PoliticsRe: LASG Begins Massive Road Rehabilitation, Covering Of Manholes Across The State by 9jaRealist: 12:51pm On Jun 21, 2019
AutoReportNG:
The Lagos State Government has begun massive highway reconstruction across the state now that the rainy season is here even though there still needs lot to be done in this regards, but we still have to commend them by starting the work they are meant to do. Also, we noticed that the state government has also contracted the covering of all holes around the metropolis. Manholes are usually left open by Lagos State officials after clearing the drainage, they refused to cover these holes back which cause lots of damages, accident to road users.

Starting from Marina in Lagos Island, Victoria Island, 3rd Mainland Bridge, the team are using the composite manhole covers, what makes this unique is that it's not susceptible to theft unlike the others that they open and carry away either by the workers or by the public.

Meanwhile, judgmental Nigerians, who told you this is the only thing she has done to “aid her transition” or her “way to heaven”? Pretty sure she has taken care of all of the more weighty affairs and probably even made her peace with her maker, but sometimes it is these little seemingly insignificant things that lightens our load. EducationRe: Ondo’s Investment In Education Paying Off (photos) by 9jaRealist: 9:19pm On Jun 20, 2019
OndoFirstBorn:
About 700 public primary schools in Ondo State have been renovated.

This is coming two years after Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu assumed office.

He had vowed to promote quality and sustainable education that will ensure technological growth never experienced in the state.

“Unless we take the issue of education seriously, our quest for development will not only be unrealisable, but regrettably, laughable,” he said, lamenting the state he met the education sector.

“This is a deplorable process, which regrettably, culminates in the award of varying shades of certificates to individuals, who lack capacity to apply knowledge to solve problems,” he added.

Since the beginning of the Akeredolu-led administration, the Ondo State government has paid N3.7 billion as counterpart funding for basic education, which was matched by the Federal Government through the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to revamp the primary education sector.

The government also constructed toilet facilities in about 300 of the primary schools that have been renovated.

Among the benefitting schools are St Jude’s Primary School, Obinehin; Don Bosco School, Ondo and St Andrew’s Primary School, Elegbeka.

Many educators and parents, while seeking more attention on public schools, have praised the Akeredolu-led administration for its efforts so far.

They said the schools would have been much better if previous administrations had paid similar attention to education in the state.

A retired head teacher in IIe-Oluji, who spoke in confidence said: “You will agree with me that most of our schools would have been in a lot better shape if other administrations had paid better or similar attention to education in Ondo State.

“However, I would love to see the government extend its programme to other schools needing attention in the state. This move is beginning to yield results and life is gradually returning to the state-owned primary schools.”

Ondo State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB)Chairman, Princess Oladunni Odu told The Nation that new building are still being constructed along with supply of furniture, provision of boreholes and other facilities.

According to Mrs Odu, another 314 projects would be awarded very soon in various primary schools, including agricultural materials, sporting equipment and 77 containerised toilets.

“We want to make education attractive through functional system with training and re-training of teachers. Parents are now satisfied with public schools, there are more qualified teachers, adequate security and conducive environment,” she said.

In order to boost teachers’ morale, the state government recently rolled out promotion letters to 1,800 primary school teachers in the state. They were promoted after a rigorous screening exercise carried out by SUBEB.

The promoted teachers were said to have scored high marks in characters and performed well in the examination and interview conducted for them.

This is in addition to the recruitment of more primary schools teachers, which the SUBEB Chairman said is happening for the first time since 2006.

The Nigeria Union of Teachers, (NUT) Chairman, Ondo State chapter, Mr. Victor Amoko, lauded the state government for the kind gesture.

The promotion, Amoko said, would motivate the teachers. He urged them to reciprocate the kind gesture by putting in their best in impacting knowledge on the pupils.

Also speaking on the progress in the education sector, Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Akorede, lauded Governor Akeredolu for resuscitating Akure Muslim School. “For a long time, the Muslims community in Akure watched as the school went in ruins, as many parents took their children to other schools.

Well done Gov. Akeredolu...well done!! Proud of this State, The Sunshine State! My State!
But the signboards indicate the renovation contracts were awarded in 2015 and 2016, before Akeredolu assumed office in 2017... undecided

Anyway, good move nonetheless (at least he did not revoke the contracts), but it seems the contracts did not involve any landscaping, and most importantly hopefully the state government is going to pay as much (even MORE) attention to the quality (and training) of TEACHERS!

You see a style you love online....obviously made by a renowned designer maybe Gucci or even a stylist that was trained abroad,, lets not forget that the person you see this style on paid thousands of dollars(Cardi B and nicki minaj are testimonies) ,you take a screenshot and give it to an Ibadan tailor trained to sow Iro and Buba,Oleku, gown, skirt and blouse to do the work a designer that did research might have done in 3 months and ask the tailor to do it in three weeks
You get what you deserve, come back to troll a tailor on insta because you have celeb fan base and even put d price tag in front which is 100000 barely 300 dollars
Go abroad and look for the tailor that will do this for you with 300 dollars

Customer satisfaction ọkwa ya?
I hope you do realize that her rant on Instagram can cause the designer her hustle. If fulani wasn't satisfied, all she had to do was to consult the designer personally and not on Instagram. That can make her lose future clients as no other celebrity may patronise her again.

You need to understand why she ranted that way. It wasn't professional i agree. If she hadn't gone to Instagram in the first place, none of this would have happened.

this was the same way one stupid girl like that went to Edmund top 10 chat and started ranting, but when she got served, she came seeking for sympathy lol! She no Sabi how much don jazzy settle the guy for back wey she wan spoil the guy hustle grin

Banning sniper will not solve anything. There are many other alternatives out there people can use. The solution against suicide is to find the cause/reason behind it. The country is so messed up. Everything stopped working immediately the british handed over in 1960. Nobody sees a better Nigeria ahead because nothing is on ground to show that things will get better. Everybody needs hope but hope is not forthcoming. May God help us.
And while they are searching for those “alternatives” maybe something will happen to change their minds...
