Coldie: Good graduates should be able to create jobs, and good graduate should not an employer is there a difference.
Creation of jobs sometimes is not the problem funds is the problem Yes of course, there’s a difference... First, NOT every graduate is a good graduate. Further, the operative phrase is “should be able to” (not ‘should’)... Thus, what a good graduate elects to do with her capacity is her prerogative. Meanwhile, let’s not drift away from the corpus of the discussion... The more good graduates Nigeria produces, the more likely they will create jobs! > |

Entrepreneurship is more of an instinct than a talent... But whichever it is, it blossoms with opportunities and development. Any properly-educated person can see multiple opportunities... Whether they choose to pursue same or any at all is an individual choice. > |

You know ASUU is right on this, but you have chosen to see things only from the FG's perspective! Normally, not a fan of Bubu’s government... But only folks who have something to hide would seek to avoid IPPIS.IPPIS is merely a biometric payment system... It does NOT affect autonomy, or the so-called Triple Helix Linkage (big words from folks who cannot track their alumni). Nonetheless, nonsensical that folks who keep running to government for funds are blabbing about autonomy... If the universities do not depend on government for their very existence, they couldn’t be compelled into the IPPIS system. > |

Either fees are raised, or a loan needs be taken again. Money is not the answer to every problem... What have the universities done with the little money they have to give anyone confidence they will do better with more? > |

You guys have something crawling in your heads Diversionary Strawman’s Argument, but nonetheless since you raised it... Buhari’s cluelessness DIRECTLY prolonged the recession that DIRECTLY led to the Naira’s massive devaluation... Which devaluation DIRECTLY eroded Dangote’s net worth. Mftivi: it doesn't benefit average Nigerian in any way. FG Bonds rate is unattractive now so it's just common sense that investors would shift towards equities, it adds nothing to the common man. FDI (foreign direct Investment) have been nose diving since this administration took over and FDI can affect the average Nigerian but in this case negatively. It does... If an "average" worker's retirement (or other mutual) fund is invested in equities. Further, the value of a company's stock affects its valuation (and balance sheet, if it holds treasury shares)... Which means appreciation may enable it to borrow to invest/expand, and create jobs for the "average" Nigerian! > |

banio: Two per State isn't bad. Medicine usually have to graduate not more than a certain number of doctors per year, guess 60 to 70 doctors. This is based on lecturers available and other facilities.
However, are all states represented. The answer is No. Thus ABU should be able to do it's maths and come up with a good admission format.
All in all, it's not easy. Nigeria needs as many doctors as it can get... Admitting only 2 per state ON MERIT (others on opaque grounds) is a SCANDAL! > |

Focusmind: I can bet you that I pay more taxes than some of these Nigerian millionaires and billionaires. Getting them to pay their fair share of tax is always a problem. That's why the poor are not feeling the impact of these so called millionaires and billionaires.
In advanced countries, taxes from all these millionaires are used to support the poor and provide public goods. Many billionaires in advanced countries barely pay any taxes... Certainly NOT what would ordinarily be considered their "fair share" (Warren Buffet ponders why he pays a lesser rate than his secretary). Despite better tax administration (not necessarily better citizenship) in the West... Most wealthy folks use a variety of methods to avoid taxes, and wealthy companies (Google, Facebook, Starbucks, etc) hardly pay any taxes. Meanwhile, EVERY Western taxpayer (not just the wealthy) support public services and the poor... Conversely, EVERY Nigerian (not just the wealthy), outside of the civil service and few others subject to withholding tax, mostly EVADE taxes. > |

But Dangote should also come and establish Administrative offices+ factories in the Niger delta region.
It is disturbing to state here that Dangote has no office in Delta state or Rivers state.
The cement trucks are a nuisances in most of the streets.
They do not have a garage of their own where they can reach their customers. Why should he "come and establish Administrative offices + factories in the Niger Delta region"? Is he the federal government setting up "political" factories and businesses? Or do you want his staff kidnapped by "youths"? Unless it makes business sense, dude is NOT coming...
