barcanista: This is so funny.....
In 1997, some Group were campaigning for Abacha to run for President. He was adopted by virtually all parties and was to contest against Sani Abacha, he died.
In 2005, a Group of chartalans led by el Rufai (I think),Frank Nweke Jnr, Fani Kayode, Musliu Obanikoro, Ibrahim Mantu,Gbenga Daniel, Achike Udenwa, Arthur Nzeribe, Chimaroke Nnamani, James Ibori and their likes of sycophants were advocating for a 3rd Term to accomodate Chief Obasanjo, they failed.
In 2010, a group of Idiots were calling for another term for a sick Yar Adua, they failed-Yar Adua died.
Now, TAN, Goodluck Support Group and other nincompoop are "begging" Jonathan to run with every propaganda, I can assure them that they will fail just like their predecessors.

God bleSs Nigeria
Bros you no remember to add Otunba Abimbola Davies and ABN, ''the association for better Nigeria'' campaigned for IBB to continue in power, one of their members Arthur Nzeribe went to court on the eve of June 12 election to stop the election, in fact the court gave an order that the election should be stopped and this was an excuse used by IBB to annul June 12 election.
Despite all their effort, IBB and his witch of a wife was forced to relocate to his mansion in Minna because people made the country ungovernable for him.
I would have been more interested if the so called TAN members are doing it for their country instead of their belly and private pockets, Jona rora ile n yo.

How many of those who have spoken here are from or even care about the Ogbomosho North/South/Orire constituency 9ice wishes to represent?

Really abhorrent how Nigerian youths lack focus, clarity of thought and the ability to think critically. This is why their leaders pee on them and take them for granted. To get to know and hold their own direct leaders accountable, they will never do. All other frivolity, including insulting those who have nothing to do with them, they have ample time for.

If the above had been labelled:
1. PDP loudmouths would have blocked the media with expository renditions
2. Marilyn Ogar would have played an alluring picture of how the investigation was done
3. Noisy Elrufai would have been reduced to a whimper, prolly hiding to avoid arrest
4. APC's Lai Muhammed would have prepared rejoinders
5. Southern tribal, ethnic groups would have called for their heads. Some call for secession!
6. Keyamo/Falana would suggested the ICC take over
7. Nairalanders would have uncovered their long-forgotten lexical qualification of derogation.
8. Their caricatures would be dps, screen savers and social media BCs
9. Their words would hold no weight
10. Sadly, i'm afraid Hippy CAN Prez will light the match of conflagration

Politics › Re: Why The South West Should Not Vote For Jonathan by 7lives: 3:48pm On Sep 05, 2014
EldaTimba: Let me give u a short analysis why GEJ will pull a strong vote in SW.
GEJ off course ave not performed to par but dat will not stop him.
1. Ekiti: mark my words, PDP will win massively. Ekiti people are known to keep grudges and they will never forget those names APC called them after voting Fayemi out. APC shot themselves on their leg buy insulting Ekiti people. (ONE STATE Gone)
2. Ondo: ondo state will also vote GEJ. Not because of performance but because APC is dead or non existence in Ondo state. APC for ur information has 3 parallel executives in Ondo state. GEJ might not ave 80%+ but he will ave 60+ in Ondo State. (Two state gone)
3. Osun: to me, Osun is the strongest apc state. Ogbeni will deliver the state to APC but PDP will still pull about 35% of the total vote cast which is tangible.
4. Oyo: if Accord works with PDP, due to Ajimobi poor political experience, GEJ will win massively there. I won't speak more on this but accord is growing strong in Oyo state.
5. Ogun: this state will be a 50:50 for both parties. But I don't see amosun returning.
6. Lagos: with the massive population of Ibos and the religion card played by GEJ, he will pull much votes in Lagos. APC can only HAVE MAJORITY vote IF Fashola is fielded as vice president. But dat won't stop GEJ from having 40%+ in Lagos State.

Bottom line: SW don't vote for performance but personality and motivation by political strategist. Why do u think Aketi won his local govt Owo (political capital of Ondo state) with slim margin. If u like, say amala politics is played, but it will still work out.

Shalom.
Oga you better wake up, SW don't appreciate performance?, are you actually discussing SW or another place?.
If this is what you are banking on to get your so called votes in SW then you are on a long thing, Alao Akala, Bankole, Iyabo Obj and host of PDP candidates that lost the 2011 gubernatorial and senatorial election were all voted out and PDP rendered useless by the people of SW for non performance.

Eke40seven: Ferdimako my friend, so you are still working for the Grammar Police. Where have you been? We've been looking for you.
You resigned or were relieved of your duties in the 'German visa and travel' thread.

However, I think the Guy intentionally used the word, 'waste' for 'west' in his write up as a way of mimicking the derogatory expression of the term by some people as he subtly pointed out.
Those easterners are like a giant size generator with a bad shaft, the only thing you'll get is noise.
My brother just returned from this Abia state, he was there for the national youth service orientation programme, in fact we have to do everything within our power to help him re-deploy to ondo state when he begin to narrate the horrible situation of his place of primary assignment.
These are the people that will call SW South West, my brother said it is good to go out round about this country to help us appreciate the little development we have in SW.
My brother said that Abia state is actually in ruins, he said the personal investments of the governor of Abia state according to the people of that state is in Lagos, how wicked can anyone get, that the only achievement of the current governor is global mass transit.
The easterners should leave SW alone and mind their own business, SW is for Yoruba people alone, whichever way we manage it is our business alone, our red roofing sheets, mud huts, and thatched roofs are part of our heritage, it doesn't mean we don't have new homes, they will continue to exist as a reminder of who we are and where we are going.

Instead of discussing the issues highlighted and plaguing our nation some commentators are busy attacking the poster and even more stupidly attacking the news outlets.

The story is not fabricated, this is very real and happened today by all accounts. We have a marauding terrorist group killing your fellow country men in large numbers and sacking towns and you are busy addressing the messenger ? Nigerians can be really strange maybe we prefer to wallow in ignorance and lies. Maybe if you deny reality long enough it might cease to exist. Backwardness and anti-intellectualism is a common trait in Africa. It makes me really sad for my people.
You make me laugh, did you actually believed that people denying this report are ignorant, hello this is Nigeria the country of hypocrites.
They know people are being killed in that place, they are actually doing their best to downplay it 'cause of the bad publicity that's being generated against the government, cold cruel hearts God will judge them and their sponsors.

anti9JA: Shago nbu igo (Pot calling the Kettle black)

Tinubu himself was an Abacha henchman and one of the official speechwriter for Abacha himself. The millions of dollars he (Tinubu) made was used to infiltrate the NADECO, AD and the Awolowo poitcal circles after which destroying it, went back to join his Fulani Arab handlers (Buhari, Atiku, Lai Mohammed etc). That's why he and his handlers will never ever, even pay a courtesy call on Awolowo's wife HID. His paper 'The Nation' is a convenient tool that used to tear apart any Awoist concept.

The devastation and disorientation that Tinubu and his cohorts are doing to the Yoruba psyche is equal to what the Fulani Arab jihad did to the Yoruba nations in the 19th century. Yoruba values like 'OMOLUABI' are subverted and undue materialism is promoted. Can you imagine trillions of dollars investment in Yorubaland are now been controlled by Tinubu who's pedigree is not known anywhere in Yorubaland, this kind of thing has never happened in Yoruba history.

Sometimes I wonder what is it with PDP and negativism, they have this affinity for darkness it this an end time thing or what?.
The Australian also said in this report that there are some element in the government WHO ARE THE RITUAL ARM OF PDP WHO DID NOT WANT THE KILLINGS TO STOP.

cbrass: its you that should go an learn , not me. first of all go and find the true meaning of Ooni and how that name came up..pls dont bring the olofin crap you have been giving me since oo, then i will know if you truly know history but without that am your boss and you must always look up to me grin
Let me help you to understand something that might be of use to you in the future, I hope you will not be disappointed to discovered that Ile ife in those days is viewed as a sacred place because of all the Yoruba idols that were kept in a shrine in Ife and nothing more.
When alafin Aole popularly known as Oba elepe seek to destroy Afonja, he asked Afoja to attack and sack Iwere ile and Ile Ife, Afonja refused to attack Iwere because the Iwere people were very strong at that time, Afonja refused to attack Ife not because Ife had power to defend itself but because Ife is seen in Yoruba land as the spiritual home of the Yorubas, but still the land belongs to the alafin because both Ile Ife and Iwere Ile and all the Yoruba land as far as Benin republic were all under the control of Oyo empire at that period.
Hence the saying ajise bi Oyo laari, Oyo ki i se bi babanla baba enikan, meaning whatsoever is in vogue in Oyo must happen everywhere, everyone is subservient to Oyo, Oyo is subservient to none.
Mind you I am a direct descendant of Olugbon a member of Oyomesi and my mother is from Lagos state, it is engraved in Yoruba history that the one and only king in Yoruba land to dare an Alafin is Olowu of Owu and this is because he sees himself as the FIRST KING IN YORUBA LAND which is actually true, Owu la ko da and infact olowu became a king when he was a baby and this is why Olowu is called asunkun gba ade, olowu of owu, no where in history did we hear of an Ooni daring an Alafin.
Did you know there was once a FEMALE Ooni in ile Ife?, this is where a lot went wrong with Ife, even if this Female Ooni is a direct descendant of Oduduwa, could her husband also be a direct descendant of Oduduwa?, mind you Yoruba practice monarchical systems of government through patrimony, did you actually think the children of this female Ooni will be accorded any special respect if they mount the throne in Ife?, hell no.
Why?, the people knows who their father is and their father is from a different lineage because, the female Ooni is already a descendant of Oduduwa, so the husband cannot be a son of Oduduwa Yorubas don't marry their relatives incest is not in our tradition.
This is what happened to the position of Ooni and this is what the first class obas in Oyo Osun axis knows that most Nigerians don't know, they are simply saying oko kii je ti baba, t'omo, ko ma laa ala. meaning we may be the same but there is a slight difference.
