a ped.ophile and suffers from pedophilia that is, being attracted to a child. Pedophiliacs are attracted to little children because they see their bodies as innocent and untainted. The natural protective instinct that prevents other normal people from feeling this attraction is gone. Some pedophiles have claimed that they couldn't control their actions that it was like an irresistible force.

Other reasons for rape include for revenge, to spite the person, psychiatric cases and sometimes drug induced like an alcoholic or someone on hard drugs who rapes a person.

liberty24: What would you do if you were married to a man who did not care for your kids and didn’t lift a finger to help you?
Before the name callers and hecklers start coming...

What is his reason for doing so, as in, why won't he help? Does he feel its the woman's job exclusively? Or is he too busy with his work i.e wakes up early, rushes off to work then comes home late when the kids have slept?
Is he angry about something? Do you view this as a change in his behaviour or this is how he has always been ever before you married him?

All these questions need to be answered, a lot of issues can be sorted out through discussion.

Family › Re: Top Reasons Men Withdraw Emotionally From A Relationship - by 5minsmadness:
liberty24: In a relationship, having your partner withdraw at an emotional level can bring confusion, pain and frustration.

Women who relate to men that do this are often bewildered by why and how this happens. Speaking as a man, and one who considers himself sensitive and emotionally available, there are particular situations and scenarios that cause me to withdraw. And I imagine that other men, regardless of how in-tune they are with their emotional nature, would respond in similar ways.

1. Its not about you.
Just because a man withdraws does not mean he is withdrawing from you.

First, I just wanted to express that when a man seeks solace or withdraws from a conversation, it probably has nothing to do with the beloved. It has more to do with the emotional intensity and confusion around emotions than with any particular person. It just takes men more time to integrate and understand the watery realm of emotions. And understanding emotions isn’t something that happens for us spontaneously in the midst of a heated discussion. We need space and time to figure out what is happening, both within our own self and with our beloved.

2. Meeting up to cultural expectations.

Men have been discouraged from feeling emotional. We have been mocked, attacked, and belittled when showing emotions. Big boys don’t cry, toughen up, and bite the bullet are all phrases men grow up with. So when we are faced with emotional situations, we are total novices. The biggest harm that is not recognized or appreciated for the depth of damage that it causes at the emotional level to a man is that men are expected to be tough, to protect, and kill to defend their family. Violence, and the expectation of violence, mandates an absence of emotional sensitivity.
It is a double standard to expect a man to be emotionally available and to have him be able to harm another human being.

3. Be patient with us!
Have compassion and understand the kind of conundrum that a man faces when being emotional vulnerable and awakening to deeper sensitivities. It is rare enough to find a man who wants to delve within and unleash his inner passion. It doesn’t mean that he is going to be masterful at it. For men to be comfortable in their own skin and accept their feeling nature takes a growth curve.

A woman has a lifetime of experience navigating the oceanic tides of emotional states.

Women grow up with emotional states and are accepted as sensitive, feeling beings. She is able to observe, feel, recognize and better communicate her feelings than a man.

Women are also adept at observing and recognizing the emotional states in other people. And when a woman finds a man who loves her, at some level, she feels a great deal of hope because she has found an emotional match, somebody who understands those hidden tides and influences. Women will share all their heart and feelings, and not understand how this can impact a man. And when a man doesn’t respond as she needs, the feelings of being hurt or misunderstood arise. How those feelings are expressed matter a great deal.

4. Men are emotionally inexperienced!
The best men want an intimate connection with women, and often don’t know how to do that.

Men don’t fall short in the emotional realm because we are emotionally immature. We are emotionally inexperienced. Men face expectations and pressure about emotions that are confusing and contradictory. And when we find a woman who loves us and we love in return, it brings to life a living fire that had been suppressed for a lifetime. Yet fires burn, and the burgeoning sensitivities is akin to a child learning to walk. We fall down, we make blunders, and we are blind as to how to listen and communicate our emotions.

Men experience a learning curve when awakening to their deepest sensitivities.

And just as any beginner, they make mistakes. Sometimes the mistakes are colossal, and sometimes laughable. Men need an emotional example, how to be live with and operate with emotions in a healthy way. We also need to be accepted as we are, beginners with beautiful intention. To demand for a man to have the mastery over their emotions is an outrageous expectation. For most men, mastery over emotions means suppressing them, hiding feelings behind a mask of stoicism, or just turning off the emotions entirely. It takes time to even identify the subtle emotions, let alone to know how they function and their influence on our own self and those around us.
Any teacher knows that mocking a beginner or putting them down, criticizing them or their approach, will stunt the learning curve, if not completely stopping it.

The beloved woman becomes that guide into the mysterious realms of feeling emotions. When she expresses anger, puts down her man, belittles or mocks him, a man feels attacked. When she demands him to be sensitive, a man feels.......

There are loads of things orther animal's brain can do that we cannot do. Did your god deliberately make us handicapped in those areas?
Agreed.

With a minor correction...
There are loads of things other animals brain can do that we cannot do because we don't need to.
Sense of smell? A dog can scent a drop of blood in an entire room. Its a hunter. It needs the ability. We have tools and other sophisticated equipment for that. We have advanced thinking faculties.

A hawk can spot a brown rabbit in a bush 30miles up in the sky. Its power of vision is amazing. It needs this power to feed. We don't.

advocate666: Next is water. You stated the characteristics of water but I'm at loss as to how they prove the existence of your god.
As you already stated, water is everywhere. There are even planets made of entirey frozen water. So there's nothing significantly special about water that will make me wanna start paying thites.
Water isn't on mercury. Water isn't in the sun. Mars as far as we know does not contain water. Jupiter does not contain water, although one of its moons has been postulated to contain frozen oceans.

Water is actually a scarce commodity in our galaxy and the known universe at large. Its presence wherever found is celebrated by scientists cos it signifies the possibility of life.
So water is a big deal.

You are quibbling over semantics. When the OP says the size of the earth is perfect s/he isn't talking of negligible differences in size. Mercury, the planet closest to the sun is a molten rock that is about a 3rd the size of the earth while Jupiter has been equated to be able to contain 1200 earths! We are talking of reasonable diameter and size and rotation and not spacedust.

Incidentally despite the perpetual cosmic shower of space dust you mentioned, earth is actually losing weight from internal combustion and not gaining it. How much weight? Close to 0.0000000000001% of its Mass in a year. How negligible is that?

"The greatest scientists have been struck by
how strange this is. There is no logical necessity for a universe that obeys rules, let alone one that abides by the rules of mathematics. This
astonishment springs from the recognition that the universe doesn't have to behave this way.
It is easy to imagine a universe in which
conditions change unpredictably from instant
to instant, or even a universe in which things
pop in and out of existence."11

quantum electrodynamics

@martian, lol , you actually got me browsing the Great leprechaun. Hahhahhaha. Are you AManFromMars?

I gave up trying to convince atheists a long time ago. Truth is no matter how loud we shout, no matter how long we argue, atheists have nothing to lose because they dont believe in anything. nobody knows everything and most people are governed by their experiences and beliefs. Some are going to be saved on the last day and others arent. Its not a threat of fire and brimstone. It is a fact.

I for one, do not push other mythologies aside as fairy tales for my own personal reasons and can see the similarity in them pointing to one unique being or entity. Maybe my exposure early on to other religions in the form of books has led to this.
