RuuDie: I wish Tito better health and success in his battle with cancer.

Unfortunately for Tito, the one thing I will always remember him for is failing woefully in your duty as manager, leader and motivator. On a night when FCB, under your reign, would have attained "immortality"; on a night when the "craziest of the craziest" football fans believed... you off all people did not and you let your side slump to a disgraceful defeat without as much as whimper. For his sake, I do hope he does not give up the fight for his life like he gave up on FCB on the night they needed his voice, presence and spirit the most!
Loool this guy! Did you bet on the final too? Chei Bayern use your eye see something last season oh
You people need to realize Barcelona isn't the force they used to be! They barely scraped past PSG and took advantage of an abject Milan side in the previous round. 1000 Messi's would not have saved Barca that day

Johnpaul88: Some quarters also believe Pep used that slashing to hide his eventual capture of Thiago. He knew he said he wouldn't come back for Barca players and he knew he was not a man whose words were his bound.
Man you need to chill with this conspiracy theories! And while you are at it blame your sports director or whoever dumbass drew up that contract that made it so easy for Thiago to leave

Johnpaul88: He should stop dividing the Culés into taking sides because these things are controversial and you never know which side is true.
You can tell yourself this till you are blue in the face but all is fair in love and war! When you attack someone first you are not at liberty to determine how they respond

Johnpaul88: If he wants to be left alone then he should leave Barca alone and ask himself if the burst was needful?
Leave Barca alone?? Haha is this guy serious at all who was disturbing Barca in the first place? Aren't yall the one still hanging on like bitter exes? why did Rosell attack him in the first place

Johnpaul88: May be he never expected Tito to take up the appointment letter from Barca to replace him when he left.
This is laughable at best! Last time I checked he voluntarily stepped down

Johnpaul88: His failure to be with his friend during his worst moments in NY is a testimony against him
He was supposed to be there changing his diapers right? That is between him and Tito! Who is Rosell to bring it up? And who said Pep didn't visit Tito in NY

Johnpaul88: I stand by Tito and the Board. Even though Guardiola is a Barca Legend , his recent earth-shaking out bursting, is a tad disappointing
Disappointing to you? I didn't see you chastising Rosell for his silly outbursts against Pep despite all he has done for your club
Abeg stop with the double-standards

Johnpaul88: He had had to deny a lot of allegations and you'll begin to wonder which one is still a lie against him.

Johnpaul88: I'm surprised no one has brought up the recent war of words between Guardiola and his former employers.
Sandro Rosell is a tw@t! Why couldn't he respect the wishes of Pep his former employee

Johnpaul88: If PSG completes the sighing of Marquinhos, it may give Barca an opportunity to swoop for Thiago Silva.
Lol una no fit get Thiago stop pipedreaming bruh

Johnpaul88: I'm not wishing dt Thiago fails outside of Barca but i was particular about Bayern. He's success there is hanging on the balance. The reasons have been well discussed. But i see him succeeding more in Man united. The reasons have been well discussed also.
Why are you particular about Bayern? Is it because they are the best team in Europe. You are so adamant that you have all but labeled him a bust before he even kicks a ball! And your analysis is based on pure bad belle because all pointers suggest that he is likelier to succeed at Bayern than at United but you only chose to look at the issue from the negative angle (which you are entitled to anyway)

PureOhio: While I think it’s perfectly fine for a woman to bring up the subject of marriage, and highly advisable for a couple to discuss the topic of marriage before a proposal, I want to reiterate that it is the man’s duty to get down on one knee and ask for your hand in marriage.

Ladies, don’t believe any hype that a man tries to sell you about us being “equals” and how “a woman can propose too.” A real man wants the honor of getting down on his knee and asking his woman to marry him. A real man does not want you to take that away from him.
What happened to female rights? Equal opportunity etc! I thought Beyonce said "Girls run the world"

This thing is not as easy as you are making it sound.
Why aren't you factoring injuries, suspensions and general loss of form? If not for the strength in depth we had last season how do you think we would have survived Gomez's injury,Badstuber was also out as early as November or thereabouts and Kroos missed the last 2 months of the season!

Mcleo007: I share your views @JP Competition is stiff, and to oust the veterans to their position, the younger lads must beat whatever opportunities they get. Look at Batra for instance, the few games he played towards the end of the last season, the worst being the Bayern games shows he's not as good as we all want him to do. He may be doing well in junior tournaments and against jump beat league teams, but as things stand, he's not to be bet upon. He's yet to be tagged the next big thing.
Lool that is the price you pay for not giving your younger players some gametime! Did you expect Bartra to stop the strongest team in Europe by himself? Despite playing so few games!
I wonder how good Puyol,Xavi and Iniesta were at Bartra's age

Johnpaul88: I think a club like Barcelona have earned the right to decide which academy player gets promoted to the first team and who leaves on loan or sold.
Of course its your club and its your right to run it as you deem fit but its obvious most of these younguns are not getting sufficient playing time. I asked a very sensible question you don't have to get all antsy

Johnpaul88: Mr. A-40, can you tell me how many academy players in Bayern that will play any porminent role in this coming season in the first team apart from those ones already in the first team? I guess zero. You guys will keep buying already made stars and yet you'll come here to question Barca's transfer policies. That's very wrong.
We have Emre Can,Pierre Hojbjerg,Weiser they would all get playing time at some point

Johnpaul88: It'll be delusional to think that once someone graduates from the academy, he 's next Messi or Iniesta or Puyol. We must accept the fact that these players have not been good enough - including Thiago or Deulofeu
Is that the case or are they not getting sufficient opportunities in the first place? No wonder y'all keep buying back your products at inflated prices simply because they were not given time to develop

Johnpaul88: Barcelona is the only team that is performing at the very highest level who have in her ranks over 70% academy players. No club in the world can boast half of that record - not even Bayern.
Keep deceiving yourself! No be only 70% na 700% you for talk. The issue is why is a sizeable chunk of Barca's supposed future going to other clubs in the same window! Its unprecedented and shows a fundamental flaw! Most of your present academy products are over the hill and on their way out. Xavi,Puyol,Valdes etc with no one in sight to replace them

An interesting take on the Thiago situation by a poster on Bleacher Report

I have a gut feeling that Thiago did not leave solely because of lack of playing time.
Barcelona have truly been a mess ever since Guardiola left. Argue all you want about record league points but over the past season the management has shown how stubborn and clueless it is.

There are those who say he could have become the next Xavi at Barcelona. Why can't he do the same at Bayern? If he does fulfil his potential, he ought to become a world class player regardless -albeit one for Bayern.

I think Thiago recognises the fundamental flaws in which the club is being run on. The identity of Barcelona - emphasis on youth - was compromised when they continued with the first team having won the league; let "the next Puyol" Muniesa leave for free; and refused to trust in Bartra. The club is making some baffling decisions with regards to player management. Thiago has simply taken the opportunity to leave for a better team at the moment, before he's left to warm the bench for another season. And this ought to be a reality check to Barcelona management... get your head out of your a*se.

My question as well to the anti-Thiago brigade is why are so many La Masia ninjas bolting in this transfer window?

You can outscore a team without necessarily outgunning them. A team that outplays another but loses cannot be said to be outgunned they were only outscored! Desist from your simpleton tendencies for once and try and differentiate the two

You're a simp bruh! Wilshere and Ramsey are only starting because they are at a 2nd rate club like A$$@nal. I don't know of any top team in Europe that Wilshere and Ramsey would not be riding their bench or in Bayern's case playing in the reserves
That you were able to pull off a fluke result does not mean our midfield personnel are at par. Wanyama cannot say he is better than Thiago because he started at Celtic and they beat Barcelona

n0m0705: All these Bayern fans are very funny, they've won champions league now and they wouldn't allow us to rest. All of a sudden all their players are the best in europe, German players are now the best (SMH at Gundogan/kroos better than Wilshere) Imagine them claiming some trainee midfielders are now better than Arsenal midfielders. On a good day Bayern midfield can not outplay Arsenal's as evident in their previous meetings, in their last meeting at Alianz arena I couldn't point out any +ve thing done by kroos on the field. So you all should come down from your high horses.
Thank God say you no even mention Cleverley you try for that one but on a serious note who is Wilshere to be compared to Gundogan and Toni Kroos of all people? What can Wilshere do better than Toni Kroos? Passing,Shooting,Technique,Vision
Did you see Toni Kroos's goals against Dortmund and Arsenal lol by the way how many goals did Jack Wilshere score last season? Assists nko?

Over both legs Bayern had more shots on and off target yet you claim Kroos did not do anything positive despite taking 5 shots on goal in the said match! 2 on target

On the mountain, land or sea Wilshere can never ever be compared to Toni Kroos! The superior team advanced simple

occam: On the Mavs: Monta Ellis & Calderon? That Mavs move was just a ruse; that team is not playing to win. Once they lost the Dwight sweepstakes there was no hope. Wait till the Feb deadline and Dirk may even want out
They were given multiple year contracts I don't think that's what you do when you don't want to win! Without Dirk getting hurt the Mavs woulda made the playoffs easy! If they can get a decent center they are a 6th-7th seed at least. Besides who would take Dirk's contract? If Carlisle could get a few tough guys say a Matt Barnes at SF or a Reggie Evans to backup Nowitzki and play some D then who knows? No one saw the 10/11 Mavs going all the way

occam: On the Celtics: Thing with Ainge? he's too smart for his own good. Why break up the team instead of a smoother transition to a new generation. Yes, get rid of Jet but hold on to Doc, Pierce & Garnett for maybe 2 yrs to help the young'uns establish a winning culture. Suddenly C's are in same class as Bobcat, Wizards and other scrubs. Even the Cavs & Raptors are ahead of them
Blame it on the CBA! Those guys were past it men plus neither of them was really open to making financial sacrifices so Ainge's hands were forced! Its pointless keeping vets that would eat up salary cap for the future when you might as well bite the bullet and rebuild

occam: On the aging Nets stars: I believe these guys can still ball. They can hold their own against Heat and with experience overcome Pacers. With Deon Williams & Joe Johnson, its a solid teanm
It all boils down to chemistry its a strong team but a very old team plus they have no depth! I'm not saying they won't make noise because they will but younger and more athletic teams like the Bulls and Pacers would give them fits. Plus they have too many guys that need the ball to be effective! Deron Williams is a shoot first PG, Paul Pierce likes to handle the ball too and then there's Iso-Joe
