Rather, we sit on the shoulders of centuries of shared experiences and values of achievement.

We have an awful government and a rapacious political elite (unfortunately mostly supported by the so-called masses who worship, fight and even die for them and their selfish interest - including the idiocy of zoning aka chop-I-chop lootocracy), but the reality is that Nigeria’s condition is the culmination of the actions (by commission or omission) of ALL Nigerians - including the Itsekiri and Urhobo electing to slaughter each other in mindless fratricidal genocide over PRIMITIVE primordial sentiments. #TakeResponsibility

Life is NOT a homogeneous experience, and not every Nigerian, or everyone born in Nigeria (not even everyone from Warri or actually born in Warri) lived in Warri in the 90s. Again, it is PRIMITIVE to think there is only one way to be a Nigerian or that people who did not live with you in Warri in the 90s are not Nigerian, or that there is even only a SINGLE authentic Nigerian experience.

Btw, among my so-called “privileges” by choosing to leave the relative comfort of the US and relocate to Lagos is creating and building a business in Nigeria that gainfully employs many Nigerians in Nigeria, developing their talent, sharing my world-class experience, paying them good wages, and helping them support their families, paying taxes, etc. - all of these despite not having lived in Warri in the 90s.

The issue with Bola Tinubu’s academic credentials (and over which the late great Gani Fawehinmi brought a lawsuit) is NOT that he did not attend a university, that the university was not in Chicago, nor that he did not receive a degree. The real issue, going back to the return to democratic rule in 1999, was that Bola Tinubu provided information in his INEC form for the 1999 Lagos State gubernatorial elections that FALSELY stated that he attended and graduated from the UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO.

Now, anyone familiar with universities in the US would know that the University of Chicago is a top world-class private research university, consistently ranked among the Top 10 universities in the US, (and which, just like Stanford University or MIT, is regarded as at par in scholastic achievement and prestige with Ivy League universities, even though it technically is not one), while the university that Bola Tinubu actually attended is CHICAGO STATE UNIVERSITY, a low-rent predominantly-black public (ie, government-owned) university, that may not even be among the Top 1000 universities in the US.
