Ubiman: There's nothing like indigenous Igbos in Akwa Ibom. We call them settlers. They own no claim to any of the ancestral heritage of the Akwa Ibom territories they squat in. So, stop this nonsense. Do they have their own laws and government that is recognized by the State? Let this your "Indigenous" rubbish end there. Post your sign post anywhere in Akwa Ibom, like you do all over the South East, and tell me what happens after.
This is the PRIMORDIAL Nigerian mentality in a nutshell (Ife-Modakeke, Zango-Kataf, Jos, etc.)… You could live and inter-marry together for centuries, and yet some people will regard you as less-than.
What a PRIMITIVE country and people… Land does NOT germinate human beings, and EVERYONE moved from somewhere at some point. SMH >
Even his sister Mfon had been both captain and official of D’Tigress… They are PROUD NIGERIANS, and one wonders why some of you want to be ‘ashamed’ on their behalf! >
careytommy37: So a security meeting has to be called just to etffect an okada ban?
Not sure many of you understand the SECURITY aspect of Okada in Lagos… So many (especially non-Lagosians) keep blathering on about it as a transportation issue. SMH >
hilfinity: Bros, you should know that an event like that will be so crowded with all manners of humans; theives, thugs, sick people, kids etc.
So do you expect things to go smoothly without strict measures from the organizers to control the crowd
Na naija be this o, and you sabi how things dey go in this tough times.
Just stumbled upon this news report… Looks well organized - except “impatient” folks stampeded BEFORE the even was scheduled to start. #TakeResponsibility
plaindealer: The USSR invaded same Afghanistan and fought the Mujahedin for 10 years, that war bankrupted the USSR, and they had no choice but to accept t and returned to the USSR weak and bankrupt which led to the collapse of the USSR, the same collapse, that broke up the USSR and created Russia, independent Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and so on.
On the other hand, the US withdrew from Afghanistan, but not broke, not weak, not bankrupt, and definitely, the US did not break up or fragment like the USSR.
The Mujahedin Aghanistan actually defeated the USSR.
By that same measure, the Taleban “actually defeated” the US… Who pulled out after 20 years abandoning hundreds of millions worth of equipment and weapons.
Meanwhile, part of the “Mujahedin” the US bankrolled and weaponized in Afghanistan… Morphed into Al Qaeda and came calling on the US homeland. Talk about evil coming home to roost! >
Mrtaye: I am from Abeokuta but I tell you boldly that Umahi is the best governor in Nigeria so what's your fuse about, even your state governor is nowhere close so please stop the hate on your fellow brother
Like I said, flyovers are to present-day Nigerians what shiny trinkets were to their bamboozled forefathers… >
Angelfrost: Nope... They don't have to say a damn thing.
It's not everything we jump into, especially things that put us in a disadvantage globally.
Not surprised at that mindset in a society unused to transparency… Nonetheless, if they don’t say anything then rumor becomes the order of the day.
Meanwhile, unsure how simply relaying TRUTHFUL FACTS supposedly puts us in “a disadvantage”…. Monkey Pox is a ROUTINE disease (not particularly deadly nor easily transmissible) across West and Central Africa.
You think it’s a “secret” we should hide, because you’re apparently only hearing about it? >
Tobe4vic: Brodas and sisters please save up ooo......na anoda lockdown this people wan put up so
We have Monkey Pox EVERY YEAR in Nigeria… Monkey is NOTHING like Covid, and does not require a lockdown.
Monkey Pox is more like small pox and chicken pox (but LESS deadly)… It is NOT easily transmissible, and only require patient isolation (plus treatment). >
lomprico: These crooks want to start cashing out again. Since covid own don flop
Ibraheemmawa: omoh na today another banga way of looting our funds again may God deliver Nigeria ,.monkey pox wey we Don experience am since 2004,2005,2006.
IgOga: Another scam loading na now una see cases...se na blood test scam abi na visible monkey pox....WHO cash loading for politicians....
There’s NOT an “outbreak” in Nigeria… We have Monkey Pox EVERY YEAR in Nigeria… So we’re likely not getting any new “WHO cash”! >
They want to use this one to cashout Like they did with Corona virus
maxito28: They have come up with dis one again. They wanna use it as an opportunity 2 swipe everything in d Treasury. 9ja wia 2?
chihes: God forbids...affliction will not rise a second time.
Mexyz: This useless agency don come again, they are always looking out for any little outbreak of disease for them to start dishing out scores and siphoning money.
kenbee: In summary, God please protect your children from all these infectious diseases. We can afford to add another stream of illness after Corona, Hardship, Insecurity, Bad governance, being a Nigerian/ black and Uneducation.
Larrysung: Lol... Covid has definitely set the bar high! Most Nigerians are only scared of this government's inhumane actions which would result to another lockdown and theft.
Felixtuta: Nawa oooo.....God wey see us through covid will see us through this one
> Monkey pox is a REGULAR occurring disease in West and Central Africa… It is like small or chicken pox (but LESS deadly), and we have it ROUTINELY here in Nigeria.
It is NOT a new occurrence (or “outbreak”) in Nigeria… And the only reason it’s making the news now is that it’s spread to US, Canada and Europe. >
mach7: The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the Biolabs of the United States Military located in 4 cities of Nigeria, specifically; Lagos, Abuja, Zaria and Benin was the source of the Monkeypox outbreak.
Please this should be properly investigated, as I wonder why Nigeria will consent for Biolabs of a foreign power to be established on its soil.
Gamezi: Abeg hold ham there… no bring that one come naija oo… be cooking illusion give us
Surayj123: Coronavirus don finish na monkeypox come dey reign.
> Monkey pox is a REGULAR occurring disease in West and Central Africa… It is like small or chicken pox (but LESS deadly), and we have it ROUTINELY here in Nigeria.
It is NOT a new occurrence (or “outbreak”) in Nigeria… And the only reason it’s making the news now is that it’s spread to the Western Hemisphere. >
redPUSSY: Those foolish miscreants will call Deji "Mkpurummiri addict" even when the truth is very audible to the deaf and visible to the blind
Nobody is interested whether Deji is playing mind game, mumu botton or not.. Take the msg and leave the msngr..
So many of us have be pleading to SW to support Eastern Presidency like it was done in the SW in 1999 where the two Major political Parties zoned their presidency to SW, what did we get in return ?.. Insults upon insults like "You can't deposit in zenith bank and withdraw in fidelity" or "," You can't plant yam and harvest cocoyam" and so many ridiculous comments from you people...
Forget whoever Deji is supporting or whatever mumu botton he's pressing.. This has been our stand since time immemorial and so shall it be..
“Eastern Presidency or power will forever remain in the north”[/b]
This UNTRUTH has been repeated often enough that everyone accepts it…. (Similar to the UNTRUTH that the 1993 elections were the most democratic in Nigeria).
First, there were actually 3 (not 2) “major” political parties in 1999…
Obasanjo had to DEFEAT Ekwueme at the Jos Convention to emerge as the PDP’s candidate… Ekwueme did NOT step down for Obasanjo, rather he was DEFEATED (20% to Obasanjo’s 60% of the votes cast).
Similarly, Ogbonnaya Onu emerged as candidate for APP, one of the 3 major parties… While the AD (which was substantively a South-West party) chose Olu Falae as its candidate.
To combat the PDP’s dominance, APP and AD decided to forge an electoral alliance… However, their 2 candidates contested for the joint ticket, but when Onu lost he initially refused to step down.
So, this latter-day version of EVERYONE deciding to zone the presidency to the SW is an expedient FALLACY! >
> Nigeria is the only country that I am aware where courts will stop (and enjoin) the INVESTIGATION of criminal suspects… The right to fair hearing guarantees you the right to confront your accusers in an open court of law (which is AFTER investigation)
Btw, while I think Mr. Malami’s (one of Nigeria’s worst AGs ever) intentions are dubious and likely corrupt… The Constitution nonetheless grants him the SOLE authority to institute or discontinue prosecutions on behalf of the FG. >
Joezinho: Arresting him for 2.5 billion naira and the younger brother to the Speaker of the House Lanre Gbajabiamila who stole over 5 billion from Lottery Commission is still walking freely in the street of Lagos and still occupying Government office...
I blame this Okoroawusa, no matter how a fowl dances with a bird, it still won't fly in the sky. You enjoyed your loot alone with your Fulani croonies. Enjoy the drama alone now Mr Iberiberism.
So N2.5 billion is insignificant money in your mind? How many schools in Imo could N2.5 billion have helped?
Meanwhile, the “excuse” that someone else hadn’t been arrest does not diminish his own criminality (if proven)… Of course all criminals suspect should be prosecuted, but it’s not either all or none at all. Perfection shouldn’t be the enemy of the good. >
