BusinessRe: CBN Plans Fresh Banks’ Recapitalisation As Capital Base Weakens By $3.5bn by 9jaRealist: 6:24am On Jun 25, 2019
All of the big banks have long ago surpassed any effect of currency devaluations on their capital base, as the likes of Zenith, GTBank, Access, First Bank and UBA each have shareholders funds well in excess of US$1 billion.

I doubt 700 million Africans know who is he. Remember a lot of Africans live in rural areas without power and Internet and little to no access to the outside world
And you think they are no radios in rural Africa?
One would expect Americans to be ignorant of these matters, but supposedly “educated” Africans?! SMH

When we said it no one believed us.

All their shows abroad are attended overwhelmingly by illegal African immigrants and a few of their white friends, or small pockets of curious whites.

The average Briton or American, black or not, has no idea who wizkid and davido are, but their promoters and groupies would have you believe they're popular.

If they were that popular Black Panther would've featured their music.
Perhaps that’s why they are average... grin grin grin

The amount being wasted on this so-called feeding program is enough to bring many out of poverty.
If you provide job for parents, no one will need to eat free food at school but our government prefer to enslave us and feed us with leftovers
Sometimes Nigerians speak as if governments will stand on a street corner handing out “jobs”...
These sorts of homegrown feeding programs creates scores of JOBS for farmers, suppliers, cooks, etc.

cococandy:
Marriages made sense as opposed to not making sense now right? What’s better ? Something that makes sense or something that doesn’t? In order words if marriages made sense then when women couldn’t fend for themselves and it doesn’t make sense now, aren’t you implying marriage was better then?

You think the specific word makes a world of difference in the underlying message you’re sending?
Keep telling yourself that you’re not a misogynist.
You may not agree with him (and I do not necessarily either)...
But you are saying/implying something totally DIFFERENT from his statement.

First, his statement is not valuative, so the issue of “better” or “worse” does not arise...
His point (if I understood it) is that marriage as a social construct made more sense when societies had only one breadwinner.

Where social mores avail of only one breadwinner, matrimony is vital to protect/provide for the family unit...
Conversely, where every parent can be a breadwinner, matrimony becomes less crucial to protect/provide for the unit.

GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS are free in the US, UK and AUSTRALIA.
People start paying when they get to COLLEGES.
In fact Grants are awarded to students.
Education is a RIGHT and not a privilege
U still see it as a privilege.
They have gone beyond what you are thinking now
Education is NEITHER a right nor a privilege...
Rather it is somewhere in the middle as a desirable.

To the extent that we can afford it (and I think we can)....
Basic education (perhaps up to JSS3) should be universal and free.

BTW, what you call “free” public education in the US is actually “paid” for by parent’s taxes...
That’s why there’s a huge disparity in the quality of US public education between the poor inner cities and the wealthier suburbs.

If we started paying the kind of taxes they pay in the US, UK and Australia to maintain that free educaiton here in Nigeria, the cry from most Nigerians would be 'Our politicans are exploiting us again'.

Our budget is less than the budget of some US states for example...who don't have as much population as we do.

It is harsh, but the reason why we have bad government schools is because of 'free education'. The education budget in Nigeria is less than 5 billion dollars. In Canada its 50billion or more for just primary and secondary education.

I agree our government and politicans have stolen from us, but to be honest, Nigeria is not making enough money. Our revenue from oil is not enough. Even returning to agriculture and mines might only make things slightly better.

Yes, our leaders had 'free education'...back in the days when less than 10% of kids were in school (as at independence...and the number went down to 2% in the Nawth)...so governments could afford free education...plus there was the incentive of training people to replace the whites who were leaving us. Not now where the population is far larger....

If you want free quality education like the US, UK and Australia and even Denmark , you should be prepared for tax rates that would chop half your salary....and fees into the bargain.
Our CAPITAL budget is less than the New York CITY police department...
But still with better management, we could provide much better public education. It’s been done BEFORE in Nigeria!

If I were the driver, that passenger must pay for damages on my vehicle. You can't be violating people's privacy and expect to get away with it.

That single stupid act has landed some people in police cell, with their phones lost or damaged forever. Next time, face your front and mind your business. Nobody has gotten stoned at for doing that

Didn't Lagos state government ban sitting and hanging on trains?
Abegi, what “privacy” would that be?
Privacy implies doing something in private - not hanging on a PUBLIC train in PUBLIC!

Who cares if philanthropy is “systematic” as long as it is philanthropy?
Africans have been doing philanthropy from birth without the tax benefits that go with the “systematic” type.

In fact, anything “systematic” is virtually by definition engineered...

Dude, I think you have it screwed backwards...
Westerners tend to be primarily individualistic, while African/black cultures and societies tend to be more communal.

Sociology aside, the reality is that we came up against better and more prepared teams playing in their own backyards...
Accordingly, the losses themselves are not terribly disheartening, it’s the added disadvantage of biased/poor officiating that stings!

If i have to give an answer to your question....... Most european female players are conversant with VAR. For examples, Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Madrid, Mancity..... Female team plays under it watch. I can accept the fact that its still subjected to human decisions, thats why there is a provided screen for the whole world to see.
Many (if not most) Nigerian and Cameroonian national team female players play in Europe and China where versions of VAR has been tried out over the past season. However, there are aspects of the WWC VAR that are either new or not uniformly/universally applied domestically.

Why does a black has to be the victim of Racism all the time?

How comes there are no black racistshuh

Why cant a white man be a victim of racism?
Because racism is the exercise of POWER...

Thus while almost everyone has prejudices, only those who have the POWER to translate such prejudices into detrimental action can effectuate racism. Accordingly, while in theory racism is race-neutral (and of course in black majority nations whites can be victims), in practice in Western societies blacks are usually the victims thereof. Furthermore, the most pervasive type of racism is INSTITUTIONALIZED racism, and we all know who usually controls the institutions of Western nations. Please use this as a LEARNING moment.

What the Oyinbo team’s have enjoyed is a prejudicial IMPLEMENTATION advantage.
