I lost a lot of respect for him when I discovered he ditched a show without notice.

This is wrong and painful to the organisers.

Americans this, Americans that...

That you ve not been seeing Americans do it doesn't mean no one else should do it. Does it?undecided

If not inferiority complex, I don't see why a black man can't condemn or support a thing without using Americans as a point of reference. What is right is right and wrong, wrong.

Plus I don't see how this is a show of disrespect to our military. If not for the love she has for the uniform, would she be putting it on?

Finally, even in your "almighty" America, you will hardly find a musician who has not bn on their military camouflage for one show or the other.

Attached is a screenshot of many of them who have used it in the past and are still using it
THANK YOU!
Was wondering if it is not the same America you can go to any Goodwill outlet and pick up a used military jacket. undecided

Please decongest Lagos. Thank you
livebyday:
Trully Lagos needs to be decongested
wink2015:
When will they open the Warri seaport to the outside world?

Are Niger delta militants and sea pirate disturbing the free flow of ships across the sea route?

Apapa, Lagos port has been over used.

The federal government should decongest Lagos ports that is becoming too tight and look towards the Niger delta region
lollybizzu:
I don't know why I'm very happy with this news.

I think it's a good one. Let the commercialization be decentralized from Lagos.

May this not be the end.
It is PRIVATE importers (not the federal government) that decides which ports to use...

Nigeria has seaports at Onne (FOT and FLT), Warri, Sapele, Calabar and Port Harcourt, yet many PRIVATE importers (even many of those shipping goods to the South-South and South-East regions) still prefer Lagos ports because of costs, security and logistics.

Population is not the problem, mediocrity in leadership is responsible for lwhat you are seeing in Lagos today, these also cut across the country, unfortunately we have settled for less in this part of the world coz unnecessary sentiments..

When yoh compare Lagos to other populous cities in the world, you will realize that poplulation is not actually the problem rather we lack quality leadership in this country, politicians are more concern about how much wealth they can acquire while in power nothing else....
Sorry, but it's not just leadership...

People paste posters right underneath "Post No Bill" signs, casually litter the streets, turn public bins into water containers, urinate against the wall of public toilets, etc. Ultimately, the condition of Lagos (and Nigeria) is a culmination of the conduct of all residents (by omission or commission).

If you know what these nationals from African nations think when you introduce yourself as a Nigerian you would know Abuja is not even developed enough to be "Nigerian" capital city.some parts of Nairobi be like heaven, there are some things that are alien to us till you see these "small" countries, Chai, I shock when I first left Benin city, edo state for abomey in Benin Republic ,damn .

There are only 4 thing Ambode did in Lagos

Airport Road
Ajah Bridge
Oshodi Terminus
I think a project in Epe can't remember now.

Tell me what else.

Security 0
Waste Management 0
Road Network 0 (Satellite town was abandoned he said. It's PDP area)

Tell me what he did apart from those 4 things I listed. Jug my memory.

Sanwolu isn't as good a Fashola but better than Ambode.
In addition to my previous list, the employment trust fund (LSETF) set up by Ambode has given grants and low-interest loans to hundreds of SMSEs set up by Lagos RESIDENTS - i.e., all residents of Lagos are eligible regardless of so-called state of origin.

The Ambode administration also provided FREE education to over 1 million students in Lagos public schools - again, without regard to so-called state of origin. His administration renovated scores of public schools (under the direct supervision of the Deputy Governor, who happens to be an Educator), trained and re-trained teachers, raise teacher salaries and provided some headmasters and principals with housing and/or car loans. In addition, the FREE Code Lagos initiative (to train a minimum of a million coders) and the Ready-Set-Work training and internship program has provided better and more employment opportunities for young graduates and the youth. Its FREE adult literacy program (Eko nke koo), for which it recruited and trained 1000 recent graduates as facilitators, had over 50,000 adult enrollees in just the first year.

In health, the Ambode government has inaugurated the biggest sub-national contributory healthcare insurance scheme in Africa, renovated/upgraded primary healthcare centers, and has set up a first-class Critical Care Center at LASUTH (headed by a Professor from Howard University, Washington DC), among other initiatives. Furthermore, even though the Security Trust Fund was initiated before his administration Ambode has sustained and improved on it, including increasing death benefits to policemen killed in the line of duty to N5 million (and bear in mind that this is s federal police force which should not be the state’s responsibility in the first instance). One could go on and on, but suffice it to note that virtually all major projects by the Ambode administration often has a sign with the notation “Your Taxes at Work”!

Nigeria is in such a sad state because we often mock and deride success and hard work, while elevating failures and rent-seekers. SMH

We Lagosians can only pray that BSO will be better than Ambode (even Fashola) in the future...
But to be brutally honest, at this point, Sanwo-Olu cannot carry Ambode's jockstrap in governance!

Permit me to "jog your memory" with respect to ambode's tenure, in addition to the projects you listed, there are the Abule-Egba flyover bridge, the 21 border roads and 2 bridges at Alimosho, the road network at Epe, Ojodu Berger revitalization, the Ikeja terminal, the Bariga Waterfront and jetty, the court and magistrate complex at Badagry, the Five Cowries Jetty at Falomo, the HOMS housing estates that he completed or brought near to completion, the Light-Up Lagos initiative, and the 450 inner roads (each with covered sidewalks and streetlights), as well as the several projects that he started but the thugs at the House of Assembly refused to pass his 2019 budget until after he left office to ensure that he did not complete, such as the Pen Cinema Agege flyover, the Yaba and Oyingbo terminals, the Oshodi-Abule Egba BRT corridor, the proposed Fagba flyover, etc.

Frankly, the BUSIEST person thus far in BSO's government has been the OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER!

There's an improvement compared to what it used to be, more is still needed in enlightening the populace on hazards associated with indiscriminate dumping of refuse, and also in areas of enforcing discipline. Like the billions he's currently saving in cement
YES! Before the likes of Dangote (and BUA) started producing cement locally....
Nigeria was the WORLD'S SECOND-LARGEST IMPORTER OF CEMENT (after the US).

Local production of cement by indigenous producers like Dangote (and BUA)...
Forced foreign companies like LaFarge to upgrade their old plants and invest in new ones.

Local production and competition also raised the quality of cement...
From the old 32.5R grade to Dangote's 52.5R (matching the top grade globally).

It also has created THOUSANDS OF JOBS IN NIGERIA (across the entire value chain)...
And not only saved billions of forex in imports, but also earns Nigeria forex in EXPORTS!

Dangote's first priority will be how to pay back the loans used to set up the refinery and not how Nigeria will save x amount of billions.
If FG had set up a refinery same time as Dangote started, the refinery would have been operational by now but they would rather place the future of an entire nation to a man that dreams of being the richest man on earth by merely producing sugar, cement etc.
Are both mutually-exclusive? shocked

And why shouldn't he become the richest man by producing things that PEOPLE need, rather than just manipulating numbers on Wall Street?!

sulaak:
A capitalist country will encourage competition by selling the four-state own refineries to Dangote competitors and encourage competition, instead of monopoly.
It's neither state capture nor a monopoly....
There were at least TWENTY-EIGHT (28) private refinery licenses BEFORE Dangote got a license.

In fact, if either of you want to build a refinery...
You are free to approach the DPR and apply for a license (with supporting evidence of course)!

They didn't "give" Dangote anything....
Nigerians have such a rent-seeking mindset that they are always thinking 'allocation'!

This is an INVESTMENT financed entirely by Dangote (through equity and debt)...

Nigeria has probably spent about US$50-60 billion importing products (enough for about 15 new refineries).
