God I can’t wait for Buhari to leave office. He knows who ever succeeds him would not greenlight such ridiculous project, so he’s rushing quickly to do this before he leaves office. |
Well done Akwa Ibom. It seems like it’s the most peaceful state in the country right now. |
Christistruth00:It’s easy to mislabel all of Ogun west as Egbado or Awori. Ipokia is mainly Anago which is continuous with those in Benin Republic. Ipokia is unique because it’s one of the few parts of SW, where many people have family ties to yorubas in Benin republic. Although those in Ipokia are commonly mistaken for egbado, both are distinct groups despite many similarities. |
dollynnn:Please what’s the difference between APC and PDP because they are both failures as far as I’m concerned. |
Iyaebe:Tinubu said he will recruit the youth in the army and feed them cassava instead of providing quality jobs. ![]() But yes out of the 200 million people we have in Nigeria, ONLY Tinubu can fix this mess. |
Bigchristo:You are a proud christian who supports the annihilation of another nation because it makes the US look weak. There is no moral dilemma here. 1.) I also hate US imperialism and hegemony. 2.) I hate imperialism in general because it hurts weaker countries, so I have to also hate Russian imperialism. 3.) I don’t support Russia invading And bombing Ukraine. It’s not that hard to be against all three as a decent person. |
The political elites have ignored terrorism and insecurity for so long because it mostly affects poor farmers in the village. Maybe they will start to take notice when it affects them personally. |
It takes a tragedy to implement a surveillance system. As usual, no foresight from the government to do this before until things get bad. |
TheOgaBoss:Actually he agreed to not joining NATO back in February during the end of the pre-invasion talks, but Russia invaded anyway because they never intended to respect Ukrainian borders. NATO was just an excuse because Putin didn't recognized their sovereignty in 2014 when they invaded and annexed two states in the country. In 2014, Ukraine was not bidding to join NATO. The talks of Ukraine joining NATO only became realized once again because after Russia has already invaded. Putin just wants Ukraine to unite with Russia because of shared cultural history and economic importance. |
Nukilia:We have to be honest with ourselves. If Russia were to invade Nigeria, GEJ and Buhari would fold their arms and let Russia take over and then they would be promptly exiled to Seychelles if not executed. PDP and APC have ran this country since 1999 and they are both trash. How pathetic was GEJ when he ran to America to beg Obama to help "fix Africa." I watched that interview with Obama and immediately realized that he was an embarrassment as a president. Then Buhari who campaigned on attacking corruption came along and worsened corruption, tribalism and cronyism in the country. |
9182736455O1999:I'm starting to see from NL that the 50% that support the invasion of another sovereign country is why Nigeria is not progressing. They say Zelensky is too young and was a comedian before running for office and that makes him a bad leader. No logic whatsoever. These are the same people who would rather elect a corrupt politician of 40 years that will steal their money rather than an activist who uses their comedic platform to criticize corruption in the government. Do you see why it will take a long time for Nigeria to progress with mindsets of people like this. It's not just the government, it's the people that elect, support and campaign for bad government. |
Officialgarri:People like you who justify police brutality when it suits them is why the police will continue to beat and abuse people forever. With that response, I won't be surprised if you are a domestic abuser. |
One reason why Nigeria is a failed democracy or rather why APC and PDP are two of the same parcels if members can switch allegiance so easily. But people will swear to their core that APC and PDP are so different. |
Malory:It's not just Indonesia. There are so many xenophobic and racist countries that Nigerians should avoid going to. But desperation of people in wanting to leave the country outweighs reasoning and rationale sometimes. |
bizzibodi:Lol what brand is going to pay for second grade snake skin from the street? Maybe they can sell it at a local market. But that's not a money spinner lol. |
VEHINTOLAR:True, but we've decimated our natural environments though. Most of our rainforests are gone due to lack of conservation. Cross River is the only state in Nigeria which still has most of its primary rainforest intact. Nigeria used to have thriving safari ecosystems full of elephants, lions, giraffes, cheetahs etc, but most of the animals are hunted to extinction or near for quick profit and meat consumption. Most of our beaches and rivers are polluted with rubbish and hydrocarbons. Other countries like Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa recognize that long term investment in their natural environment generates tourism and jobs. Poor rural communities in those countries are educated about sustainability and live in accordance with nature, whereas most Nigerians are averse to nature. |
ghettochild:Lack safety protocols at every step of the way. The roads are also bad creating high likelihood of accidents and fire. Not to mention all the desperate people who collect leaking fuel creating a nightmare scenario in which tankers can explode and scores of people are killed. |
Savagery in full display. I weep for this country. |
NGArmyTerrorist:I agree with the guy. What separates the rest of the world from Nigeria is that we never take accountability for their own internal issues. We hate each other and we are too divided to realize we are the architect of our own suffering. Instead, we will rather run away from our problems, but those problems will remain. I will always encourage people to go elsewhere legally if you get the chance. The paradox is that when common Nigerians do go outside of the country, you begin to see why the country is the way it is. However, you realize you as an individual can't make a difference because people are stuck in perpetual darkness that makes them blind to their reality. |
MansoryMX:Watch out for Putin fanboys on NL who are saying Zelensky brought the invasion on his country. And don't forget those praising Putin as a strong leader because he's fighting America. |
tonididdy:Exactly! You don't look shit up yet you are here making dumb uninformed claims with confidence. |
tonididdy:Nigerians always speak on issues you know nothing of. Ukrainians fight back against Russian aggression not because everyone wants to die a hero (what a ridiculous take ). They are fighting against the Russian invasion because they have lived under Russian imperialism for decades and many still remember the suffering they endured. Russian imperialism attempted to wipe their national identity including suppressing their language. Look up "holodomar", which was a famine in the 1930s caused by Soviet era policy that resulted in the deaths of millions of Ukrainians. This is why it's no surprise that 92% of Ukrainians voted to be independent from Russia after the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. Nigeria is a country that has only exist in the last 100 years comprised of multitude of ethnicities who despise one another. This is why you will never understand why Ukrainians are so reluctant to live under Russian imperialism. FYI Zelensky the young COMEDIAN is better than an average old Nigerian politician. If a foreign power invades Nigeria tomorrow, Buhari and government officials will be seeking refuge in Britain the next day leaving the fate of their people at the hands of outside entities. Meanwhile you have government officials in Ukraine fighting on ground with common people. |
baralatie:1. Ukraine used to have nuclear weapons. Russia (yes that same Russia) and the USA signed the 1994 Budapest memorandum in which they both guaranteed to protect the sovereignty of Ukraine if Ukraine hands over its nuclear weapons. 2. I don't think you understand how nuclear warfare works. Why would USA attack Russia unprovoked with nuclear weapons when nuclear fallout will also hurt neighboring European countries including its Nato allies?? |
elijahkayode:So, what if he's a comedian? And that comedian won 73% of the votes in 2019 election. I know in Nigeria, the word comedian is associated with joker and not someone serious like an average corrupt career politician. I also know that it's hard for you to wrap your mind around the fact that in other countries, high-ranking comedians win the heart of the people by speaking truth to power and effecting political changes. |
Mftivi:And why won't he fight the rebels in Donbass when the rebels were expanding their territory into government held areas. People like act as if Donbass is an ethnic Russian enclave which it's not. Yes, most people in Donbass speak Russian as a first language. However, Ukranians are still the majority in Donbass and the Russians are a minority. The Russian-speaking Ukranians are a result of suppression of the Ukrainian language in schools and in public under decades of Russian and Soviet rule. Almost all of the people that I see on NL that are pro-russian don't have a basic understanding of the historical context of the region. The basis of their narrow-minded thinking is: "Ukraine is bad because they are supported by the west which is also bad." OR "Russia is good because Putin (the dictator who kills and oppresses dissidents) is a strong leader." |
DoggoneDogg:That's a lie and it seems like you have fallen to Russia propaganda. Zelensky won 73% of the votes and part of the reason he was popular with the people was because he was a comedian who spoke against corruption. |
SarkinYarki:Do you hear yourself? You have all the criticisms for the leader of Ukraine while praising the man invading a sovereign nation? For God's sake why do so many Nigerians love dictators? It seems that years under oppressive governments have made people fall victim to Stockholm syndrome. |
Princewill1:Please tell me how he is plunging his country into a war with Russia, when Russia was the country that invaded his country? That's like Cameroon invading Nigeria and you say it's the fault of Nigeria. Let's keep in mind this is not the first time that same Russia (the aggressor) invaded Ukraine in 2014 when they annexed part of their territory and began funding rebels in the east of the country. So if you were a leader of an independent sovereign country, you will bend over to another nation's demands in the hopes they stop invading, even though their track record has suggested otherwise?? |
KUNZEH:And that comedian displays better leadership than most African presidents. A dense individual like you would chose a corrupt career politician over a competent comedian who speaks truth to power. Change your mindset. |
tillaman:So you blame the country being invaded and not the invader for the killings. |
HitSong:What is the name of the written agreement sir?? I’ll wait because I know for a fact that such thing doesn’t exist. In fact the only agreement that is violated here is the Budapest memorandum in which Russia and USA promised to safeguard Ukrane’s sovereignty in exchange for giving up its nuclear weapons. |
