American war efforts are sometimes called mission. It is not just about asserting military might. It is not as if America considers an entire country an enemy territory simply because they have an anti American leader or radical group.
There's always the humanitarian angle, rebuilding efforts of the vulnerable. Considering that Sadam Hussein, Osama bin laden and even Gadaffi were killed showed the mission in those countries was not entirely failure.

The only part I disagree with is that part I highlighted. China is not superior in production. They just can manage to manufacture things cheaper due to the sheer number of workers willing to work for lower wages and longer hours. China isn't exactly a poster child of production superiority at least for now. For that look to US, Germany and Japan.

actually hitler thought having control of russia would mean they won the war which at that time was what he needed plus their factories to build his army because he was fighting wars at all fronts because italy was very useless and they couldn't even defeat even the smallest nations in a fight,when they wanted to go pro allies italy invaded italy
