His main interest in running for president is to advance his business interests. It's a selfish campaign. If Tinubu becomes president, we will all watch as his wealth and assets grow, while common people continue to suffer. |
Arry110:The irony is we carry religion for head. The same people that say they are religious have no problem normalizing or participating in tribalism, deceit, prostitution, wickedness, corruption, scamming and bribery. With all the megachurches, you would think we would have solved all our problems by now. |
Asquare84:You are the one who is not smart in this equation. You see a critically endangered species and your first thought is pepper soup? Tell me how many forest elephants are left in the South? We have no culture of conservation of nature and sooner or later we are going to reap what we sowed. |
People need to understand APC and PDP are two sides of the same coin which is why their members defect like spineless goats. |
The amount of cavemen on this thread is appalling. |
freethenippu:Since when are Ijebus hated? Yes, there are stereotypes that each Yoruba group has about the other and that's about it. I find it funny that Igbos on NL love to latch on to the myth that Ijebus are not Yoruba, but somehow Awolowo, a son of Ijebu-Remo is all of a sudden Yoruba since it fits your agenda. Besides 300 years old is a more precise dating to their stuffEredo fortress walls of Ijebuland was constructed starting 800 AD. In the late 1400s, The Portuguese came across Ijebu kingdom. How exactly are those dates 300 years old? Same with the lagos which was founded by the edosI won't even entertain this. Go to isale eko and tell them they are not Yoruba. Besides, just recently someone in anambra just found some igbo artifacts. Most of our artifacts are discovered accidentally unlike the yoruba exvacations, meaning there are still more.Actually most archeological discoveries in Western Nigeria are discovered by accident including the famous Ife bronzes. The Ife Head was found by accident in 1938 at the Wunmonije Compound, Ife, during house-building works amongst sixteen other brass and copper heads and the upper half of a brass figure. in addition, Reason why our cities appear modern is because of our brain.Igbos love to call Yoruba dirty, yet the city that takes the title of the most polluted city in the world in 2016 is Onitsha. Even with all that brain, people can't stop from littering or polluting the air. China which harbours one of the oldest civilizations has super modern cities.Should we really be comparing China, the second largest economy to anywhere in Nigeria? Your analogy would be valid if the most modern parts of SE also look anywhere near the modern parts of China. You act as if Ibadan is just an old city. Ibadan has grown beyond its old core. The combined area of Jericho and Oluyole, two more modern areas of Ibadan is half the size of Onitsha alone. And that's if we are assuming that all of Onitsha is modern, which is not. Without including the outlying areas, Ibadan metropolis is about than 7 times the size of Onitsha, so all the modern areas of ibadan is larger than the entire city of Onitsha. |
Ishilove:It's carried by rodent vectors as well. Grasscutters are classified as rodents. ![]() |
freethenippu:Ibadan is an old city, but not one of the ancient Yoruba cities. Ibadan only gets that label because it was the largest precolonial Nigerian city, so most of the buildings in Old Ibadan are more than 100 years old. Most modern day Igbo cities can be categorized as small villages 150 years ago, so they appear more modern. While I agree that some Yorubas erroneous label Ibadan as ancient, there are far older cities in Yorubaland and there is always archeological evidence dug from the ground to back it up. Ijebu ode and Lagos are far older than Ibadan and there is archeological evidence that are 500-1200 years old to back it up. If Awka is as old as you claim (8th century), you will provide visual evidence from 8th century from Awka specifically to back that up. |
Nigerian government and technology is like oil and water. |
OneTemplate:Sorry to disappoint you for stating the obvious. Pandering is cheap when you don't have a good track record to back it up. In essence, he lacks integrity to stand on, so he has to resort to pandering to earn cheap votes. I want what's best for Nigeria, but Tinubu is not it. He's just another corrupt elitist with name recognition who just wants to put the presidency on his resume. Also I laugh at the bolded. What ideas does Tinubu have for transforming Nigeria? |
Southern Kaduna needs its own state. El Rufai is clearly biased towards his own people just like Buhari. |
Tyranny:He's a tool, a useful one at that. If you can see right through him and see that he's just pandering to gain votes, then you are myopic to the reality. |
Edusouls:So you are the kind of person to beat your spouse with kpondo when she rejects sex? Men like you who share this mentality belong in the Stone Age. |
Most Nigerians won't rally behind a third party candidate. They would just vote for APC or PDP, which means nothing will change. |
BKayy:After you are done gathering your hay, maybe you can toss it at them and see if that works. |
BKayy:Look at this fool wagging his finger. You think you are immune? |
chatinent:It's not broken glass. Some of the windows in glass buildings are designed to open like that. |
Ceenaija:The shameless jagaban transporting cash in bullion vans is the best Yoruba people have to offer? How is corrupt Tinubu going to help ordinary people? He is running for his own personal agenda. |
There is no need to fight. The SS and SE governors should also give their demands. There needs to be a new constitution. |
Tinubu is one of the most corrupt people in this country. |
thebosstrevor1:It's funny you think one region hoarding power is a good thing for a FEDERAL COUNTRY. You do realize that monopolizing power breeds separatism, which in the long run will not help the North since the monopoly could lead to the secession of disgruntled regions you are so proud to malign. Most of the country's vital economic infrastructure is in the South. When the dust settles and Northern politicians lose control of their source of corrupt wealth, they will have to themselves all of the VASTNESS of Northern Nigeria, an economic-lagging, populous, underdeveloped, LANDLOCKED country overran by Jihadists with a large illiterate populous that can only compete with the likes of Chad and Niger. I only pity the people who will have to deal with high cost of import goods and high price of oil. Extra notes: 1. Chad and Niger are so poor compared to Nigeria, that even the money their corrupt politicians make is like minimum wage to an average Nigerian politician. 2. Also you said Southerners think the North is dumb, but you rebutted that by saying that the politicians are smart? So are you saying the people are dumb but the politicians are smart? |
Tinubuadvocate:That's exactly what I'm saying! How do you read, write and sign government documents when you are illiterate? We've had too many incompetent people running for office or appointed to position of power with zero qualifications. |
appishani1:I don't hate Hausa people, but let those brilliant Hausa people be in government instead of these incoherent politicians. I don't support incompetency in government no matter what tribe it comes from. This is a critique of how political appointment is done. It is often not based on merits or qualifications, but rather nepotism, friendship, wealth and tribalism. |
Tinubuadvocate:See your point would be valid if Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba are the languages of instruction at universities in Nigeria or if those languages have official status. Not being able to read the English language in Nigeria means that you are regarded as functionally illiterate and not remotely competent to run for public office. |
I bet it's the same kidnappers that kidnapped the students a few days ago seeing it's the same local government area . The banditry and kidnapping will continue since they don't have any incentive to stop. Banditry is a profitable business with this failing government that is so disconnected from the reality. El Rufai is an utter failure. |
Why do they like to name PUBLIC projects financed with PUBLIC funds after themselves. Unless, it's a private school funded with your own money, you don't get to plaster your name on it. |
wisestman:Exactly. They love to cling onto power until their last breath. That's why the old crooks never retire and let people rest, they just repackage themselves and run for senator or minister. And calling them leaders is being polite, they are crooks or simply politicians. A leader without conscience, empathy or competence is no leader. Neither is a so called honourable individual without honour. |
JoeEeL:The Songhai empire was ruled by the Songhais not Fulanis, even if they were overlords of the Fulanis. Unlike the Sokoto caliphate, the Songhai empire was FAR more tolerant to non-muslims and the founder of Songhai, Sunni Ali was tolerant to both muslims on non-muslims. Unlike the Sokoto caliphate which came much later, the Songhai did not go around executing local kings of other tribes and supplanting their own to rule over. They allowed their vassal states to keep their local rulers. The situation in Nigeria and the rift between Christians and Muslims is largely a direct result of the Fulani Jihad of 19th century and the Sokoto caliphate not the Songhai. |
Because you want escape poverty, you will go slave it out in Libya, a country currently in civil war and plagued by terrorists. |
It's always show of force at unarmed protests and show of cowardice to armed bandits. |
macof:Sometimes I wonder too. We also dulled by the daily abuse of our own government and police that we think the abuse is normal. |
jchioma:He doesn't even get to serve all those years. He only serves 15 years since according to Minnesota Law, you serve 2/3 of your sentence. Also he could be released under supervision in 7.5 years. And there are people serving decades for drug charges. |
