gsparks01: thanks man, so you advise not to buy from China?
If you're only powering resistive low power devices like Light bulbs, PCs, Laptops, TVs, Home threatre, e.t.c go for china products.
If you intend to power high power resistive and inductive loads like AirCon, Fans, Electric kettles, Room heaters e.t.c go for US/EU
Ensure you buy pure sine wave inverters or modified sine wave inverters in a worst case scenario wether you are buying from china, US or EU markets.
Peace.

gsparks01: Please I need somebody who knows much about inverters to share what he/she knows, and if I can get from the Chinese markets
Inverters come in different capacities(VA) and are used for converting DC(Batteries preferable dry cell or Gel)voltages to AC voltage. Before you buy for Nigerian market, make sure the output voltage is 220volts, frequency 50Hz, Modified or Pure sine wave output and that it has an inbuilt battery charger.
Chinese inverter are made with high frequency transformers or what Nigerians call Chopper transformers. The have very high conversion efficiency, cheap and affordable but output power is usually LOW compare to American or European inverters that are build with standard power or magnetic/ferrate core transformers. They output high power, rugged, expensive to buy and have conversion efficiency of at most 90percent.

mercylicious: For newbies, beware of illiquid stocks. The price maybe rising but getting a buyer maybe a big issue and b4 u know it, the price reverts car park and the profit becomes paper profit. Sum of them, u can't even sell them even at 50k. I still have over 1m units of ftncocoa trapped in my portfolio.Am waiting for the new bull era to dump on the next mugu.

B4 u buy, check the daily vols traded for a week or a month to be sure u can jump out wen u want. Or invest small amt of money in it dt u can be able to offload at the right time, or convert to long term.
No be only you ooooohhhhh
I get 200K units of UnionHomes, 200K units of BecoPet, and 150K units of DaarCom for my longest tie portfolio. Na these yeye stocks I use welcome myself into the NSE in 2008.
I don find buyers tire for those stocks since then but I no see. I just simply moved them into my longest time portfolio for my grand grand children. grin
The current newbies into the NSE dey lucky well well as dem dey learn from our past mistakes.

padolife: Team,

From what I have read so far and from experience, it seems the best banks to do TB are:

FirstBank
Zenith Bank
Keystone Bank
Sterling Bank (My investment is here and it never fails, automatic rollover)

And the worst is
GTBank

Does anybody have additions or subtraction to the list, kindly add it. this will help our people invest in the right bank.

Promhize: Not trying to spoil business, but you taking pple for a ride, $75-$80 to ship a laptop is outrageous to say the least.

I don't blame the people here, they are ill-informed, someone on another thread bought a laptop and microscope, and it was delivered to him outside lagos for just 3K (about $18 or so).

My people you got to do research, just go to google and search Nigerian shipping companies, they are plenty with cheaper costs.

If you need info on super deals like the one in the picture, pm me for details. This is no scam and pls don't waste my time if u are not serious. This is not a chinese product nor is it from aliexpress neither dhgate, this is from a genuine US online store.
PEACE!
Spill it here or open your own thread with detailed info and links or forever remain quiet and hold your peace.
Happy Importing.

ucheson2: NESTLE IS STILL VERY CHEAP AT 1000s.
Come with me as I prove it using using what I call 'comparison formula(cf)'. I actually derived it using the inverse of the formula for dividend yield(dy).
In case u dont know, dy = dividend(d)/share price(sp).

Therefore inverse dy or 1/dy = sp/d.
Cf = (sp/d)x full yr dividend of the company in question(nestle). I hope u r followiny?

Using this formula we r goin 2 compare the ave sp of those 3 stock in thesame sector with that of nestle.

1. Cadbury sp = N58.90K, D = 50K, 1/DY = 58.90/0.5 = 118.
0
2. Flourmill sp = N83.06K, D = N1.60K/2(paid 2012 i.e 2 yrs), 1/dy = 83.06/0.8 = 108.

3. NNFM SP = N24.37K, D = 90K/3 (Paid 2011 ie 3yrs), 1/dy = 24.37/0.3 = 81.

Ave 1/dy = (118+108+81)/3 = 102.

Therefore the fair price of nestle = 102x20 = 2040. Hint the fyd of nestle was N20.

Now going by the calibre of company nestle is, it should be selling at far above its far price. If I am to fix, I will fix it somewhere between N5,000 and N10,000.
Comparing Apples to Mangoes, Oranges, Pineapple does not make good business sense.
Fair price of 2040 for Nestle!!huh
