He taught he was going to receive praises for turning a monkey into pepper soup, but instead got blasted left and right. The species name is mona monkey and they are relatively abundant, but it still does not excuse the behavior. If China has taught us a lesson, it's that not all living things are made for human consumption. Monkeys are our genetic cousin and they also carry much of the diseases that plague us. If people didn't eat chimpanzees in Cameroon, the HIV virus won't have had the chance to jump from apes onto humans. |
preciousademc3:You are brainwashed to think physical characteristics that make someone black is bad. Why would God create dada if it's evil as you put it? The spiritual attachment made to dada was made by people not the other way around. It's just hair. |
DuwaRepublic:On the contrary I have never met a Yoruba person from Kwara State that has denied to be Yoruba. It's on Nairaland where I see display of ignorance from certain people from the SW who have never stepped foot in Kwara State and fallen for Ipob propaganda. |
Nwanyiogwashi:I guess Asaba is no longer Igboland because it's in South South. |

I'm glad people are seeing China for what it is. China is slowly entrapping Nigeria and many African countries that borrow money in deep debt. The more Buhari borrows, the more he continues to sell the future of Nigeria. China is keen on exploiting African resources and debt entrapment is a great way for them to do this. China is becoming the new imperial force and they are exploiting the weak regulations in many African countries. Their factories and mines in Africa are dumping hazardous waste with little accountability. The recent case of illegal in Osun state is a prime example of this. They are causing massive deforestation due to their demand for African hardwood. They are behind much of the poaching and extinction of wild animals due to ivory and parts for their traditional medicine. On top of that, they mistreat black people, even on the African soil. Recently, a Chinese factory in Ogun State locked their workers in the factory for 14 days. To avoid blame, they are even making propaganda that Africans in China are spreading the coronavirus to Chinese people, even though it started in China. If you have black skin in China, be prepared to be called derogatory terms like 黑鬼 (Hēi guǐ) which literally translates to black demon. About a month ago, the Chinese government in Guangdong just decided to kick Nigerians and other African migrants from their homes onto the streets, seized their passports and issued orders for businesses to deny Africans entry to restaurants and public places. China is a racist society where your worth, value and achievement in society is determined by how close to white you are. Black people are pretty much at the bottom. |
Bitchiamjay:All thieves are thieves in my eyes and the crimes of one thief does not absolve the crimes of another. She is giving the you crumbs of a stolen cake and you are shouting she's a savior. This is how Nigerians will continue to get used and dumped, because of gullible masses like you. |
It's good that she's returning some of the money she stole because let's face is she is a thief who have stole billions of Naira. But poor hungry people will see this as an act of kindness. |
pazienza:You contradicted yourself with the bolded, because I recalled you saying this earlier: Look, Aba is an Igbo city from its foundation till 2020 as we speak, but its only an Igbo city because the indigenous tribe there, the NGWA , are proud Igbos as of this very moment. Therefore thanks to NGWA being a part of Igbo nation, an Nsukka man can comfortably call Aba his City, since his Nsukka tribe is Igbo just like Ngwa. |
Fasindo:Let's get some facts straight. 1. Why should legal minors with no guardians be roaming across state boundaries by themselves? Where is that normal? Ask yourself. 2. They are children, thus their parents who neglected them in the first place should be held accountable for their care. It should not be the burden of SW governments. 3. They should be quarantined at home in Sokoto with their parents not out in the public. It's a public safety measure. 4. When Northern states were sending them to their respective states, it was no problem. As soon as SW governors do it, you want to start dragging tribe and politics. Save you empty threats with no substance. |
Meanwhile China is busy stripping the Nigerians living in their country of dignity just because they are black. Many Nigerians are sleeping on the streets in China following a rise in racist anti-African sentiments. Nigerians are being kicked out of their homes by the police after paying rents and banned from public places like restaurants and hotels. Not to mention the seizure of passports of African immigrants, targeted police harassment and forceful quarantining people of African origin in an attempt to pin the upsurge in new coronavirus on Africans. As we speak, China is running their communist propaganda trying to make Africa the new face of coronavirus and this foolish government is bringing Chinese doctors when we have many doctors in Nigeria who are underpaid and undervalued not to mention newly grads who are unemployed. This is what happens when you borrow money from China. You become their subservient puppet while they treat your citizens like crap. Exactly what has been gained from all the trillions of naira borrowed and the low quality substandard Chinese projects in Nigeria? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTpm5T-4-hI |
RuudVanNisteroy:Nigerians have been complaining since time immemorial about poor infrastructure and corrupt governance which means simply complaining is not enough. In countries like Canada, if a political goes as far as steal one kobo, the people will go out in droves and demand the resignation of that politician. This active participation from the people will never occur in Nigeria over something like that. A nation is in-part a reflection of its people and the ills of a nation is due in-part to the complicit nature of the people's character. Many Nigerians are thief-enablers and are too divided on sectarian and tribal politics to see the bigger picture. The day Nigerians stand united and reject APC and PDP, and elect people who are motivated to serve the average Nigerian interests; that is the day Nigeria will truly be free. |
Galactico4ever:Employment opportunity for already wealthy 427 elites. I smell corruption loading. |
These kinds of threads are just excuses to have unnecessary tribal war. Tell me what concerns an average Nigerian in Nigeria about an appointment in America when it has no effect on your life. |
9jaRealist:You are exactly correct. On one hand, Nigerians don't pay taxes and on the other hand how are people supposed to trust the government with their taxes if they are corrupt. It's a viscous cycle that doesn't end. |
cucumbae:There is corruption in America too, but if the level of blatant corruption in Nigeria were to occur in America, you will see millions march in massive protests in the millions, demands and boycotts. Politicians will continue to steal because the masses let them get away with it each time. The truth remains that Nigerians are very docile and want an easy way out. God will not come down and fight your battles for you if you are sitting on the sidelines waiting for a miracle. |
Explorers:This is exactly how it should be. The military is supposed to SERVE the civilians not TERRORIZE, unfortunately in Nigeria the latter is the case. People need to open their eyes and wake up. |
Nowenuse:No, you are good. Your estimates make sense. A few Notes about Ilorin: The reason why the older areas in the NW core of Ilorin have more mosques compared to the churches in the periphery areas in the East and South has to do with the restriction of early missionaries in the old quarters where Ilorin indigines were concentrated. The first Christian missionaries and churches set up in the those areas and introduced Christianity along with western education. Christianity as a percentage has been growing slowly as Ilorin expands beyond its historical quarters. I still think it's more islamic, but I wouldn't be shocked if has 40% Christians. Igbominaland is actually quite extensive from Share near Nupe to Ila in Osun state, so religious distribution is not quite even. Ilorin has spilled over to Igbominaland especially in Ifelodun as you have fusion with many satelite towns like Ganmo and Amoyo. It's hard to guess, but of the 4 Igbomina LGAs in Kwara, I would say Ilorin East and Ifelodun have slightly more muslims. Isin and Irepodun have christian majority as well as the Ekiti areas (Oke Ero and Ekiti lgas). The 2 most populous Igbomina towns are Ila in Osun and Omu aran in Kwara and both of these are christian majority. Offa and Ikirun are both Ibolo btw, but Offa and Oyun should be 50-50 within margins of error. |
ibksiv:Unfortunately that same Europe and America have left Nigeria behind even with all the enlightenment we claim to have. For all that religion, what do we have to show for it except corruption, death and destruction? Many religious figures act as if they are untouchable. It's simply pride and arrogance which endangers the public further. |
GamalNasser:This is clearly misinformation. Our hospitals are not overrun yet unlike in Italy or the US. In Italy, doctors have to chose who gets safe and who to let die. Nigeria hasn't reached this point so far and I hope it doesn't get to this, but people shouldn't be desensitized on how deadly this virus is either. |
kolaaderin:I don't usually comment too much on religion posts, but I'm going to address some stuff. Offa is not walkable distance to Ikirun as the two towns while close are separated at least by 30 mins by road. It seems like you don't have a great knowledge on the places you claim to know. Albeit his statistics about Ilorin being 50/50 is wrong, you are also wrong about Offa and Ikirun. If that was the case, it would put both towns on par with Ilorin. For such a repuation that Ilorin gets, it has a significant christian population. I suspect the reason why it gets that reputation is due to a larger presence of ultraconservative muslims compared to the SW. People also forget it's a university city home to Unilorin, one of the largest in Nigeria and not discounting its state capital status. |
idealogical:Yes! And the government should do their part in providing financial support so that people unable to earn a living don't starve to death. |
JamParkMe:Who told you that? Coronavirus is different from the common cold. Yes it's true that high humidity can cause the virus to hang in the air for lesser duration of time, but it doesn't kill the virus and the virus can still fall on surfaces. The reason why New York metro is the epicenter is because it's highly densely populated and is the largest domestic and international transport hub in the US. Warm weather didn't stop Indonesia, a country on the equator from recording a spike in cases. It now has over 1,000 cases and growing with almost 10% fatality. The situation is more dire in Nigeria, because it's a country without an adequate health care system and with very little social programs due to corruption and negligence. We don't even have up to 500 ventilators for 200 million people. Many people still have to put food on the table and pay bills. How can they afford to self quarantine or isolate when they have to earn a living? Unless the government issue more measures, suspend utilities bills and provide some financial assistance, this situation can get worse. |
The UK NHS has 5,900 ventilators for its 67 million inhabitants and they are struggling to cope while Nigeria has less than 500 ventilators for 200 million people. |
And when you were governor of Lagos, why didn't you make the healthcare system in Lagos to be world standard? I'm glad you can't travel abroad for treatment and you and the rest of the politicians have to use the dilapidated crumbling healthcare system you left for common Nigerians. Even countries with far superior healthcare systems like the US, Italy and the UK are struggling to cope in the crisis, so in no way is Nigeria equipped to handle a crisis of this capacity. I just pray the number of cases doesn't get out of hand that our healthcare system would have to bear the brunt of it. Hopefully, the government can learn from this and develop the healthcare infrastructure, pay doctors and provide affordable healthcare for its citizens. There could be more future pandemics. |
He probably thinks he's white with his botched bleached face and permed hair. I swear Africans are the most brainwashed people in the world with the lowest self-esteem and Nigerians top the charts. Many of these 419 pastors operate a business depended on revenue from the offerings of their mumu congregation which is now being threatened by COVID-19. |
Lack of education is a disease plaguing Nigeria. This is why we no longer have wildlife like giraffes or rhinoceros left in Nigeria. Not to mention many viral diseases like coronavirus, lassa, HIV and ebola originally had animal hosts before making the jump onto humans. |
masseratti:It depends on which statistics you look at. The one I looked at showed that Yoruba is the second largest ethnic group at 18% after Fon at 39%. The percentage for Fon is never referring to Fon as a standalone group. The Fon percentage also includes all the closely related people like Gun(Egun), Weme, Mahi and Agbome. |
AJ is not 100% familiar with Nigerian political dynamics or even Yoruba culture at that. He grew up in the UK and does not understand the proper interethnic etiquettes of Nigeria. The traditional forms of greeting is only highly regarded among Yorubas. A common handshake would have sufficed. |
The question is when will Nigerians hold their leaders accountable? If Nigerians march on to the streets by the millions demanding specific reforms and deadlines, organize a nationwide strike, surround Also Rock, start thinking of both APC and PDP as common trash and rally behind a popular candidate who is not corrupted by the politics. It may seems like much, but all of what I'm saying happen in places with democracy and constant electricity. This is the kind of work that it's going to take. But as long as people are willing to stay silent, ignorant and divided; things might not change even in 400 years. |
Not a single tree in sight. |
