Isn't £30m a tad too much for a CB with just one good season under his belt with no previous experience in elite Europe? He is 27 for goodness sake! There are a lot of fairly priced options! And if we must overpay I see no reason why we aren't or didn't go in hard for Ezequiel Garay before the World Cup by now his price would skyrocket thanks to his solid showing at the World Cup And while we are talking about defenders I hope pkasso and Toba saw Calamity Luiz at his calamitous best as usual. I would take Boateng over him 24/7, 365 and 366 days in a leap year Tomorrow is a big day for FC Bayern. Very anxious about it and I hope Der Jungs get the job done |
SIRcumalot: How is this the easy way out it isn't like the Cavaliers will win next season ?Don't be naïve I can't even believe you are buying that eye-service homecoming bullcrap he obviously saw younger and budding talents with Wiggins and Kyrie and left knowing fully well Wade and possibly Bosh are past their peak. The Cavs might not win next season but the Championship window is waaaaaaay wider than for the Heat which was a calculated gamble Lebron took. I call BS |
Looks like we have landed Keylor Navas though €10m is quite a lot for a backup goalie Mandzukic finally moves to Atleti. Would really have loved for him to stay but it seems Pep's mind was set. Thanks for the memories and the goal in that UCL Final |
ektbear: The return of the KINGWhich kin yeye King? Always bolting at the slightest inconvenience |
This is why Lebron can never be Jordan or Kobe. Its not merely about titles and rings we can clearly see this ninja is all about taking the easy way out
|
Loooooooooool Lebron back to Cleveland. Haahahaaa so no more Heat fans right? Looks like Bosh to the Rockets |
Hey everyone! I'm in a very big dilemma. I've always avoided pool parties...I'm a very busty and fleshy size 12, and I'll never feel comfortable exposing all that endowment in public. However, its my close friend's birthday party this saturday and its a pool party I HAVE to get a swim suit.So I need your help. Can I have ideas of the kinds of swim suits that would be appropriate for a very busty and chubby madam like me? Pictures, names of stores anywhere in Lagos, and useful tips would be appreciated. N.B: I would love to moderately cover my _boobs_ and tummy most especially. Thank you :*
Oh wow! That's not a bad dilemma to have There is this place on Toyin str Ikeja called Cleavages its practically next to Domino's pizza and Waterparks they might or should be able to help you with that |
pkasso: @A40 I like to think a CB is as good as his defensive partner.Try pairing a Baresi with a wack defender, say Senderos then you will understand what i mean.T Silva's absence was also crucial.I can easily count the no of games Dante and Luiz have started as a CB pair on my digits. The cohesion and telepathic understanding between Silva and Luiz wasn't thereEven if you pair Baresi with a wack defender there would be certain moments where you would know Baresi is Baresi. What part of that did you see in Luiz yesterday? Dante is no rookie and played a key role in our treble, Luiz is also pushing half a century of caps so I don't buy that argument. We have seen makeshift defences do a decent job in the past pkasso: .For the first time in the tournament, we saw an impulsive, unsettled David Luiz making rash and needless challenges. That calming influence from Silva was clearly missing.I've always said that a calm and clear-headed David Luiz is one of the best CBs in the world. So why then do you claim he is one of the best CBs in the world if he always needs a Thiago Silva to be a calming influence in his life? We can clearly see he is not all that and PSG have thrown money inside shalanga but like Kermit "its not my business" How can a captain put up such a shyte performance and you are still here trying to defend the indefensible? It says a lot about his maturity or lack thereof that he cannot raise his game and play a more cerebral role in the absence of his regular partner. So why on earth is he starting ahead of Dante? Granted the DM's played very poorly but Luiz has no excuse for his performance pkasso: Loool you are making it sound like Boateng made a million last-ditch tackles. The team was already 5 goals up and a front-line of Hulk, Fred and Bernard isn't exactly the deadliest strikeforce to start with.I would like to see how he performs when he comes up against assassins in the shape of Messi and possibly Di Maria.A well positioned defender would not need to make tackles in the first place but that's besides the point. The attack of Messi and Di Maria have scored a paltry 8 goals in 6 matches so far so I'm not exactly quaking in my boots! It really would boil down to guys like Fussballgott, Khedira and occasionally Kroos properly shielding the defence like they did the last time, Argentina presented an even more lethal strikeforce at the last WC with Messi, Higuain, Tevez and Aguero yet a CB pairing of Arne Friedrich and Mertesacker were barely troubled because the midfield adequately protected them |
Factoid: Thomas Mueller has covered 68,777m at this World Cup more than anyone else
Iammcsinclair@gmail.com I'll try resending it tho. Argies in the final. They've not been too impressive but somehow something have kept 'em moving and at this stage, one cant afford to take them less serious. You see us having a walk in the park on Sunday?
Ja gut one! I would check it out Its a Final and Finals are rarely ever easy i think Argentina are better coached than the last time around and have looked very organised defensively Die Mannschaft have to play to their strengths one of which is being clinical from freekicks and corners, with the DMs shielding the defence (Khedira and Fussballgott) i think Germany has a bit more quality to just edge it over Argentina |
Mcleo007: Safe for Mascherano, DiMaria and Aguero; the rest are just there. Rojo world class? You are kidding! You don't have to tell lies to prove your point. Where did i say player A or B is world class? Higuain is a very feared striker, Zabaleta was the best right back in the EPL last season, Lavezzi is above average and Ezequiel Garay one of the most stable centerbacks in Europe is 'just there' ? Stop peddling these myths and urban legends |
Oga make we hear abeg! An excellent Argentina side on paper no doubt. But on the field of play? The reverse has been the case. How many of the aforementioned have lived up to expectations? The best thing about them thus far is their defence, which ironically was their achilles heel prior to the World Cup. Abeg just try appreciate that little guy. If I tell you say e easy, òmò na setup oooo.
Whether you like am or whether you no like am the truth is this Argentine team is not as bad as was advertised and at least two other players have outshone Messi at this World Cup. We are not disputing Messi's abilties just correcting the wrong notion that it is an average team chic2pimp: Don't mind peeps spewing poppycock up and down NL.If them no win the team is average if them win the team is still average. Maybe it was Messi that saved Vlaar and Sneijder's penalties yesterday |
Mcleo007: Messi carried an average Argentina team to the final.Argentina average? Taaaaaa! Garay Zabaleta Rojo Mascherano Lavezzi Di Maria Aguero Higuain This is an average team? |
ElGuapo: Sent.Yet to receive anything maybe you should send yours instead |
coded01: HATERS WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO?I hope you know this is the German Machine you are dealing with here your perennial conquerors. Anyway no be by posting for Nairaland. Schweinsteiger know as he dey always give Messi |
ElGuapo: Yeah it works. pkasso: That statement was a bit ill-timed i must confess but pinning all of Brazil's defensive woes on David Luiz is just cheap forgetting that Dante was as equally culpable.I could as well point to the fact that Boateng nearly gave away a penalty and was too easily turned for Oscar's goal but it's not my style.A below average showing against Germany won't change the fact that Luiz has had a great tournament.Luiz has had far more playing time and I expected him to be a bit more composed than Dante who was yet to kick a ball at the World Cup. He was the freaking captain yet became arguably the worst Brazilian on the night! Luiz was clearly outplayed by Boateng who had to cover up for the sluggish and tedious Mertescatter in the second half |
ElGuapo: Guardiola has influenced kini? LolPep just tried to get a little too cute! He actually started well but started to overdo and overcomplicate things all he had to do was make subtle changes to what Juup built but na overskill kill ninja This World Cup shows Bayern is still among the elite or is the elite sef |
ElGuapo: A40 you got mail. This NL mailing system dey work so? Ol boy wetin be the issue is it confidential?Lewandowski's unveiling
|
elampiro: * Alves has been the best right back for about 5 years now. Take it or leave it. Official position also confirms that.Like I said before only jesters would rate Dani Alves over Phillip Lahm. Over the last two years no Right back even comes close! Disciplinary wetin? Alves has been shyte all through this World Cup he was slaughtered by phucking Ivica Olic! It shows how bad Alves's form has been for Maicon to bench him lool can Maicon bench Phillip Lahm? Dante's phuck up is excusable that was his first match against the worst team possible! Blame Scolari for not giving Dante any playing time prior to that game |
elampiro: I am sure f you dig out the stat of Ghana and Germany, it will favour Germany. But the whole world knew the team who could have won it and which was lucky to get a draw.Lucky to get a draw? Is this a joke? They equalized as early as the 72nd minute and could easily have won the match with the late pressure that was applied StarBoard: Rais Mbohli and nothing more.elampiro yarns a lot of megedefegede sometimes! Mbohli was Man of the Match that was how influential he was |
elampiro: Danny Alves is the best right back and for many years now. Am I to listen to your personal opinion or the official opinion as voted by national team captains and coaches?Anyone that opens his mouth to claim Dani Alves is the best right back in the world should not be taken seriously in football debates. Are you telling me he is better than Lahm? If he is so good why is Maicon benching him at RB or isn't Scolari one of the coaches that voted? elampiro: I don't agree at all. At worst, Brazil would finish second. If referee helped them as you claim, did referee also help them in the 2nd round and quarter final? Netherlands, Nigeria and France also all benefited from referees errors.Dey there dey yarn us abamo with Thiago out they had Dante (a UCL winning CB) Are you telling me a Thiago Silva led defence has never conceded 4 goals? Neymar's injury was unfortunate but it is part of football, Marco Reus didn't even make the World Cup and heaven didn't fall. |
RuuDie: Yeah, yeah, yeah... enough of the BS already! So they put 7 past an almost "non-existent opposition"...!!? Abegi, lets see 'em in "real" footie match before we talk them up into something they aren't!If Brazil had won it would be inspite of Neymar and Silva now they lost they have suddenly become "non-existent" so Portugal and France were not real matches? Oo npe |
elampiro: Qualifying matches to the world cup. They were excellent already. I am not talking about the world cup knockout matches. The way you analyze football sometimes dey always make me wonder. Dani Alves best rightback? In what planet? Maybe Mars. Shey Alves was not there when Bayern r@ped Barca 7-0? Neymar would have pulled 3 goals back? How many has he scored in the knockout phase? And who asked Thiago Silva to amass two bookings? Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels are yet to pick up a card in this tournament |
pkasso: David Luiz has shamed all his critics at this WC.Anyone who still thinks Boateng is better needs to have their head checked.Bwahahahahaha |
Nihilist: Based on what exactly?Abeg no mind Guapo comparing sleep to death! Shebi na for this same thread person compare Joe Cole to Schweinsteiger no iranu wey man never see for this Nairaland |
Seventh Heaven! This is epic and for Klose to break Ronaldo's record against Brazil makes it extra-special. Can't wait for Sunday we have to win this now |
Oga Toba accept my formal apology on Kroos! I take back every negative thing I have ever said about him *sike* But really though super all-round game |
I hope the ref does not deploy double-standards and fail to punish Brazil where necessary! This same ref sent off Marchisio for his rash tackle against Uruguay. Fernandinho got away with murder against James Rodriguez and if his bones were as brittle as Neymar's he would have been in I.C.U by now Ironically Brazil tried to appeal Thiago Silva's yellow card which funny enough would not have been necessary if he was rightfully sent off against Mexico Anyway it all boils down to Germany deciding within themselves that they are ready to go all the way and not go out in another semi-final. I don't necessarily agree that Neymar and Thiago Silva not playing hurts their chances it gives the other strikers and attacking players (not named Fred) liberty to operate which could be dangerous as everything does not have to go through Neymar and there is no one person to shut down! I think the absence of Silva is the one that can hurt them but Dante is a more than capable backup unfortunately for Brazil he has been given zero playing time and the match rust might show. We have ended dreams of host teams and these players have also had their dreams as hosts ended thankfully the FC Bayern core of the team have gotten over the hump of winning a major international tournament and know what it takes to get the job done. I'm backing my boys to march into the Finals and make history A brace by Thomas Müller should settle it |
Mcleo007: Barcelona lives and breathes tiki-taka. No coach or player can change that; a slight modification can be tolerated but only for a short while. The fans and Catalan press would come at any single or collective individuals who does a redundancy on the status quo. That Xavi is out doesn't stop the flow of the game, someone else, another La Masia product who breathes tiki taka would take over from where he stopped, albeit with his own unique style. The teams stranglehold has always been in the middle, which is where the rhythm of each game is interpreted.Lool since when? Tiki-taka is still a relatively new phenomenon even at Barcelona and its largely being lauded because it brought unprecedented success but the moment it stops yielding that trust fans to cry for something new. It remains to be seen how well the next generation perform, I'm no psychic so I really can't say for sure if the next product is ready but I guess the results would give us a clue Mcleo007: I have always maintained that, tiki taka is not the problem with Barca, but the players playing the tiki taka at the moment. Busquets in my opinion is a natural successor to Xavi. I've always said that! He may have been a shadow of himself this past season, but his importance to the club is second to none. I hope to see him sit tight in CMF while Mascherano/Song slug it out in the holding role. Its not that we are saying tiki-taka is the problem but the truth is tiki-taka in its present iteration has been found out! There has to be some sort of hybrid plan in the meantime while the main actors of tiki-taka I'm not so sure about Busquets being the heir apparent to Xavi I strongly suspect you have sold him to Chelsea. I don't see Busquets stepping into Xavi's shoes with all due respect Mcleo007: As for Sanchez, dude can't be any better than he's been. He will always live under the shadow/influence of Messi. How else can one explain his goal scoring form when Messi was out injured and with Messi back in the team. 98% of his goals came with Messi away. With Messi back, his goal attempts were almost non-existent. What does that tell you? After 3 on/off seasons, there is little more to expect from him. He's a great though, but Barca is not his berth. We can only cash in on him. Suarez is far superior plus other young lads have to come through. And Pedro; he may not be as skillful, but aside Messi, no Barca player of the past seasons converts goal opportunities like him. Check the stats; they don't lie. This pretty much applies to every player at Barcelona including Pedro, look at Neymar for Brazil does he bear any resemblance to the one at Barcelona? Maybe you need to focus on making your team not all about Messi because like it or not big teams have figured out how to slow down Messi as the last 3 seasons in the UCL have showed That Sanchez's goals dried up after Messi's injury isn't too hard to explain what you should be pleased about is that for a change someone stepped up in Messi's absence. I may be wrong but I don't recall Pedro ever scoring 19 League goals |
Mcleo007: In a direct approach mixed with tiki taka flava, I'll pick Pedro over Sanchez anyday. This your present Barcelona without Xavi might not necessarily play tiki-taka next season so with Pedro's form going south (has been that way for 2 years now) and Sanchez's going north selling Sanchez just doesn't make sense from my viewpoint. A Messi-Suarez-Sanchez-Neymar lineup would have been quite brutal |
Suprised you guys want to offload Sanchez yet keep Pedro. Sanchez is clearly the better player |
We have officially signed Juan Bernat from Valencia for €10m. He's a left-sided defender who can also play on the wings, a replacement for Contento maybe? He gets the number 18 shirt |
toba: Pathetic response. Stop chasing shadows. That’s a typo error. I have overlooked couple of errors in your post cos we aren’t here to debate about written English. Anyway, if you want us to start, no qualms, I’ll just dig out those errors in your posts, which I have quoted already.Mo kan fi e pa! If you burst an artery over that na you sabi. Ode toba: that’s more like a rhetoric cos i simply requested you to describe your own character and not this BS.That is an eediotic request! I'm not answerable to you so when I ignore your request the sensible thing for you to do is move on and stop making a phool out of yourself toba: Abegi. Shut up and go sidon somewhere. Says someone who has been agitated for quite some time, since this debate got heated up. FYI, you're over reacting if you don’t know. If you want to claim that you shouldn’t be taken seriously, then I can assumed that you know the truth about Kroos, but just too ashamed to admit it.Loool! You lack the tools to agitate me! I'm clearly taking the piss at you but if you want to keep being naïve then be my guest I won't even try to stop you. There is nothing to admit about Kroos stop deceiving yourself! toba: repeating the same thing you've said means what? The question was about Manuel Neuer, before you called me a fan boy.Neuer's contribution was direct and not intercepted it is a more credible one than Kroos's which failed to even reach its target. Like I have proven to you already it was a failed cross/pass toba: In this case or cases of this subject (Kroos' contribution) which one of us has a valid point?Me toba: Smh. He was just mentioned for being passive right or for actually doing something that can’t be separated from the goal? Smh.Alves played a more crucial role than Kroos did toba: Smh once again. You don’t even understand what you're reading. You've been claiming that Alves did ‘this or that’ before Muller scored and I’m telling you that someone must make mistake in order for another to score. If the defenders stopped messi, he may not have scored. Messi had a one on one against Belgium, but the keeper prevented messi cos the keeper did what he ought to do. Messi wouldn’t score if he was stopped. Muller wouldn’t score if Alves directed the ball completely off Muller's reach. Get that into your head.Stop talking rubbish! Who does not know mistakes have to be made for goals to be scored Captain Obvious? My point is stop giving Kroos credit for Müller's intelligence and alertness because even after Alves's mistake there was still work for Müller to do toba: You may need to review that goal again and state whether Neuer could have done better, if you're indeed honest.I can also say Lahm could have done better then! Since he allowed Hazard get into a dangerous position what is your point? toba: Nobody? Are you sure? Who was Ribery's cross meant for at Camp Nou when Bayern played Barca and the Pique did the own goal?Again comparing ponmo with actual meat. Ribery's effort directly led to a goal and assist for him! How it correlates with Kroos's I don't know toba: Can we talk about the Muller's goal, without talking about his contribution?Yes I can! toba: Firstly no one is talking about assist with you. I have told you more than 3 times, but it’s too difficult for you to understand. Also, we are talking the world cup here and he hasn’t played 10 games at the WC so far. Or has he?I don't care much for your contribution megedefegede. If its not an assist or a direct and intended chance created it is rubbish and only a figment of your fanboyish imagination Again who talked about 10 games? My post clearly stated 10 goals! When I ask if you can count or if you are ret@rded now you would start taking it personal toba: What is kroos' preferred position?Any position in the midfield that requires little or no defensive responsibility. He is a regista |
