The choice of Jimi has made the election so easy for APC, koro would have been a better contender. Jimi another Dosumu in the making, Jimi is such a hard market to sell he lacks charisma. I remember how hard we suffered to promote this guy way back, most of his votes came in from Lekki, now with all the bad publicity hitting PDP as a party and the Bode George collar hanging on Jimi's neck and our peoples way of looking at things, APC's '' publicity machinery is one hell of a kind '' am sorry Jimi will not win the election. |

MAYOWAAK: I'd vote a man who'd an excellent career in the public sector and retired on merit, even getting to the pinnacle of his career as a permanent secretary.
Yes, I'll vote a man, who at 21, with a grade A university certificate, had the option of joining some of the best multi-nationals in the country then, but decided to join Lagos state government as a trainee career civil servant.
I'm convinced that a man who became permanent secretary, supervising many agencies and departments under him, while also maintaining robust inter-ministerial engagements with other top civil servants is loaded enough with the material acumen to govern a complex state like Lagos...
I'd definitely prefer such a man to another man whose stint has always been in the private sector where he has never managed up to 20 people under him at a stretch..
The civil service is the bedrock of any government. Getting an ex-civil servant to man such a government will yield excellent results.. I can bet on this...
That aside, the interest of those in public civil service is not for profit maximisation. It's about delivering social capital to the governed..
How will a man coming afresh from the private sector understand the ways and manners of how public servants operate? An ex-insider will be the man to do the job..
My inner man keeps telling me Double A will outperform Governor Fashola in terms of service delivery because of his excellent and indefatigable public service record.. It's about merit, it's about excellence, it's about capacity.
The other guy is good...But Double A definitely has more comparative advantages than him... Get me right... I'm not talking about that corrosive acid whose major priority is to build public toilets for Lagosians! Another Otunba Ghadaffi in the making? I'm talking about the party man who has become a perpetual journey man in search of what is not lost....
This is just for the records... The main campaign is yet to take off... Think Double A first... Eko o ni baje o. Thank you my brother, Ambode is the right man for that position. I've been telling people that only the best is good enough, if I'm to employ between Ambode and others, I will definitely employ Ambode 'cause he is a man of experience. |

baLLoTBOxX: Too late to shed crocodile tears. What did you do when a PDP leader was calling the APC a yoruba amala and ewedu party in anambra? You were seated there urging them on as they ridiculed awolowo. His spirit gave you a taste of disgrace to come when you visited a great university named after him, as the students chanted and called you and your cohorts thieves. Where's our lagos-ibadan expressway? Is it now you want to repair all the junk federal roads in lagos? Oh, you suddenly realised that the votes from SS and SE can't help you retain aso rock so you now. need those of the SW. I thought those 2 regions were the pillar of your government as you proudly announced to the world as if they were the only regions you that got you elected. Even if they were, should a president be making such divisive statements? I was never a tribalist but you woke up my tribal conscience. We are glad tambuwal became the speaker cos we yorubas aren't fools. That seat was a bargain for the huge political relevance we are enjoying today. Who doesn't know that having a yoruba man there via the fraudulent PDP zoning would have favoured you and only you as he would do your bidding just as the senate has been doing? The Mulikat you wanted to install is from my constituency in ogbomosho and I was on ground in 2011 when she came begging to be re-elected as she shared N500 notes to the people and dropped a transformer too weak to carry the load of the neighborhood. Her brake light hasn't been seen since then. That's enough to show you that you would have just empowered an individual yoruba instead of the whole of them. What did patricia etteh and dimeji bankole benefit the yorubas? They only enriched themselves. Your government enriches individuals only. We are not like fools who sing your praises cos you gave their tribes men political posts. What we want are developments. Am glad you failed in installing mulikat cos we would have faced the kind of thuggery the fayose you gave federal backing is delivery to the ekiti people. I hear you are bringing obanikoro for lagos. Bring it on! Why do you associate yourself with thugs, fraudsters, drug barons, militants and looters? Mr president, you disappointed not only the yorubas but also sane nigerians. We voted massively fo r you in 2011, am sorry to say this in tears: you won't have our votes anymore. Omo Olugbon ni mi o swagger''. Ajise bi Oyo la a ri Oyo ki ise bi baba enikan. Kudos brother, this is the mindset of an average Yoruba man. Adaba o nani a nkun igbe, inanjo eye oko nlo, ketekete jona Ku, iso pin. I'm also from Ogbomoso, but my mum is an Awori. Gbawe: @Topic.
I am very proud of the achievements of Lagos. It is times like this that the reality of who is leading well, and who is failing, becomes crystal-clear despite how Nigerians like to play politics of ethnicity and sectional bias. Let oil fall to $10 per barrel. When Nigerians begin to suffer terribly then they will hopefully learn a lesson or two about putting sentiments aside to vote out terrible leaders who maintain ten air-planes,at hideously monumental costs, in a poverty-ridden nation . Let oil sell for 5 dollars, '' i don't care, I love it ''. |

PassingShot: Very good news we have here
A people who have failed to be prudent in times of surplus should not mind suffering the consequences of their financial recklessness in times of shortage.
If one takes a look at what this country has earned from "oyel" in the past decade alone and compare it to where we are, one would have no choice than to conclude that we have missed our golden opportunity to be great.
The careless spending, looting and corruption is done on a scale that makes you wonder if the stuupid leaders ever thought of tomorrow. Unfortunately the "tomorrow" is here with us now and we will suffer as a nation.
We can still get certain things right if we go back to the drawing board and do the needful by making our leaders accountable. And again, unfortunately the so-called youths whom you would expect to do the right things are even worse than the so-called looters of yesteryears. Bro most Nigerians don't even understand economics, the first golden era was between 1970 and 1980, naira was about 78 kobo to a dollar our leader squandered it. The second golden opportunity is of the last 14 years, it was also squandered. When I see Nigerian youths come online to show their stupidity by their lackadaisical approach to the way this country is being mismanaged, only one thing comes to my mind, Nigeria is probably cursed at least this is the way other countries see us. Nigeria the land of poverty, squandering riches since independence, sometimes I regret the exit of our colonial masters, they would have manage this country better than our so called worthless leaders |

1stola: If they like, let them start any war. I'm sure they will all perish and be killed like animals. Gej is a complete bastàrd. My wish for this country is for it to even spilt. Let everyone hold its region and keep its damned resources. Fûck the oil. All they know how to shout is oil oil oil! As if the oil is more precious than the oxygen we breath. Nonsense! I am with you on this, let this country divide if needs be, oil will eventually become worthless, as more and more country discover crude oil deposits, supply will outweighs demand and the price of oil will come crashing like pack of cards just as its currently happening. Winter is gradually setting in, if the price of oil is falling instead of rising as projected by stock market analysts, then oil is going on a long bearish ride which could be a long journey spanning another ten years and may the good lord have mercy on oil dependent economies. Oil price was as low as 27 dollar during the IBB regime, gulf war and the Iraq war, and China were the reasons the price of oil went up, the wars are over, and China had since struck oil in their country. I am for human capacity development, people are the resource of their country not some oil, uranium, gold, silver and diamond. |

Samuel Doe of Liberia, Kamuzu Banda of Malawi and of recent Blaise Campaore of Bokina Faso. What about the King of Babylon Saddam Hussein and the hosts of other despotic rulers, their shameful demise is a pointer to the fact that they are mere mortals. All power belong to God, a first lady of this country was once quoted as saying that '' she will rather be the wife of a late head of state than be a wife of a retired head of state''. Her husband was forcefully retired and heaven did not fall, and cancer killed this pompous first lady, this is Gods way of showing her that all power belongs to him. |

AIT, NTA were taken over even the TV presenters were TAN branded. The Nigerian Football Supporters club were subsumed by TAN, so now that they failed what do you have to tell us because I say you guys are the perfect example of everything wrong with this country.
Seeking to reap where you have not done your proper homework and what is required to succeed. What happened to super eagles today reminds me of what happened to super eagles after that youth earnestly ask for Abacha. TAN failed to realise that the present mood and spirit in the country did not agree with TAN's interference with super eagles. The same luck that won the nations cup was disgraced because the super eagles green and white jersey and their Nigerian spirit had been polluted by their branding. The simple lesson here is that Super eagles belongs to Nigeria, it is not an exclusive property of any individual no matter how highly placed. |

As for your mumu comment, until Lagos beat the fifth biggest state of oil producer in Nigeria which is Abia then I will take you serious
Z I pray you'll be alive to witness the transformation of Lagos to another Doha when the oil money start pumping in. There is a heavy crude oil deposit in Lagos, but the government of those days where not making efforts at searching for it. I remember when I was young, somewhere on Adeshina road at Ijeshatedo area of Lagos, the resident of a particular house woke up to find their well covered with tick black liquid substance which was later discovered to be crude oil, the landlord sealed off that well and did not dig another one, such tales a common around that Ijesh, Aguda and Sanya/ Coker axis.
